Chapter 66 - You Have Not Seen Her Dark Side

The following night, Li Luxian managed to gain an adequate amount of sleep. Perhaps, because Chen Yi was exhausted, she slept like a dead log. She didn't move around most of the night.

Of course, there were causal punches and kicks Li Luxian had to suffer. But other than that and having to give up the exclusive right on the blanket to his wife, things were rather looking good. Li Luxian managed to survive the night without being kicked out of bed. That was an accomplishment enough!

In the morning Li Luxian was in a fairly good mood. Chen Yi woke up and yawned. Stretching her body, she smiled. "Good Morning. Why do you look so happy?"

"Wife, we are having progress. I am sure if we continue, one day we would be able to sleep like a normal couple!" He appeared abnormally eager.

Chen Yi blinked at him. "Huh..." Why was he acting weird? Never mind, this Li family was always weird. In fact, she should be worried if he acts too normal.

"I have arranged for a place for you. Would you be staying there? I will ask my men to accompany you there."

"No need." Chen Yi shook her head. She sighed. "It's the last semester at the University. I want to stay in the dormitory and focus. After all, my progress in previous semesters has suffered a lot. I have to make up for all the losses this time." She needed to get strong. After all, that Mansion was only a fraction of what her Uncle and Aunt had stolen from her and her brother. There was a lot to be taken back. But before that, she must sharpen her abilities enough.

She could not use Li Luxian's name everywhere. She had told him she would take advantage of his name and influence but that was all talk. Back then, she had said those words to test him. Now that she had Li Luxian holding her back, she wanted to accomplish things on her own.

"I will support whatever you decide," said Li Luxian, his tone firm.

Chen Yi paused and glanced up at her husband who was so supportive of whatever decision she made. He claimed he liked her. As someone from the level as Li Luxian was, his actions were rather unexpected. Chen Yi had a fair number of encounters with those 'Young Masters' of rich families.

She was aware of their nature.

They had an ingrained sense of self-ent.i.tlement. If they liked a woman, and the woman rejected them or tried to 'play hard to get', these Young Masters wouldn't lower themselves to pursue the woman or wait for her to be ready.

If that woman was from a poor background, they would not hesitate to exploit their means and force that woman to comply with their wishes.

However, this Li Luxian...

He was very different. He was actually willing to wait for her. He actually respected her decisions.

She wondered whether it was because of the upbringing of his sweet mother Li Shanguaan. 

"What are you thinking." After dressing up for the work, now a handsome-looking Li Luxian in a formal business attire stood before Chen Yi. His elegance and striking personality could make anyone swoon over him in seconds. He waved his hands in front of a preoccupied Chen Yi on the bed.

"Ah...nothing. I was just wondering, you are blessed to have such a nice mother." She smiled.

"You think." He said before getting up and fixing his tie in front of the dressing table.

"Huh? What do you mean? Your mother is the nicest woman I have ever seen." Chen Yi sounded offended. 

Li Shanguaan was her idol! How dare that unfilial son not be like her and worshipped her!

"You have not yet seen her dark side." He said like an experienced old man who has suffered a million years of hardships that had matured him. 

"Dark side?" Chen Yi made a face. "I mean I understand that she proposed to beat you with a ladle if you bullied me but that's not dark enough."

"She...what?!" His face darkened.

Looking at Li Luxian's expressions, Chen Yi laughed. She was looking for an opportunity to tell him this and see his expressions.

After Chen Yi dressed up for the day, they both said their farewell to the sweet mother Li and young Brother Yuan. After taking permission from Li Guang, they headed out. However, unfortunately for them, there was yet another person they had to pa.s.s before having the liberty to leave.

When Chen Yi walked down the stairs, she saw a woman sitting elegantly over the couch. Her mannerism and demeanor were akin to a princess of a royal family. Chen Yi squinted her eyes.

"w.a.n.g Hualing..." Chen Yi said.

Li Luxian was still upstairs. His father had engaged him with some problems in his company. So Chen Yi decided to leave alone.

w.a.n.g Hualing, while still elegantly sitting over the couch, looked up and stared directly into Chen Yi's eyes: "Don't expect that now you have become Brother Li's wife on papers, I would take the initiative to greet you," said w.a.n.g Hualing with a bitter smile.

'Brother Li's wife on papers...' That statement seemed to imply that she was just a fake counterfeit and there was no real relationship between her and Li Luxian. That statement was already greatly undermining Chen Yi.

In response, Chen Yi smiled.

This w.a.n.g Hualing was certainly here to find trouble. 

"Since Ling Jie is older to me in age, then taking into account the order of seniority it must be me who shall take this initiative." Chen Yi smiled back at w.a.n.g Hualing.

Chen Yi knew her type. And she was aware of what sort of hopes her type had in their minds. w.a.n.g Hualing wanted to agitate Chen Yi and force her into doing something that would taint her image in front of the Li family. 

The best method to deal with her type was to never get provoked by their words.

Faced with Chen Yi's provocative smile, w.a.n.g Hualing's own smile vanished.
