Feng Yu was speechless. Li Mingde was at least 50 years’ old, and he still acted like a kid by complaining to the higher-ups.

With the Aviation Factory’s shares, the Feng family became the major shareholders of the Machinery Company. Li Mingde was nervous. He suddenly remembered that Feng Yu and Fu Guangzheng were close and he heard the Wind and Rain humidifiers’ overseas sales were handed over to the Fu family.

If Fu Guangzheng supported Feng Yu or Feng Xingtai, then there would be a shift of power at the Machinery company. He must get the city to help him and protect his position!

For the first time, Li Mingde felt that restructuring the Machinery Company was a mistake. Why did he support the restructuring of the Machinery Company from a state-owned enterprise to a private company? Although in Bing City, there was still no state-owned enterprise leader being replaced after the reorganization, in the coastal provinces, there had been some instances where the government appointed leaders being replaced.

The person who would have the final say in a joint-stock company is the person who had the most support of the shareholders!

Li Mingde was a General Manager of a State-owned enterprise and was on the level of a Department Deputy Chief. If his position was removed by the Feng family, where can he go?

There were many state-owned enterprises in Bing City, but there were not a lot of good positions. Initially, many people were envious of his position, and he had the chance to be transferred to the Agricultural Department. But he rejected the offer. Even if he wanted to take up the transfer now, there must also be someone who would give him this position.

Li Mingde could see himself spending his remaining career in a no authority position with an almost bankrupt state-owned enterprise. He would no longer have any authority, secretary, benefits, cars, etc.!

He must not let this happen to him. The only person that can help him now is his former leader, Deputy Mayor Xu.

Although Deputy Mayor Xu was about to retire, he was still in position and still had authority. With his number of years with Bing City, even the Mayor had to give him face during meetings.

Li Mingde did not go to Zhang Ruiqiang, who was in-charge of Bing City’s state-owned enterprise restructuring, economy and commercial development. Everybody knows that Feng Yu visits Zhang Ruiqiang every now and then. Li Mingde even suspects that Zhang Ruiqiang was in cahoots with Feng Yu and this idea might also be from Zhang Ruiqiang!

At 1.30 pm, Feng Yu appeared in the City Government. Li Mingde had arrived earlier than 1 pm. Li Mingde stood at the windows and was relieved when he saw Feng Yu entering the building. He was afraid that Feng Yu would find some excuse to skip this meeting.

“Mayor Xu, look. This is Feng Yu. He can’t even be punctual and is very arrogant. He knows that you are waiting for him and yet he arrives so late. He is so young, and yet he is putting on airs!” Li Mingde tried to add fuel to the flames.

Deputy Mayor Xu frowned and said: “I am not old until I can’t tell the time. It is 1.30 pm now.”

Even though Li Mingde was told off by Deputy Mayor Xu, he was still happy. He could tell that Deputy Mayor Xu was unhappy with Feng Yu!

Both of them waited for another 5 minutes, but they did not see the secretary coming in to inform them that Feng Yu had arrived. Why did Feng Yu take such long time to walk from the first floor to the third floor?

Deputy Mayor Xu’s secretary sent someone to go and look for Feng Yu. The staff came back after a few minutes and reported that Feng Yu was in Deputy Mayor Zhang’s office.

Li Mingde saw Deputy Mayor Xu’s face changes color and immediately take the opportunity to stir s.h.i.t: “Mayor Xu, this Feng Yu is too arrogant. He is obviously trying to show us that he has the backing of Mayor Zhang and he does not care about you!”

Zhang Ruiqiang was promoted to Executive Deputy Mayor in March and was in the City’s committee. There were rumors that the Mayor had supported him and Deputy Mayor Xu had competed with him for this position.

Deputy Mayor Xu was in his current rank for some years, and he wanted a promotion. But the higher-ups felt that he was too old and wanted him to retire after this year!

Zhang Ruiqiang was the lowest ranking deputy mayor in Bing City and had leaped to become the no.2 leader of Bing City Government. Deputy Mayor Xu was overtaken by a “young man” in his 40s. How can he be happy with this?

When Li Mingde’s provocation words just ended, Deputy Mayor Xu said sternly: “Enough! We will talk when Feng Yu is here !”

Li Mingde stepped back. He felt that his leader knew of his plans to stir up discord. But in his heart, he was still pleased. Deputy Mayor Xu would surely support him and would force Feng Yu to spit out the shares previously owned by the Aviation Factory!

Deputy Mayor Xu had also asked Hou Haitao over but the latter claims that he had to attend a meeting in Beijing and escaped!

Since the old fox is not around, they will deal with the young fox first!

“Mayor Zhang, the conditions of our City’s police need to be improved. Their transportation needs to be changed. They are still using those old sidecar motorcycles from decades ago. If the City Government is interested in Songjiang Motorcycles and wants to procure a batch of motorcycles, I can give you a special price. 10,000RMB for a bike.”

Zhang Ruiqiang looked at Feng Yu. He also knew that Li Mingde had gone to Deputy Mayor Xu for help and had asked Feng Yu over to force him to return the Machinery Company’s shares. He thought that Feng Yu came to him today for help and was thinking of ways to reject. After all, Li Mingde was trying to get the best for the city, and Zhang Ruiqiang does not want to support Feng Yu.

But Zhang Ruiqiang did not expect Feng Yu to not mention about this matter but instead tried to promote his motorcycles! Is this kid fearless or stupid?

The next few years, Bing City’s economy would be getting better, and even if the City does not do anything, Bing City would be one of the thriving cities in China. Zhang Ruiqiang was in-charge of the city’s economic growth, and he could see himself getting credit for this.

The city does have the intentions to improve the police’s equipment. The Provincial Police had confiscated a lot of money for the city last year, and if the City does not spend on the Police department, the Police Chief would not be happy!

Zhang Ruiqiang felt that equipping the City Police with motorcycles was a good idea. Not only the officers would have better transport, but it would also be more convenient for the officers to control traffic and patrol. They can also answer to the Provincial Police Department and at the same time, improve the city’s image!

Zhang Ruiqiang looked at Feng Yu seriously: “I will consider this. Do you still have anything else you want to tell me?”

“Oh, you are trying to ask me to go? Fine. I have something on too. You can give me a call after you consider.” Feng Yu turned and left. He did not mention a single word about Deputy Mayor Xu.
