Chapter 1350: Black Strange Tree
“This is already in the Inner Abyss. The Tower of Demon Abyss is in the center. I consume quite a lot of spiritual power for channeling the Celestial Tablet before, so I’ll rest first. Summon me again after you pa.s.s through this barren plain. Also, be careful of these black pillars.” Before Liu Ming could speak, Mo Tian left such words and returned to Liu Ming’s body together with Celestial Tablet.
Hearing this, Liu Ming was not in a hurry to move forward, but after pondering for a moment, he looked forward with flickering eyes.
After a while, he frowned slightly.
Upon closer inspection, the black stone pillars that could be seen everywhere in this barren plain were actually some kind of super-large plants with a diameter of several meters. They were formed by countless black vines twisted together, then they went straight into the black mist in the sky.
In addition, at the front end of the plain, a large area surrounded by black fences could be vaguely seen. Even though it was at least hundreds of miles away, he could still feel the astonishing corpse aura coming from it.
The closer he was to the black fence, the denser the black stone pillars became.
Zhao Qianying’s ears twitched a few times, furrowed slightly, and said,
“I have never seen these stone pillar plants, but although they are plants, they contain a menace and brutal life breath. Really strange.”
“Have you noticed that there isn’t even a single demonic creature here?” Liu Ming suddenly asked.
“Yeah. Brother Liu, do you mean… it has something to do with these stone pillars?” Zhao Qianying was startled.
“If I’m not mistaken, the demonic creature in the mist sea should also be afraid of these stone pillars. That’s why they entrench in the mist sea.” Liu Ming said slowly.
Zhao Qianying looked solemn upon hearing this.
“Let me try it!” After a while. However, the woman raised the purple-patterned short bow and aimed at the black stone pillar closest to them.
As she uttered crisp and clear incantation, the bow was ignited with black flames.
“Wait!”
Liu Ming suddenly thought of something, and he hurriedly stopped her.
Zhao Qianying’s delicate body trembled, but she still stopped the incantations and looked at Liu Ming with doubts.
“Wait here. I will be back soon.”
When the word “soon” was said, Liu Ming’s body was wrapped in lightning, then he dashed into the black mist sea.
Before Zhao Qianying could ask anything, Liu Ming had disappeared, which puzzled her. After looking back at the black stone pillar in the distance, she stomped her feet and put down her bow helplessly.
After only about 5 minutes, the black mist behind rolled violently, Liu Ming wrapped with lightning flashed out of it.
He was holding a demonic ape about 9 meters in size. Its cultivation was roughly at the Celestial State early stage.
The ape’s eyes were closed tightly as if it had been knocked out by Liu Ming’s punch. However, its sign of life was still strong.
Liu Ming didn’t say anything to Zhao Qianying. He appeared at the nearest stone pillar and threw the ape toward the black stone pillow.
At the same time, he moved back instantly while spurting a cl.u.s.ter of black air at the ape.
When the black air hit the ape, it woke up suddenly.
But at the next moment, when the ape glanced at the black stone pillars that were close at hand, it was scared witless. Black air emerged around it as it tried to turn around and escape.
But it was too late.
The motionless black stone pillar seemed to be alive when the ape released black air.
Then an incredible scene appeared!
The entire black stone pillar suddenly bent toward the monkey. The upper end, which was originally submerged in the black mist, was revealed. It was a huge black flower bud.
The buds bloomed into 3 petals.
Black lights flashed!
Dense black silks shot out from the flower buds in a flash, piercing through the gray ape that was about to escape and entangling it tightly!
A trace of despair flashed in the eyes of the gray ape. Before it could utter a wail, it was pulled back into the black flower bud, then the 3 petals closed and the flower bud rose back into the black mist again.
The whole process took only 2 seconds. When the black flower bud was submerged in the black mist above, Liu Ming had just returned to Zhao Qianying’s side.
At this moment, Zhao Qianying was dumbfounded with a wide-opened mouth.
She had seen this gray ape before in the black mist sea. Its defense was much stronger than the flat carca.s.s vulture, and its agile figure made it troublesome to deal with.
But the black thread of the black flower bud could easily penetrate the monkey’s defense, which shows how deadly it was.
There was 1 of these strange black stone pillars for every 300 meters in this barren plain. No wonder not a single demonic creature could be seen in this area.
“These stone pillar plants should be extremely sensitive to demonic qi. Once anything gets close to their attack range, even the Celestial State powerhouse may not be able to retreat safely. If several stone pillars are attacking at the same time, we can only wait for our own death. ” Liu Ming said flatly.
Hearing this, Zhao Qianying glanced ahead and nodded.
Liu Ming was right. It was still fine at the periphery. If they went little deeper, facing such dense black stone pillars, it would be impossible to make a detour. Even the Mystic Comprehending State cultivator might not pa.s.s this area safely.
“Brother Liu, can you think of any way to get through this barren plain?” Zhao Qianying thought about it for a while, but she couldn’t think of any good way, so she turned to Liu Ming.
Just as Liu Ming was about to speak, a black stone pillar in the depths weakened suddenly, then it dissipated after a few seconds.
The black mist in the sky tumbled for a while.
Rumble!
The forest of black stone pillars, which was originally motionless, seemed to be awakened in an instant. They slowly danced and twisted. At a glance, it looked like countless thick tentacles. The scene was horrifying.
Zhao Qianying’s pretty face paled. Liu Ming quickly grabbed Zhao Qianying and brought her to the ground.
Now that these strange plants had woken up, staying in the air would make them easy targets. It was safer to stay on the ground.
As soon as they landed, Zhao Qianying was too anxious that she activated the black flames on the purple-patterned short bow as if she was facing a formidable enemy.
“Don’t!”
Seeing this, Liu Ming immediately tried to stop it, but it was already too late.
Whoosh!
A nearby strange black tree seemed to sense something. The trunk bent and flew toward them. The black bud at the top spread open and shot black silks toward them.
There was a burst of whistling sounds!
Zhao Qianying shot a barrage of purple arrows.
A series of poof sounds occurred loudly!
The purple arrows collided with the incoming black silks, stirring a wave of purple light halo, but it didn’t slow down the black silks the slightest.
Liu Ming was startled. He had just seen the power of these black silks. Not only the penetration was strong, but if he was bound by the black silks, he was not sure that he could break free.
He grabbed Zhao Qianying, tapped his feed, and retreated swiftly. Simultaneously, he patted his left shoulder. Che Huan Totem flashed and covered them in a green light.
Poof poof poof!
The black silks almost brushed past the afterimages left by Liu Ming and shot into the black mist.
Then the black silks retracted back into the bud one after another. The black flower bud waved left and right, and the 3 petals closed and opened slightly as if it was sensing something.
After a while, it finally moved back slowly.
Liu Ming was delightedly surprised. They were not far away from the black strange tree just now, but it retracted after a blow. Che Huan Totem clearly hid their aura from being sensed by the black strange tree.
If this was the case, it shouldn’t be difficult to pa.s.s through the trees here.
“Thank you Brother Liu… What technique was that? Even these strange trees can’t sense us at all.” Zhao Qianying finally regained her composure, then she said with a smile.
“It’s just an ordinary concealment technique. Ms. Zhao doesn’t have to be so surprised.” Liu Ming smiled faintly.
Zhao Qianying’s beautiful eyes flashed without asking any more questions.
Now that they had found a way, they did not waste time here. After confirming that the strange trees couldn’t sense them, they gradually flew toward the black fence in a black phantom.
In the following time, the green phantom pa.s.sed through the black strange trees one after another without attracting their attention.
After flying several hundred meters, Liu Ming finally felt completely relieved. With a thought, the green phantom accelerated and flew toward the Inner Abyss swiftly.
The more they flew in, the denser the surrounding black strange trees became, and the branches became thicker. Some branches even exceeded 60 meters in diameter. Black flower buds grew on the black trunks.
Liu Ming was secretly startled. He channeled Che Huan Totem to the extreme, and the green phantom became dimmer, almost becoming one with the s.p.a.ce.
Time pa.s.sed bit by bit. They had already flown into the black forest for less than half an hour. Liu Ming calculated in his mind that they should have flown thousands of miles away. They were still half a distance away from the area surrounded by the black fence.
However, the black strange trees here stood quietly one by one. They didn’t wave randomly like the trees on the outside.
Liu Ming and Zhao Qianying looked at each other, and they both saw a trace of horror in each other’s eyes.
The Inner Abyss was indeed extremely strange and dangerous. If Liu Ming didn’t learn Che Huan Totem, it would be almost impossible for them to pa.s.s through here.
Suddenly, Liu Ming was astounded. There were bursts of fighting sounds in front, mixed with the screams of the demon cultivators.
“Ah!” A horrible scream sounded and stopped abruptly. It came not far from the left front.
