Chapter 524: Push Us Further and We Will Self-Destruct!
At the colossal continental plate floating in the depths of the stars...
The Primeval Lord of Heaven, patriarch of the Chan Sect, stepped out in his black robes from his alternate dimension, and was about to tear through s.p.a.ce and time... when his expression changed and he stopped in his tracks, smiling. “Well, I don’t have to join the party since my Senior Brother is coming.”
Returning within his alternate dimension, the Primeval Lord of Heaven waved his hand, a sheet of water appearing before him.
The state of the Grand Luo battlefield could clearly be seen.
“Interesting.”
The Primeval Lord of Heaven chuckled, but soon become curious.
“There were only twelve Overdeities in the western pantheon. How did the kid managed to get his hands on so many Overdeity divinities?”
“Moreover, his cat and dog appear to originate from the plainest of bloodlines, and they should have great trouble becoming daemons, and yet they have managed to reach their current cultivation level... and there are those two plants too.”
Being a Saint, the Primeval Lord of Heaven was very knowledgeable and had actually identified the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine. “There are Cloudsc.r.a.per Vines in the spiritual realm, but even the strongest of them had only reached Golden Immortal...”
“That giant willow tree is rather curious as well...”
“And the kid also mentioned that he had planted an Old Tea Tree of Enlightenment... that definitely isn’t something from this universe!”
People across worlds knew about the Old Tee of Enlightenment, and that it was brought by the Saints out of the alternate dimension. As it grew within the chaotic realms deep in the celestial battlefield, those who were not Saints could hardly enter.
However, no one knows where said alternate dimension was connected too!
Curious about Jiang He, the Primeval Lord of Heaven pinched his fingers to cast his clairvoyance.
He was a Saint and could look into a person’s past with only his fingers, even their preexistence.
“Eh?”
And yet, just as the Primeval Lord of Heaven began to use his clairvoyance, his expression changed and there was a gush in his throat before he spat out a mouthful of blood.
His face was filled with disbelief and he could not help exclaiming, “No way... such a powerful retaliation? Could there be a transcendent elite backing Jiang He?”
***
At a constellation in outer s.p.a.ce, the majestic figure of the G.o.d Race’s progenitor had paused upon a ma.s.sive asteroid fragment.
He was looking straight ahead at an old man wearing Daoist robes.
He was seated atop a blue cow and smiling at the progenitor of the G.o.d race, saying, “Let the young ones settle their own business, so let’s not interfere.”
“Are you getting in my way?”
There was somberness in the G.o.d race progenitor’s eyes, for the old man was Taishang Laojun himself.
He smiled but did not offer an answer.
With a wave of his hand, a G.o.dly power shrouded the entire constellation, and the G.o.d race progenitor did not attempt to break it.
The old man before him was the only elite he was wary of in all the worlds in the universe.
After all, Taishang Laojun was universally acknowledged as the most powerful man there was!
Hence, the majestic form of the G.o.d race’s progenitor promptly shrunk into a ten-meter-tall divine spirit who smiled. “Taishang, this is not a matter that concerns only us G.o.ds. The other gentleman of the Demon race has moved as well.”
“Since you came to stop me... that gentleman is unstoppable!”
Taishang Laojun smiled but say nothing.
Summoning a stone table and a teapot with a wave of his hand, he smiled, “You don’t have to worry about it, Brother. I have my own methods to stop him... here, have some tea.”
The G.o.d race’s progenitor had a change in expression at that and exclaimed in surprise, “No way... could your cultivation have improved again? Did... did you transcend?”
The old man had a sip of tea, but shook his head and sighed. “Is it that easy to transcend this world? I’ve merely become a little stronger than you lot.”
The old man could not help laughing out loud as the face of the G.o.d race’s progenitor turned ashen.
***
Meanwhile, in another corner of the universe, the progenitor of the Demon race who had just departed from the Demon realm paused and looked ahead.
Another old man was sitting cross-legged ahead of him, holding a fishing rod and seemingly catching cosmic bodies.
And just as the progenitor of the Demon race paused, the cosmic bodies he was fishing suddenly shone with dazzling light and instantly turned into a great array that extended over hundreds of miles away.
Kaboom!
A paG.o.da that shrouded with yellow-black qi descended from the skies, and a colossal symbol of the eight trigrams arose.
“Taishang!”
The progenitor of the Demon race bellowed, the Demon Qi around him instantly filling the air.
Soon, however...
The thick Demon Qi faded and the progenitor of the Demon race dropped onto a withered planet, hacking blood endlessly.
With the Celestial Yellow PaG.o.da over his head while he landed nearby over the eight trigrams symbol landed, the old man smiled. “You and that temper of yours... you always need a beating before you listen. Just look at the gentleman of the G.o.d race who gets off untouched.”
“I-Impossible!”
The progenitor of the Demon race roared in rage. “How could you be so much stronger?!”
Aside from the Saints, no one else across the universe had sensed what happened.
It was the same for Jiang He, who was inside the Grand Luo battlefield as well.
As time pa.s.sed, the ninety-nine foreign Grand Luo were diminishing in numbers...
The death of many of their opponents meant that many of the pseudo-Overdeities were free to attack the Grand Luo who remained, hence leaving them in despair.
Some Grand Luo unleashed their terrifying forbidden techniques, while others directly blew themselves up.
Dozens of pseudo-Overdeities were hence killed.
The twenty or so Grand Luo left hence saw hope, and Lord Skyless invoked his innate soul treasure to cut down over twenty of the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine’s tendrils before instantly flying off into the distance as a divine light to rally the other Grand Luo, his G.o.dly powers bursting violently around his body as he roared, “Stop!”
The other twenty-or-so Grand Luo all invoked their Dao energy like the other martyrs, smiling ferociously. “Come on, then... it’s just death. Come at us if you don’t fear death.”
“Oh, no!”
Beside Jiang He, w.a.n.g Hou exclaimed softly, “They are going to self-destruct!”
The Golden Armor General—the Jade Emperor’s clone, who had been fighting the Demon Lord Moyin—promptly pulled back to Jiang He’s side as well.
Moyin himself pivoted and flew off to Lord Skyless’s side.
Staring at the Jade Emperor’s clone and Jiang He, he said quietly, “Gentleman, that’s it for the day. We don’t have to go down together... we may have lost, but at least half of you would go down with us if you would still attempt to destroy us to the last man!”
The Golden Armor General’s expression changed at that.
These twenty or so Grand Luo could well destroy a number of the pseudo-Overdeities if they really self-destructed.
Both him and w.a.n.g Hou turned toward Jiang He, who was studying Lord Moyin and Lord Skyless interestedly and chuckled, “You two really do have some guts... why don’t the two of you work together and kill the other Grand Luo, and I’ll spare your lives. How about that?”
The surviving Grand Luo of the G.o.d-Demon races were gathering towards Moyin and Skyless, while those from the other races were all backing away.
Lord Skyless spoke sonorously then, “Fear not, brothers. Would we fall for such a simple trick of sowing discord? It is only by working together that we can survive.”
“Tch...”
Jiang He clapped and laughed. “Guess the Grand Luo of the G.o.d-Demon races aren’t all idiots... Back away.”
The last part was spoken toward Dumbo and the others, as well as the numerous pseudo-Overdeities, who all promptly gathered at Jiang He’s side.
Then, Jiang He casually pointed a finger.
“Go, blow up that bunch of morons!”
Thirty of the pseudo-Overdeities stepped forward and dashed toward the twenty or so Grand Luo, all of them self-destructing once they got close.
Kaboom!
The entire Grand Luo battlefield quaked violently.
What the h.e.l.l!
w.a.n.g Hou and the Golden Armor General were utterly dumbstruck.
Likewise, Lord Moyin and Lord Skyless were completely bewildered as well.
Why on earth?!
Your side has complete advantage! We should be the ones self-destructing! What are you people blowing yourselves up for?!
“Again!”
Jiang He said flatly, and another thirty pseudo-Overdeities stepped forth.
Kaboom!
Once again, they self-destructed with no hesitation at all!
The two simultaneous explosions cut the twenty-over Grand Luo down to Moyin and Lord Skyless, who were basically dying as well.
w.a.n.g Hou was rendered speechless.
He felt a sense of déjà vu at the sight.
Explosion?
Jiang He had only done that too often back on Earth.
