Chapter 508: Time Acceleration Array
The Primeval Lord of Heaven gave Jiang He a look and flatly said, “The Three Gems Back Scratcher is an Innate Virtue Soul Treasure. You would never activate its might even if you took it with you.”
Being a Saint, how could he not see through Jiang He’s intentions?
On the other hand, Jiang He was not embarra.s.sed at all despite having his intentions uncovered, and smiled. “Don’t worry, Senior Primeval. I will return the Three Gems Back Scratcher when I leave the Hollow Jade Palace.”
Jiang He then offered a fist-palm salute in parting, and the Immortal Hermit of the South Pole led him away.
On the way...
“Tut, tut. I did not notice it on the way in, but the dimensions here are different.”
Jiang He clicked his tongue in wonder as he studied his surroundings.
“This is an alternate dimension.”
The Immortal Hermit of the South Pole puffed his chest with a smug look and smiled. “My master had cut it out from the depths of the celestial battlefield. It is quite unique as it only exists in the chaos deep within the celestial battlefield itself, but it is extremely erratic, and only Saints are capable of recultivating it.”
“It’s that troublesome?”
Jiang He asked with a perplexed look. “What good is it if it is such bother?”
“Perhaps you have not sensed it yet?’
“Sense what?”
Jiang He drew a blank.
What am I supposed to feel?
I just feel that the air is different from the outside compared to where the Primeval Lord of Heaven is. It seemed to be a world of its own, which was why I asked—and I am quizzed in return?
“A stable alternate dimension makes it easier to meditate on Dao.”
The Immortal Hermit of the South Pole stared at Jiang He as he said, “Saints can recultivate Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire, which was what my master had done. That is why this alternate dimension is already no different from an actual world, but the key difference is that my master had used many Saint methods so that the world and Dao here have greater affinity to each other, and any cultivator entering it would gain great enlightenment toward Dao... Eh?”
“Perhaps you did not feel anything, Brother Jiang He?”
“Huh?”
Jiang He did a double take.
Dao enlightenment?
Enlighten, my foot!
Jiang He felt as if he had been stabbed int the heart.
He himself wished that there was a day when he could experience the joys of cultivation... but his disposition was simply lacking.
Sigh!
“Yes, yes...”
And yet, there was no way he could expose himself before Chan Sect immortals, and so blushed and braced himself as he said, “I definitely felt a special enlightenment rising from veins of my feet shooting up to my head, but I didn’t really take notice... It’s because I have only started cultivating recently and have not had much meditation experience to fully utilize that opportunity.”
“...”
The Immortal Hermit of the South Pole opened his mouth, but eventually decided to stay quiet.
Returning to the yard, Jiang He entered the farm in a flash and called his maids, Dumbo, Trumbo, the Nine Wise Rock Monkeys, and the Seven Bottle Gourd Brothers to him, saying, “I’ve borrowed a mystic treasure from Elder Saint, which contains a time acceleration array. I cast it so that time in this entire area would be quickened, and all of you would get inside to cultivate your Overdeity divinity as soon as possible... by the way, who is holding on to the mystic treasures from those Golden Immortals and True Immortals?”
Jiang He remembered the hordes of Golden Immortals and True Immortals he had planted.
Half a year ago, those Golden Immortals and True Immortals would be a strong fighting force for Jiang He... but they now only amounted to that much.
Most importantly, they were all cultivators from the Hundred Races Alliance.
Their race had a tendency to have a death grudge against humans, and since Jiang He had just arrived at Primeval and was not too familiar with the environment, he found it uneasy to let them all out.
But that was not a problem now.
He hence chased them all inside the time acceleration array so that they would cultivate with the Overdeity divinities.
When they were done, their combat ability would at least match an average Grand Luo... which were nothing much individually.
However, was there anyone who would dare to underestimate over four hundred of them fighting as one?
Moreover, Zeus’s Overdeity divinity was included among the divinities being cultivated from.
Zeus controlled the power of thunder, and would not lose out to an average Demi-Saint.
And now, Jiang He had taken out ten of his Overdeity divinities and shared them among Dumbo, Trumbo, the Seven Bottle Gourd Brothers, and the others. If cultivation proved successful, he could develop ten elites who could match the best of Grand Luo-tier elites even if they would not best Zeus.
“Moreover, I don’t lack mystic treasures.”
“When the time comes, I’ll have over three hundred average Grand Luo and ten peak Grand Luo. Then, I could arm them to the teeth with premium-grade immortal items and some fusion arrays, so that we would stand a chance even if we were fighting the Nether River Patriarch.”
“Oh, and Little Willow... you are a willow tree and cultivating in pinnacle wood-element techniques, and would soon face your immortal retribution. You could take Demeter’s divinity to cultivate with—she is the G.o.d of Life and rules the aspect of wood.”
“Thank you, Master.”
In Jiang He’s Farm, the gigantic willow tree that blocked out the sky promptly turned into a young girl dressed in Lolita fashion and having two ponytails tied behind her head. She smiled sweetly at Jiang He before accepting Demeter’s divinity.
And the last was the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine, who was now Heavenly Immortal.
Naturally, it had taken a different path from Little Willow.
Little Willow was a plant being that transcended, whereas the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine was a special plant lifeform that a.s.sumed the path of evolution instead of gaining Dao.
The condition for it to evolve was very simple too—it was the endless devouring of other beings’ flesh.
Anything worked, from corpses of daemons or cultivators, even essences of other spirit plant beings...
But the truth was that having it evolve endlessly was extremely difficult.
Were the corpses of powerful daemons or cultivators that easily obtained?
It was only freaks like Jiang He who would find developing the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine easy.
As Jiang He landed beside the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine, numerous th.o.r.n.y tendrils extended toward him.
The Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine now had 256 tendrils, and in full stretch, each tendril would be a hundred meters thick and over 200 kilometers long. Therefore, though it was a Heavenly Immortal, not even True Immortals had an a.s.sured chance of besting it.
Still, its appet.i.te had grown after becoming Heavenly Immortal, having consumed no less than twenty True Immortals and Heavenly Immortals corpses, which it used to strengthen tis own lifeforce and its 256 tendrils.
After some testing, Jiang He found out that the tendrils of the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine could match inferior-grade immortal items in defensive ability, meaning that no True Immortal who were just a little weaker could tear it off. Most importantly, it had 256 of such tendrils—255 more were waiting even if you tore one off.
In addition, the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine’s lifeforce was so utterly frightening that the tendrils you had cut off before would have regrown before you could cut more off.
“If it reaches Grand Luo, the durability and damage that the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vines’ tendrils can unleash would match inferior-grade acquired soul treasures, allowing it to become a killing machine that could overwhelm crowds of Grand Luo. Having it cultivate as an Overdeity is definite a race of its innate talent as a special lifeform.”
Jiang He thought, and took out another one of Demeter’s divinity, saying, “Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine, this Overdeity divinity contains powerful lifeforce and Life Authority. Try and see if you can consume it.”
He casually threw out the Demeter Divinity, and it landed among the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vines’ tendrils.
Its tendrils hence rapidly shrunk until it could completely coil around the divinity.
In the next instant, a mild radiance shone and engulfed the entire Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine. As it brightened to a blinding intensity, the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine’s aura began to expand wildly, and it instantly ascended up to True Immortal from Heavenly Immortal.
Its 256 tendrils also split into 512 tendrils.
“Good!”
Jiang He’s eyes lit up then.
The powerful lifeforce and Life Authority in the G.o.d of Life’s divinity was enough for it to split its tendrils and then metamorphize them to its limit, allowing the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine to reach True Immortal.
And he still had several Overdeity divinities left.
Since the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine could consume them, what about other divinities?
Jiang He made a rough count.
He had over seven hundred of those...
“If I groom maids with these seven hundred over divinities so I could groom that many Grand Luo lackeys as well... but if I give them to the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine instead, it definitely would ascend up to Grand Luo-pinnacle or even Demi-Saint, and it could overwhelm flocks of Grand Luo given its uniqueness...”
Jiang He found a solution after some thought.
Hence, he dumped all the remaining Overdeity divinities to the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine before taking out the Three Gems Back Scratcher, which was the Primeval Lord of Heaven’s Innate Virtue Soul Treasure.
Kaboom!
Immortal yuan strength flowed.
The tiny jade back scratcher promptly rose to the air, and shone in dazzling light that erupted and shrouded half the Farm. A curious energy was flowing out from within, and being caught in the dazzling light, Jiang He could clearly feel how time flowed differently in the Farm.
He stepped out of the light and re-entered, sensing the energy closely for comparison before frowning. “Time flows at the ratio of one to one hundred. A day outside is a hundred days inside...”
That was a little slow!
Jiang He felt a little helpless just then.
He understood nothing about the Dao of time, or he would have made time flow quicker so that a day outside was a year inside. Most of his lackeys would therefore be able fully cultivate their Overdeity divinities, and when that was done, he could lead an army of Grand Luo to reason things out with the Nether River Patriarch on Sura.
Would the geezer dare to say no then?
“1:100 of time acceleration... it would take around a year for them to fully cultivate...”
“Hmmm...”
“Do I have to stay in the Hollow Jade Palace for a year?”
Jiang He promptly felt a headache at that. “And here I was thinking I should refine all the Body Honing Pellets I could and then get a batch of rank-eight Dao Enlightenment Pellets from Lü Dongbin... and if those eight Dao Enlightenment Pellets could be ma.s.s-produced, I would earn more Farm Points than from the Body Honing Pellets.”
Musing to himself for a while, Jiang He stepped out of his farm, a plan taking shape in his mind.
He went to the True Habitant of Yu Ding, took out a few Spatial Rings and said, “Brother Yu Ding, there’s a hundred million immortal crystals in here. Could I trouble the Hollow Jade Palace to help me purchase a batch of ingredients for refining Body Honing Pellets?”
“Eh?”
The True Habitant of Yu Ding did a double take before exclaiming in surprise, “Why would you need so many Body Honing Pellets, Brother Jiang He?”
“To perfect my pellet refinement technique, of course. Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes...”
Jiang He noncommittally cooked up another excuse, saying, “By the way, are you acquainted with Lü Dongbin, Brother Yu Ding?”
“Lü Dongbin?”
The True Habitant of Yu Ding thought about it and asked, “Do you mean the Celestial Court’s Duke of Dong Mu?”
The Duke of Dong Mu?
Jiang He then remembered... Lü Dongbin was an reincarnation of Lord of Dong Hua, a high-ranked official of the Celestial Court, who also went by the t.i.tle of the Duke of Dong Mu.
He nodded.
“That’s easy.”
The True Habitant of Yu Ding smiled. “My disciple has a post at the Celestial Court, and I could ask him to contact the Duke.”
Done!
Jiang He was delighted.
As such, he left the matter of gathering materials for the Body Honing Pellets to the immortals of the Hollow Jade Palace.
What awaited was to get his hands on the Dao Enlightenment Pellets, and his ascension up to Demi-Saint would be a.s.sured!
