Chapter 214: The Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine Evolves again

“There’s no rush to plant a teacher for now, so we could put that on hold while I check online for a hot teacher to plant.”
Jiang He collected his thoughts before continuing to plant Orirocks.
Now that his farm had expanded to three Mu, Jiang He planted all 280 Oririocks in one go.
At the same time, Dumbo continued to dig his holes.
While Jiang He planted the Orirocks, Trumbo would be burying and watering the holes behind him. By the time Jiang He planted the last Orirock, the Orirocks they planted at the start was already budding.
Still, Jiang He was rather surprised to find that this was unlike planting gold bullion trees, where only ten trees grew on each occasion and he had to chop down ten more for ten more to grow.
The Orirocks, on the other hand…
Thirty would grow on each occasion which greatly shortened planting timeframe, otherwise, since it takes two hours to harvest a single Orirock tree, at least sixty hours of non-stop harvesting was needed if the trees grew by a multiple of ten.
Though he was only in charge of burying the Orirocks and plucking them, the prospect of working 60 hours straight was horrific.
“This must be an effect after the farm leveled up. Still, the gold trees wouldn’t wither and it grows Yuanbao long-term. On the other hand, Orirocks would turn to ash on its own after harvest.”
That was a little miserable, since otherwise Orirocks would be no different from Yuanbao—only harvested once per week. Would it not have been a delight to earn three hundred thousand Farm Points in a week from those thirty trees?
“Eh…”
Jiang He remembered something else at the mention of ‘one week’, and exclaimed in surprise, “It’s already the fourteenth, over twenty days after the monthly reward on the twenty-fourth last month…”
“Where’s my weekly gift pack, System?”
Even Jiang He himself had forgotten about that.
Wasn’t he supposed to get a small gift pack every seven days and one big gift pack each month… but where was it?
After asking for half a day, his System did not react at all.
d.a.m.n it!
After several words of complaint, Jiang He frowned and said, “Could this be the same like games where I count as a newbie in the first month after I received the System… and there’s no gift pack rewarded once that pa.s.ses?”
“Forget it. It’s the same whether I have the gift packs, so it’s nothing to look forward to.”
In the meantime, it would be over an hour before the thirty Orirocks grew, and Jiang He went to a corner of the wall after some observation.
At the corner of the Farm, oily-green clumps of grave gra.s.s had grown out of the five graves.
“Are those the Sky Demon Cult’s Heavenly Generals that were bombed to death by the potato landmines?”
There was nothing happening at the other graves, however.
Jiang He nodded to himself subtly. It seems that his hunch was right—the Heavenly Generals were rank-seven, and it meant there was a three-level gap his level 4 farm.
The reason last time the grave gra.s.s would grow last time was mostly likely because of the farm leveling up.
“Planting human corpses seem to be chickenfeed, which doesn’t help me much, not to mention that the grave gra.s.s is too unhygienic… It would be acceptable if it’s something like the Sword Will Barrenwort, but I’m never eating the grave gra.s.s since all it helps is awaken superpowers, although it’s not bad for training pets.”
“As for farm level… I could use the fact that grave gra.s.s would grow out of powerful corpses and use that well.”
That was when a weird sound could be heard.
Jiang He turned to find that the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine’s tendrils were swaying after consuming its half of the Red Toad King’s corpse, growing wildly!
At first, the nine 100 meters long tendrils of the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine were elastic and capable of constriction. The spikes hidden beneath it were almost rank-nine in penetration too.
And now, after consuming half of a Feral King, the tendrils grew up to 150 meters long and even thicker than its arm-wide size before.
A cool glimmer glinted on the spikes over the leaf beneath the tendrils.
Jiang He walked up, allowing the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine to attack him.
Swish!
The nine 150 meters tendrils promptly retracted to ensnare Jiang He, instantly forming a green cage that rapidly shrank, its many spikes stabbing down on Jiang He…
Crack!
A soft, clear sound echoed as untold spikes were broken by Jiang He’s overwhelming physique.
After feeling out the horrific constriction strength of the nine tendrils of the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine, Jiang He exclaimed in surprise, “Not bad. You could first restrain your target before you kill them, and probably even the best of rank-nine elites would be killed by your coils.”
“Still, that’s no different from a ma.s.sage for me.”
The Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine loosened its coils at that.
Jiang He checked his body to find little red spots on its body, caused by the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine’s spikes.
Jiang He nodded in surprise, saying, “The spikes has powerful penetration that not even combat suits made with S-grade alloys or rank-nine elites bad at defense could stop.”
“Generally speaking, however, it’s still lacking… I still have a few Feral King corpses, and you should seize the moment to evolve and reach divine-tier as soon as possible.”
The Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine extended a tendril to touch Jiang He.
Its ‘sentience’ seemed to have fully developed, and it could only communicate its thoughts by using its tendril to touch Jiang He.
Nonetheless, what surprised Jiang He was that he could clearly read its thoughts.
“You’re saying that you’re stuffed and need days to digest?”
“Eh?”
Suddenly, Jiang He’s expression turned dark as he slapped away the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine, barking, “What the h.e.l.l? I’ve just put you back in the farm for an hour and you’re trying to get inside me again?”
In response, the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine curled into itself, and even its tendrils and leaves seemed listless then.
Jiang He ignored the Cloudsc.r.a.per Vine, and whipped out his mobile phone instead, dialing Three Blades Lin’s number.
Though it was very late, Three Blades Lin soon answered.
Over on the other end, the man chuckled, “Did you leave the Secret Realm already, Jiang He? Was your trip to the Secret Realm fruitful?”
“Fruitful, my foot!”
Jiang He yelled, “Don’t call me up for something like that next time. Did you know how I had to pa.s.s those seven days locked inside the Secret Realm?”
“If the Diamond Sect disciples didn’t enter the Secret Realm with us so that I could beat them up every day, I would have lost my mind!”
Three Blades Lin: “…”
He was left silent for over five seconds before exclaiming in surprise, “Jiang He, you actually beat up the Golden Sect disciples? Wouldn’t their elites bother you?”
“They didn’t!”
Jiang He laughed. “Others notwithstanding, the Diamond Sect are good hosts. Their divine-tempest tier Iron Staff Lama, the high monks as well as the head monk of the Diamond Sect himself came to welcome us, and he personally escorted me on the way back. Even their guru asked if I needed help, saying that they would help me get rid of the Golden-Winged Roc.”
“h.e.l.lo?”
“You still there, Old Lin? Why aren’t you saying anything?”
Jiang He yelled into the phone for a long time before Three Blades Lin finally answered stiffly, saying, “Are you kidding me? What rank is the guru, and not only did he not blame you for beating up the Golden Sect disciples, he even offered to help you?”
Jiang He shook his head. What is wrong with the world that no one believes the truth now?
Not bothered to explain himself, Jiang He asked, “What’s the situation with the Golden-Winged Roc, Old Lin?”
“It learned that you killed the Violet-Crowned Golden Eagle and the Golden-Crowned Black Eagle as well as steal its eggs around three days ago, so it was about to go on a rage-fueled rampage. However, Minister w.a.n.g, Master Dong and Elder Luchan stopped it.”
Three Blades Lin replied, “Though I wasn’t there, certain images captured later showed that there might have been a serious battle. Mountains that were over four thousand meters crumbled, with glaciers collapsing and endless avalanches.”
“Hold on…”
That was not Jiang He’s concern, and he asked, Master Dong, as in Dong Haichuan, the founding master of the Eight Trigrams school?”
As Three Blades Lin replied with an affirmative, Jiang He then asked, “What about Elder Luchan? Who is he?”
“One of the handful of Void-tier elites in the country now. He hails from the same generation as Master Dong and has a connection to Mount Wudang, one of the five Holy Grounds… guess he counts as a disciple!”
A person from the same era as Dong Haichuan and has a connection to Mount Wudang?
One name come to Jiang He’s head in an instant: Yang Luchan!
After all, Jiang He had watched a lot of shows about Yang Luchan, such as the recently popular Taichi Master available online and the G.o.dly Beggar which was made years ago, hence learning about Yang Luchan feats such as stealing the Chen family’s fists technique and becoming the peerless champion of the capital.
Meanwhile, Three Blades Lin continued over the phone, “Anyway, the Golden-Winged Roc developed intelligence over a hundred years ago, and is so powerful that even Minister w.a.n.g, Master Dong and Elder Luchan could not defeat him even when fighting it together. And with the Dragoncroc joining the fray later, they had to give up and promised the Golden-Winged Roc so that it was allowed to resolve its grudge against you personally—as you’ve insisted.”
“The Golden-Winged Roc is that powerful?”
Jiang He was quite surprised, but soon smiled, saying, “Old Lin, relay my message to Minister w.a.n.g that I’ll go to the Golden-Winged Roc’s nest in around two or three day and have a heart-to-heart with it, and we’ll discuss about me killing its lovers and stealing its children.”
After hanging up, Jiang He looked up at the Orirock trees that were now almost three meters tall.
They had already borne fruit, with Orirocks dangling on the tip of the branches and flickering in crystalline radiance beneath the moonlight with astonishing beauty.
[Ding!]
[+100 Farm Points]
Jiang He rose to his feet to pluck one Orirock while killing intent appeared in his eyes and he sneered, “d.a.m.n you, Golden-Winged Roc. I’ve merely killed your two mistresses and stole your eggs, and you would start a war over that. There’s no telling how many innocent lives would perish because of me if Minister w.a.n.g and the others hadn’t stopped you…
“Such a blight must not be allowed to remain!
“Killing and grilling it are only right!”
