But the best thing in life, the comforts, the luxury, the security, the convenience, this place has it all!
And Heaven's Tower was not like any other condos with their messily tiny rooms. All rooms in Heaven's Tower occupied an entire floor! More than one thousand square meters per floor amounting to forty-seven levels in total including the penthouse which was reserved for the owner of the said luxurious condo.
Evangeline swiped her card, and the forty-four level lit up.
When the elevator dinged, she was transported inside the elevator lobby of her unit. She walked towards her door and swiped her card exposing her foyer and living room where a line of boys was on the side complete with their ap.r.o.ns and feather dusters and mops and other cleaning materials.
"Welcome home, M' Lady!"
The guys roared at the same time which Evangeline just nodded in response.
She roamed her eyes and flashed out a relieved smile upon seeing her adorable pets came rushing in to greet her. She immediately kneeled and hugged each one of them, not minding their pushing and shoving, especially Winter with his big puffy body. It was a good thing that Winter was well behaved and just contented to lick her face.
The boys sighed in bless, watching their revered G.o.ddess smile and laugh heartily – so different from her cold and icy expression.
They would gladly be her servant if it meant that they could see her smile like that every day.
If the students of Unmei Academy were here, they would be surprised out of their wits since the boys that lined up with ap.r.o.ns and cleaning material in hands were actually those boys from the said Academy who confessed to Evangeline and transferred schools because the icy woman humiliated them for all the students to see.
One thing was right, the men did transferred schools, they transferred not because Evangeline humiliated them, but because other students started to bully them after their confession.
They had no other choice but to transfer to Fate Academy where there was a fan club that the sole purpose was to serve their Queen, led by the notorious biker gang, Nightmare.
At first, the boy's just really wanted to date their G.o.ddess, but after Evangeline humiliated them, something inside them stirred. Something like a new sense of awe, amazement, admiration – worship!
Like a light that shone upon their darkest heart. Like they had suddenly found something, not to protect, but to serve for eternity.
"Where's Asher?"
Evangeline stood up and reverted to her usual icy cold face while an alluring smile played on her lips. Spring, the hamster, scurried to her shoulder, rubbing its puffy cheeks against her neck as Summer, the piglet circled at her in excitement while Fall, the white Maine c.o.o.n cat was on her arms and Winter, the white Alaskan malamute sat obediently behind her, waging its tail.
"You called?"
Answered a deep, alluring baritone voice.
A man of six feet two inches tall with a well-built body coupled with an alluring bad boy look came out from the open kitchen.
Asher Cole, a twenty-two years old second-year college student who was also taking up business management in Fate Academy, second only to Unmei Academy regarding school standing.
Asher should be in fact, a graduating student by now, but because he often skipped cla.s.ses, he was held back and remained as a second-year student.
Little was known about him except that he was the leader of the notorious biker gang in Blue River City, Nightmare.
But Evangeline knew all about him.
Of course she knew, she's her cousin on the mother side after all.
Evangeline only tap on the knowledge about the Cole's two years ago when she turned eighteen and had gotten her mother's last will.
It turned out. Her mother gave her not only the share of twenty percent, but also rare pieces of jewelry, gold bars, artifacts and billions of money that could rival that of royalties, stored secretly in different banks abroad. With the amount of inheritance from her mother alone, she could live a life of comfort and luxury for the rest of her life even spanning to generations of her descendant, if she will have any.
Ever since she was a child, Evangeline thought that her parents were just a middle-cla.s.s family, until she discovered her innate talent, helping her father's company grew into an empire with an unrivaled international brand.
Only at her eighteenth birthday did she knew that her mother came from a long line of family that secretly governed the whole country of BlackPine in the east.
Marcos Cole, Evangeline's grandfather, disowned her mother, Emerald, because she chose to be with an unknown middle-cla.s.s man in the country of Burberry, changing her name from Emerald Cole to Emerald Heart.
But her grandmother, Beatrix Cole, loves her only daughter so much that she secretly sent her pieces of jewelry, gold bars and a hefty amount of money every month behind her husband's back.
If only Robert Krisnov knew of his late wife's ident.i.ty, he would have never dared to be so arrogant, cheating and disrespecting Emerald at every turn after he climbed to power and riches.
But alas, in the past, Emerald Cole disguised herself as someone else when she first met Robert Krisnov, not disclosing any information about her ident.i.ty even after she died.
Two years ago, Evangeline traveled to BlackPine country in the east to meet her mother side of the family. Not because she wanted to, but because her mother wanted for her to meet her grandparents and say sorry in behalf of her mother.
That was when she met Asher, her cousin, the second born son of Axel Cole.
Axel Cole was the first born and only son of Marcos Cole. Her mother's only big brother.
That was why mother is so strong.
Even she was broken and discarded. She remained beautiful and proud – a warrior at heart.
The Cole family came from a long line of powerful mafia organization that controlled almost all the business dealings even the government in BlackPine Country. They were like the unknown Kings who secretly ruled the country and very private personages that only a selected few knew about. They like to operate behind the scene, planting their men to managed everything for them.
Though Evangeline held resentment over the fact that the Cole did nothing when her mother was sick and dying, she also knew that it wasn't entirely the Cole's fault.
Asher explained it to her that they didn't knew the situation. Her mother, Emerald didn't even write about her condition to Beatrix Cole. Beatrix Cole only found out about it too late when she no longer received any letter from her only daughter.
"You hungry? I've cooked you a meal."
Asher flashed out his killer smile that only reserved for Evangeline. He was quite doting towards this cousin of his. Even though he only knew her for two years, being born in the household of where they didn't have any female at all except for his mother and grandmother, he immediately treated Evangeline like a little sister, pampering her to the sky.
In fact, it was not only Asher who felt that way, even his older and little brother and father. And in secret, his grandfather, all felt that way.
In short, because Evangeline was the only female left in the primary line that had the blood of Cole running through her veins – she was treated even more precious than life itself.
Even Marcos Cole couldn't help but to warm up to his only granddaughter, brought by old age perhaps. Though he still harbored resentment and dissatisfaction towards Robert Krisnov.
Marcos Cole, the head monarch of the family, was a very prideful, unforgiving man. It said that his wife perished years ago, a year after Evangeline's mother died. Beatrix couldn't handle the devastation at knowing that her only daughter had died. But even so, because Marcos already disowned Emerald. He didn't budge after knowing that she died. And even after his wife died, he remained unfeeling and indifferent.
"I hope that you only serve delicacies that can satisfy my palate." Evangeline strode while swaying her hips.
The boys couldn't help but took a peek, until Asher raised an eyebrow at them. They hurriedly scattered everywhere, pretending to be busy cleaning.
Asher shook his head while smiling wolfishly. This was what he liked about Evangeline. She was a woman that knew what she wanted, and wouldn't tolerate anything less than she deserved.
