What is the difference between love and liking someone? How do they differentiate the two?

Sure, we've heard about b.u.t.terflies, we've heard about having continuous thoughts of them, but does that mean you're in love?

I want to know the feeling of being genuinely in love. I want to wake up to "good morning beautiful" along with a kiss on the forehead. I want someone to show me off to their friends and say, "I hit the jackpot with finding her". I want his friends to be jealous of our relationship. I want to wait for him to come home and ask about his day and he'll tell me all about his horrible boss.

I look up at the bookshelf full of books in my room, "I don't want to be a damsel in distress, to fall in love. I can slay the dragon on my own. But maybe we can fall in love by slaying the dragon together?"

I sigh as I look back at my computer.

Is this love? No matter how rude he is, no matter how many females he talk to, no matter how conceded he is; I can't tell him to f.u.c.k off and not have "b.u.t.terflies". If it really is b.u.t.terflies.

Maybe I think I'm attracted to him because he's the first guy to show me attention. Maybe he actually likes me? Maybe I'm just another notch in his belt of a girl gullible of thinking he feels something for him.
