Ivy and Bridgette recorded it to bully Giselle.
Giselle fought against Bridgette.
To take her revenge, Bridgette revealed Giselle's ident.i.ty out loud to everyone.'
It was the story Diego heard from Lillian Grey. However, hearing her say that Mike tried to **** Giselle on that day felt like a mystery to Diego.
Ever since he returned from lashing out at Lillian Grey, he wanted to meet Mike and talk to him. He wasn't able to do it while Mike was receiving his treatment, and so, waited until he fully received treatments and was feeling his self.
Diego looked for answers from Mike and sought to approach him the night after dinner.
Mike's room was on the same floor as Diego but located on the other end. Within a few seconds, Diego reached Mike's place and saw him resting inside.
"Do you mind if I can request for a little chat with you?" Diego proposed as he shut the door.
Mike, who rested motionless on the bed, turned to look at Diego. He wondered why the guy wanted to speak to him. With a confused grimace, he stared at Diego.
Understanding his confusion, Diego explained to Mike that he witnessed Lillian Grey beating Mike and that he interfered to separate them.
At that moment, Mike went unconscious, and so, he only heard a male voice that came out to help him from Lillian Grey.
Now only he discovers that the male voice belonged to Diego.
Mike welcomed him to sit and accepted his request.
…
"Tell me what happened?" Diego started.
It was an ambiguous question to Mike. He seemed perplexed.
"Lillian Grey is my friend, which you might know it already. And so, she told me everything that happened so far."
"However, I want to listen to your side of the story as well. Tell me about Giselle and-"
Diego hesitated from mentioning the harsh topic that brought Mike to this state. Regardless of his disinterest in Giselle's life and her encounters, Diego wanted to confront Mike for his unacceptable behavior towards a fellow student.
"Tell me why did you try to a.s.sault Giselle?"
When Diego finished with his questions, he remained quiet, awaiting answers from Mike and giving him s.p.a.ce and time to reply at his pace.
Mike startled from knowing that another person is aware of his crime, felt horrible. His mind went bawling as tears filled his already moist eyes.
He controlled himself and took a few deep breaths before starting to tell his story.
"I had feelings for Giselle."
Major hit against Diego's expectation. Not in any world would he have imagined such a plot twist. Controlling his shock, he remained quiet, listening to Mike.
"It started last year, and I used to follow her back home after school. I didn't do anything weird, but I would only follow her."
"She was the girl I thought a real beauty."
"I hid my crush for a while and without realizing, it turned into secret love."
"I was happy by myself, secretly watching her from the shadows."
Diego learned about Mike's unrequited love for Giselle, and it shocked him. Mike appeared happy talking about his young love for the girl. Diego almost felt bad for Mike, knowing about Giselle's ident.i.ty.
Nonetheless, he listened to him carefully without missing any beat. It was then Mike mentioned about Bridgette's appearance.
"I was happy by myself."
"She told me to confess my love for Giselle. She and her friends would always tease us together. It made me secretly happy inside. I enjoyed it without constraining them."

"Bridgette convinced me to talk to Giselle, finally."
Mike sighed. His eyes that were happy a few seconds ago turned gloomy.
"One day, we all went to Ice parlor together, and Bridgette said something that triggered Giselle-"
As Mike shared it, he remembered that Bridgette did say something hideous about Giselle's preference. Ivy and Bridgette did say something about Giselle and that she doesn't swing that way.
Mike's eyes grew at the moment. Diego noticed it.
Soon, it turned back to sulk yet filled with guilt.
"Bridgette and Ivy insulted Giselle, and it made her mad. She left the place after dumping the food on Bridgette's face."
"I followed her outside to comfort, but the conversation took a twist with me confessing my love to her."
It was tough for Mike to repeat the past as he felt getting strangled in his throat.
Diego who has been quietly listening to his story suddenly got worried and eagerly asked for the reply Giselle gave him.
"She rejected me out loud and outside in front of people."
Mike's answer was obvious, but Diego felt a twinge in his heart when he heard it directly from Mike. He didn't probe him further and let him continue.
"I should have known my place at that time, but once again Bridgette convinces me into her plans."
"I was stupid and a total sc.u.mbag."
"I agreed to her plan because of my selfish desire to seek Giselle."
"That day, we used one of her cla.s.smates to lure her to the Music room where I-"
Mike choked on his words, unable to complete the sentence.
"I- I tried to make her mine-"
The controlled tears began pouring out. Diego flinched when he heard it. Even though he isn't interested in Giselle, it hurt him to know that she had to go through such a thing in her life. He felt bad for her at that moment.
"It was her birthday-"
Mike suffocated himself.
Diego quickly helped him drink water to calm down.
"I shouldn't have done it-"
Mike kept apologizing to himself, repeating the same words again and again, but the pain inside him kept revisiting.
Diego stopped him for a while. He gave Mike some time to decompress.

"Are you sure that you're okay now?" Diego asked him to get a confirmation.
Mike admitted that he is okay and continued his story.
"So thankfully I hesitated. I got scared at the moment even though I was taking advantage of Giselle physically."
Mike's vision landed on the ceiling as he stared at it intensely.
"She kicked me in my b.a.l.l.s and ran away."
"G.o.d only knows how much I felt relieved that she ran away from me because I was a monster myself at that time. It was an unforgivable sin. What Lillian Grey did to me was fair, and I deserved it."
"For so long, I was keeping it within myself, and I struggled every day."
"I had nightmares of that incident."
"I avoided everyone at school, and it felt so wronged despite not getting exposed."
"My actions caused me this result, and I cent percent accept it."
"I needed those punches for me to wake up and apologize to Giselle because I haven't done that yet."
"I don't know even if she is willing to see my face, but I will try to apologize."
"Only then I would feel like a human being. However, I'm not expecting to get forgiven. But, I have to apologize to her for my selfish intentions."
Mike finished his story. Diego, who sat on the bed, stood up and prepared to leave.
"Thanking for telling me the truth, Mike."
"I hope you get a good rest."
Diego replied as he approached the closed door. Before leaving, he turned back to face Mike and said, "What you did to Giselle cannot be forgiven in your life, but apologizing to her is a good start."
"I won't spill the secrets as I can see you regretting it yourself."
...
"I became crazy only because I loved her dearly, more like personally." "Learning the fact that I couldn't be with her made me lose my sense," Mike revealed.
"Loved her dearly, huh!"
"Personally!"
Diego's murmurs didn't reach Mike, but he felt as if Diego understood him.
He then left the place saying goodnight.
He returned to his room to find Josh already slept soundly. Without making a noise, Diego went to bed.
He knew that he would not sleep well tonight.
