**
Giselle stayed at home on the night of her school's big event.
The whole day she spent locked inside her room and only came down at times to have her food. The family worried about Giselle, specifically her mother. Gigi wasn't left out in this case too. She had plans with her friends, but Gigi canceled them out to stay at home and keep a watch on her little sister. Eric worried about his daughter too, but no one could open about it to Giselle, and make her feel depressed. However, at dinner, Giselle didn't eat well and joined the family only for a few minutes. She had a few bites of the food and then left excusing herself from the table.
Gigi had enough of watching silently. She blew off steam and informed her parents about talking to Giselle after dinner. Both Melanie and Eric thought it would be best for the sisters to communicate than involving themselves. Melanie expressed her grat.i.tude to Gigi, and Eric advised not to go overboard and stress Giselle. Gigi agreed to approach friendly.
…
The dinner ended, and Gigi signaled the mother and father before going to Giselle's room. The two remained in the living room together while watching Gigi go upstairs. Walking the stairs, Gigi glanced at the photos decorated on the wall.
The two girls used to be so close. Giselle would never leave Gigi's side for a moment when they were young, but now, the situation became reversed. Along with time, the distance grew apart further, making it difficult for them both to approach each other anymore. Only when they are out of options, the two would articulate their thoughts else there was no need to interact. With them growing up, they become more independent and kept their emotions at bay from sharing it.
Watching the photos made Gigi felt being at fault as well. It was she, who asked for time, and yet Gigi never went to resolve the broken bond. Though she cared for Giselle indirectly, Gigi couldn't help but feel responsible for the gap that grew in a short time. It even made it more difficult for her to now act as she cares for her baby sister.
No matter what, the lost time would never get compensated.
All these years, Gigi would discursively express her opinions for Giselle, but not this time. She felt depressed for Giselle not able to attend the prom. If she could have kept her relationship the same with her sister, then it would have been possible for Giselle to open up. Nonetheless, Gigi chose to speak to Giselle finally after years of blindness.
The locked door worried everyone in the house.
The door that Giselle doesn't let anyone open is expanding day by day, and Gigi isn't welcoming it anymore.
Banging on it continuously, Gigi heard Giselle tell her not to bother talking.
"Giselle, open up the d.a.m.n door, or I will break it apart. I don't care what mom and dad say. I will tear this down if you don't open it right now-"
Before Gigi could finish showing off her violent reaction, Giselle answered the call by opening the door.
She did not speak, but her eyes said it all.
'What do you want and why are you bothering me?'
It hit Gigi with another doze of her guilt, but somehow the elder sister counter attacked it by letting herself inside the room.
"What are you doing?" Giselle queried in panic from the sudden barge in.
"Slow down! I'm not going to murder you."
Gigi's casual response annoyed the younger sister. She stopped Gigi from moving forward.
"I told you not to bother me," Giselle asked jarringly.
Gigi sensed the tension and growing rift. She didn't struggle to walk and stood at the same spot without moving. Giselle's hands relaxed when she noticed Gigi quit fighting.
Despite the reckless behavior, Giselle also noticed Gigi's concerned look on her face. It is the same gaze that rushed to the hospital to see her sister when she heard that Giselle became ill from their detachment.
…
"Are you sure they are okay up there, Eric?" Melanie asked worriedly.
Eric nodded, holding Melanie's hands, gently rea.s.suring her from getting anxious.
"No matter how huge the distance is, their bond is not something to take lightly. The two sincerely care for each other, and I know Gigi loves Giselle more than anything in her life. She cares for her more than us. I'm sure this will help Giselle."
Eric comforted his wife as they both sat together in the living room, hoping for Gigi's effort to succeed.

…
Gigi sat in the chair while Giselle took the bed. Sitting on the edge, Giselle waited.
Gigi protested against her will to explode by grappling Giselle and making her spit out everything. She sighed deeply, thinking from even having such a method to use.
"What is going on with you?" Gigi spoke.
"Why aren't you attending the prom?" she asked, her voice almost lost its strength. Without being able to bear a look at her little sister suffering alone, Gigi begged for Giselle to speak.
"I thought I already informed that I'm not willing to go," Giselle replied.
"What do you mean you are not willing? You could ask out anyone as your date for the prom," Gigi questioned.
Giselle thought for a while before responding.
"Everyone at school knows about me."
Giselle revealed.
Starting from her confession to Lillian Grey and till now, Giselle never shared anything with her family. She kept it to herself and processed it to her understanding. Also, this is the first time she tried to express herself to Gigi.
Giselle felt a slight relief from opening up a little.
"What do you mean by everyone knows?" Gigi's face stiffened from what she heard.
"It means everyone in school knows I'm gay. And the ones who already are, they already have a partner. What's the point of me going to prom in this scenario?" Giselle explained.
Gigi's worry escalated. The memories of going to pick up Giselle after school and heard all of the people teasing her little sister replayed in her mind once again.
'Everyone knows?'
'Is this mean that she's getting bullied again?'
'Should I call mom and dad?'
Gigi's mind got filled with tons of unanswered questions and doubts. Seeing her sister tremble, Giselle realized.
"Don't worry, I'm fine now," Giselle responded.
She knew that Gigi got worried, and so, she managed to convince her from stressing.
"Well, to be honest, not anymore. I was- I mean, I got bullied in the past for a short period, but not anymore-" Giselle revealed.
As she shared, Giselle remembered the day when Lillian came in and helped her out. Giselle exhibited a sense of grat.i.tude, along with great admiration.
Gigi gritted her teeth in regret for not knowing all of this and not being helpful to her sister.
"Why?"
"Why aren't you telling us anything?"
"Giselle."
Giselle saw her sister visibly in pain from uttering every word of it.
"Why don't you share your pain with us?" she asked, her face facing the floor from looking at Giselle directly.
"You asked for time as well, have you figured out processing me being a gay yet?" Giselle inquired as well.
Gigi's eyes widened along with a frown. The hands-on her knees clenched tightly, adding wrinkles to her dress.
"I did. I know it's even stupid of me to ask such a thing from my little sister, but what do you expect from me? Everyone at school used to say stuff about being gay, and I happened to learn about you. I didn't know how to react."
Gigi took the chance to express herself correctly.
"I- I had to learn what it is like to be you. I met a few people from my school and spoke with them."
Gigi's statement surprised Giselle. She never knew about it, and also, she didn't expect her sister to go to this extent.
After her explanation, both found themselves to be back to normal. Though it felt sudden, the sisters realized how much they missed talking to each other.
"Are you sure by not attending the prom? After all, it is a special event to cherish lifelong," Gigi asked politely.
Giselle admitted that she would miss not being able to go to the prom. However, she believes that this might be the right decision.
"So, you don't need time anymore, do you?" Giselle asked shyly.
Gigi got startled from her question. All this time, Giselle never approached her sister because she asked for time. Gigi cursed at herself for being such an idiot for a long time. To answer her question, she didn't respond, but let alone smiled and gave the acceptance.
Giselle appeared smiling as well; Out of all these sad things surrounding her at the time, she managed to receive love and reunite with her sister after years of darkness.
…
Eric was waiting outside the door, most likely listening to the girls conversing. He couldn't hear them but only able to realize that they weren't fighting. Melanie sent her husband to check on the girls.
Returning to the living room, Eric a.s.sured his wife to take it easy as the two seem to be talking smoothly.
"Are you sure they aren't arguing? Gigi can be aggressive!" Melanie asked again to confirm.
Eric only informed the mother not to worry anymore.
"They are not kids, Melanie. Leave it, Gigi will handle her."
Eric remained by his wife's side, not letting her grief.
…
"Say, Giselle? Why were you getting bullied in school? You said it was for a short period. What happened?" Gigi finally asked.
Giselle got alarmed from her question, but now that they both relaxed a bit to each other, Giselle felt vulnerable to share. However, exposing all of her hidden emotions and past at once seemed troublesome. Hence, Giselle chose to reframe her story a little bit, carefully removing the part where she falls in love with a girl named Lillian Grey.
Giselle felt it is too soon and almost unnecessary to talk about Lillian to her family. Since her love confession got rejected in the first place. If Gigi learns that Lillian refused her little sister, then who knows what might happen. Giselle also doesn't want Gigi to hate Lillian Grey right off the bat, and so, she tweaked the story a little by removing the confession part. But she kept the scenes where Lillian Grey would help her out. Gigi can think that Giselle wasn't left out, and there was someone who helped her get through this.

'Gossip girls, my a.s.s. I would have choked them to death for bullying my sister.'
'Bridgette, huh! If I ever see you in life, then you would learn not to mess with my precious sister.'
'I'm not even mad at these lame girls but THAT guy,'
'Mike.'
Gigi's fists bloodied from clenching it too hard. She practically restrained herself from not wanting to run straight to Mike's house, grab him by the collar, and choke him to death.
"Enough, I told you that I'm fine now. You don't need to show me your devil face. Seeing you right now, I think he could feel your wrath telepathically, and it may be haunting him right now.
Also, I told you right, that person helped me already. She took revenge for me!"
Giselle responded, steadily keeping her eye on Gigi ever since finish telling her story.
'This character 'Lillian' seems to be a nice girl. She keeps helping Giselle. Also, the other two, Anna and Diego, they all seem friendly. However, I can't let my guard down and treat them good so fast. I need more Intel of them if I'm going to trust those three with my little sister.'
Gigi's brain wrecked itself from the a.n.a.lysis.
Giselle couldn't help but laugh from watching her sister go sane with the story. If she were to speak to Gigi like usual, then Lillian Grey would have lost her chance to take revenge because Gigi might destroy Mike the very next day when it happened. Giselle felt at ease that it was Lillian who handled Mike and not Gigi. She could have killed that guy without a thought.
