Chapter 11 Part 2 – Training

There were still three weeks remaining before filming of Kiwi's 《Produce 101》starts.

The trio group – Sky Boys was preparing a a singing and dancing performance for the show. The song that was used was not a self-written song, they had re-arranged a widely known song and were using it instead .

Both Tong Ruize and Gao Dao were selected to be trainees by the company in the past because of their performance in the same dance talent show. At that time, Tong Ruize was eliminated when the contestants were cut from fifteenth to ten while Gao Dao was the 2nd runner up.

The dance skills and stage presence of the two were outstanding while Chen Minhao's dancing wasn't particularly strong among the trainees. Furthermore, after Tong Ruize entered the group, the dance instructor changed the ch.o.r.eography and increased the difficulty to another notch.

In order to reduce the difference he had with the rest, everyday, Chen Minhao would go to the dance studio at 7 o ‘clock to practice.

Tong Ruize and Gao Dao had an average vocal skills — they couldn't even hit the high notes. Their voice would often crack. In order to avoid causing an accident during 《Produce 101》, the parts of each person kept constantly changing, and in the end, Chen Minhao found himself singing more than half of the song.

Chen Minhao was very disciplined in following his daily schedule.

Practice dancing from 7 am to 9 am;

Gym from 9 am  to 11 am;

Training with Tong Ruize and Gao Dao together from afternoon to evening: 1 pm to 5 pm dance practice, 5 pm to 7 pm vocal training.

Guitar self-practice from 8 pm to 10 pm.

During all these, Kang Hui only called Chen Minhao once. She did not say anything with regards to Tong Ruize being elected as the temporary leader. She just instructed Chen Minhao to be serious and learn earnestly from the dance and vocal instructors.

Two weeks remaining before filming of Kiwi's 《Produce 101》starts.

After being together with Tong Ruize for the past two weeks, Chen Minhao found that as an artist that got discovered from an unknown talent show and got eliminated at the stage where contestants were cut from 15 to 10, Tong Ruize who was signed by the company, and debuted before all other trainees and highly valued by Zhang Ye indeed had some substance and good qualities in him.

He's emotionally intelligent and hard-working, it was hard to hate on him.

During dance lessons, he would often teach Chen Minhao practical and good little techniques. He was self aware with regards to his ability in singing and offered Chen Minhao his parts on his own initiative. He practiced hard in the routine practice as well.

He was very honest and calm that he'd s.n.a.t.c.hed Zhou Mingrui's position in the group. He was honest in telling others that he really needed such a chance for himself.

During the time with Tong Ruize, Chen Minhao increasingly found himself admiring Tong Ruize as a fellow teammate.
