Chapter 2199: Chapter 2200: Explosive Scenes
Outside the hotel, a black Accord sedan was parked.
In a corner of the parking lot, it was very inconspicuous.
Lin Yi sat in the back seat, watching the situation outside the window, while Xiao Bing sat in the driver’s seat, her computer beside her displaying the surveillance footage of the fifth floor.
“Lin Bro, you’re really amazing. It’s so high up on the fifth floor, yet you managed to climb down from the window.”
“This c.r.a.ppy hotel, I almost fell down.”
“I’ve learned my lesson, won’t stay here again, heh heh,” Xiao Bing joked,
“But are they definitely going to make a move today?”
“I’m not sure, just preparing in advance,” Lin Yi sighed,
“They clearly know who I am and what the Central Guards Brigade is. To stop me, they might use unconventional methods. We must be on guard just in case.”
“That makes sense,” Xiao Bing said,
“If they really wanted to monitor your every move, it wouldn’t make much sense to just station someone at the hotel.”
“That’s exactly where the suspicion lies,” Lin Yi spoke gravely,
“If they really wanted to monitor me and react accordingly, this approach would definitely be inappropriate. So I sneaked out to check on the situation.”
“Lin Bro, you know what I admire most about you?”
“Jealous of my ‘hundred and eighty times a night’?”
“Dude, Lin Bro, I suspect you’re driving, and I’ve caught the evidence now,” Xiao Bing laughed,
“What I admire most about you is your insight, as if you were born with a sense to sense danger.”
“It’s mostly because I’m afraid of dying, so I think a lot. Being cautious is always right.”
Hiss—
Xiao Bing shivered, “When I was on missions before, if it weren’t for you being with me, the gra.s.s over my grave would probably be over two meters tall by now.”
“We are a team, not just because of me alone.”
“I heard from Sister Ning that you left the Central Guards Brigade? Is that true? Don’t scare us.”
“I left, but not completely. I still take part in some minor tasks. You also need to grow. Always having me lead you can lead to dependency.”
Lin Yi didn’t elaborate further on this topic
to avoid burdening their minds.
“By the way, did you check on the situation outside?” Lin Yi asked,
“That GL8, that’s their car, right?”
“Don’t worry, such a small matter, definitely no mistake,” Xiao Bing said confidently,
“This afternoon, I was in the car the entire time. I saw the people keeping watch at your door. Several of them went to that car.”
“As long as there are no problems.”
Xiao Bing smacked her lips, “Lin Bro, isn’t this playing with fire?”
“This place has become a complete mess. If we don’t stir things up a bit, it’d be boring,” Lin Yi leaned back in his seat,
“Besides, now that the Central Guards Brigade is involved, we definitely need to bring something special to the table, or we’ll be a laughingstock.”
“Tsk tsk tsk, I just love going on missions with you. It’s so thrilling.”
Lin Yi yawned, “Alright, I’m going to sleep for a bit. Keep watch, if you get tired, wake me up. We’ll take turns.”
“Stop, stop, stop, don’t fall asleep yet,” Xiao Bing said excitedly, “There’s something happening.”
“They’re making their move?”
“You guessed it right,” Xiao Bing pointed at the computer screen,
“Look at these people, all gathered at your door, and at the elevator and staircase as well. It looks like they’re really going for it.”
“And most importantly, it looks like they all are carrying guns.”
“Carrying guns is correct,” Lin Yi said,
“If they’re dealing with me and still carrying knives and clubs, then Shao Zhenye and his group are idiots.”
…
In the twenty minutes before, Shao Zhenye and four men had returned to the hotel entrance.
They then boarded Shao Zhenye’s Alfa.
Zhang Jiahao, holding his cellphone, said to Ma Bo,
“Go ahead, keep people at the elevator and staircase on the fifth floor, attack on sight, no hesitations.”
“Don’t worry, Brother Hao, something this small won’t be a problem.”
Pengcheng in the early hours wasn’t very crowded despite many people still being active, and the streets had few pedestrians.
Most of the hotel rooms were dark as the guests had turned in for the night, with only a few still awake.
This bustling city had entered the quietest moment of the day.
But for Shao Zhenye and his group, it was the most thrilling time.
As soon as Lin Yi died, they would have won half of the battle.
“What do you think Liang Xianghe will do when he sees the fire?”
Shao Zhenye’s gaze fixed on the hotel’s fifth floor, waiting for the antic.i.p.ated fire to start.
“Probably will be p.i.s.sed enough to spit blood,” Gu Haichao laughed,
“We’re just teaching a lesson to those concerned, showing them what the Pengcheng Chamber of Commerce is all about.”
Zhou Guangyao who was sitting nearby laughed, “Then let this fire burn brighter, let everyone see it.”
“It’s just a pity, if we could cripple him and bring him before us, it would be more interesting.”
“Be satisfied. You know his status better than anyone. Just being able to kill him is already a stroke of luck, capturing him wouldn’t be easy,” Shao Zhenye remarked.
“That’s true, let’s just wait and watch the show.”
Leisurely chatting for a while, all of their gazes fell on the fifth floor, waiting for the bright blaze to appear.
But after several long minutes, the fifth floor showed no signs of disturbance, as if nothing had happened.
“Brother Hao, what’s happening? It’s been so long, why is there no sign of anything?”
