That night, Jeremy went back with a lighter feeling than usual. It's been a long time since he chatted that long. He never thought that Lina could be a good partner for talking. From paranormal cases to matters regarding arts. Lina was someone that read a lot so it's easy for them to think of topics to discuss. To Jeremy, those who didn't read were bad talking partners. That's why he didn't have many friends here in CGTSS. They had a different wavelength.
However, the light feeling didn't last long. Just as he arrived in his room, he could feel that something was wrong. His door wasn't locked, even though he was sure that he had never once forgotten to do so. As he entered the unlocked room, he saw his belongings scattered everywhere. It can't be said that it was the work of a robber as his laptop was sitting safely on his desk. It looked more like when someone had just finished venting their anger.
Someone?
Jeremy started picking up the papers on the floor. Papers were one thing, but with the Milo powder covering the floor… Haih, this d.a.m.nable ghost…
As Jeremy was bending down cleaning, he saw a pair of soles in front of him… leading to a pair of legs.
Aduhhh… it's starting to show itself now…
Jeremy had two choices. One, get the h.e.l.l out of the room at that instance. Two, slowly get up and face the creature that's been haunting him all this while. He felt that the first choice was a wise one, but thinking that he didn't know what kind of creature it was, he was afraid that when he run, that 'thing' would be waiting right at the door. It's possible, right?
Thus, after a slight contemplation, Jeremy picked the second choice: confrontation with the creature. Slowly, Jeremy got up - his eyes carefully observing the legs (wearing jeans)… then the waist… before reaching the chest (wow! This ghost went to the gym!) and finally…
Right at the face, Jeremy closed his eyes. He didn't know why but the fear suddenly overcame everything and in his head, various images started emerging. He once heard from his grandpa of a pig-headed ghost. Though admittedly, a pig's face wasn't that scary, it depended on the species too, right? If it's a boar's it's more hideous, right? Who knew that maybe the boar-headed ghost didn't like people watching it. Maybe it'd directly ram the person. That'd be dangerous!
"Jeremy?"
Jeremy was startled. At the door, it was Lina standing there. Jeremy looked back at where the ent.i.ty was - empty.
"What are you doing here?" Jeremy asked while closing in o Lina.
Lina was silent.
"What's wrong?" he asked again.
"Hmmm… that thing… it's at it again." Said Lina.
"Hah? Just now?"
Lina nodded.
"How?"
"Let me enter first, can I?"
Jeremy nodded, still unclear of what happened to his room. Lina went in and Jeremy shut the door. Lina went and sit on Jeremy's bed while he pulled a chair in front of her. Suddenly, Lina looked like she just realised what condition Jeremy's room was in.
"Why is this place like a wrecked ship?"
"I, too, was disturbed…"
"The ghost did? You sure it's not human?"
"Even though I'm a weirdo, there's no one that hates me to this degree," Jeremy suddenly felt slightly offended. It's usual for people of art to easily feel offended.
"It's not like that. I mean… hmmm… never mind. It's too weird to figure out anyway," Lina gave her verdict. "Now what? You got an emo ghost while mine's a prankster."
"A prankster ghost?"
"It seems to like playing tricks with me."
"That's still okay. Playful. This emo ghost of mine is worse! And I already said that I love it! It's still doing this to me. If I didn't, I don't even know…" Jeremy sighed.
Lina laughed and so did Jeremy.
"Even if it's playful, if we can't see it, it's not entertaining. Just afraid," said Lina.
"Hmmm… you… just sleep here."
"Hah? Serious?"
"Serious. Just sleep here. I won't disturb you," Jeremy tried convincing.
The problem was that it was Lina that wasn't confident that she wouldn't disturb Jeremy.
It's a bit worrisome that I'm waking up too often to go to the toilet. People say that this means that I'm having diabetes. But I'm still young!
That's what playing on Jeremy's mind as he came back from the toilet. The verses in his mind stopped as he saw Lina lying down on his bed.
Stark naked,.
"Err… Lina?" Eh! What the h.e.l.l did I call her out for?! If not calling her, then what am I supposed to do? I don't fricking know how to handle this kind of situation.
Lina sent a smile to him. Jeremy walked closer with careful steps. "Didn't… err… didn't you say that you're the type that can't stand the cold?" That's what you're bringing up?! Ooi Jeremy!
"Haah. How about you warm me up?"
This girl can't be serious?!
Jeremy became flabbergasted. Cool, Jeremy, cool…
Jeremy sat at the end of the bed, where Lina's legs had started sweetly rubbing his thigh. Oh this is severe!
"Lina what's wr - "
Before he even finished his sentence, Lina suddenly jumped at Jeremy and kissed him. Jeremy was stunned - but before he got carried away and kissed Lina back, he held both of Lina's shoulders and distanced their bodies.
"Lina… I…"
"You're not straight. Understood. But just one night? Please?"
"Okay - one, you can't say whether I'm straight or not as even I don't know. Two, what's wrong? This is so sudden."
Lina snorted. She got up and started dressing on by one. Jeremy tried holding her hand. "Hey…"
"Let go!" Lina snapped.
"Eh! What's wrong?"
"You're what's wrong! Not even knowing whether you're straight or not. When it's served right in front of you - you rejected!"
Jeremy held Lina's arm, tighter this time. "Served? You're talking about yourself as a serving, Lina? What's wrong with you?"
Lina was silent.
"Lina… what's wrong with you?"
Lina sat on the bed, shaking her head. Jeremy sat beside her. Lina sighed.
"I… don't know why. I'm… just like this…"
"Like this… how?"
"I… need to feel it? You understand? I need to get a round or two before I recover. If not, I'd start remembering the s.h.i.tty things in my life. But if I do it, I'll feel calm."
Jeremy clammed up.
"Yes, I know. I have a problem. It's not that I've never read about it. I know what I am, okay?"
Jeremy hugged Lina - he felt that the hug wasn't unreasonable. It's just to calm her down. "If you know you have a problem, that means that you're already moving towards a solution. It's just that, I feel that there's something even worse than that. This is just a way for you to cope with it."
"I know. I've read about it."
"You're all talk! What's the point of just reading of you don't practice it?" Jeremy sounded back.
Lina made a face.
"If you just want to have a round or to, then I've got no problem. But I'm just afraid that you can't handle my ferocity later."
Lina pinched Jeremy. "You're so bad, My…"
"Bad but s.e.xy, right?"
Lina laughed. Laughter in tears. And Jeremy kept hugging her while she cried - and told him her problems with her family that night.
Today, I just felt so sleepy. Other than during cla.s.ses and eating, I had been sleeping all day. So that’s why, bear with this one chapter, okay?
Well, hope you had a good read.
