Chapter 62 - If I Do Not Then What Aunt?

"Madam Chen, should we place the clothes you bought from the fashion show last week alongside your casual attire? This place is rather small so the wardrobe doesn't have much s.p.a.ce." A maid said.

Ye Zhouyan frowned, looking fairly unsatisfied. "No need to disturb me for such trifles. Just place them where you see fit. You should know that this place is a temporary arrangement. We should be returning to our rightful manor in a few days." Said Ye Zhouyan with confidence.

"Alright, Madam Zhouyan." The maid said energetically and returned to her work.

In the meantime, her phone rang. Looking at the caller's ID, Ye Zhouyan picked up the call eagerly: "Husband, did everything go smoothly? Has the magazine reported the incident? I bet that Chen Yi must already be panicking. I would love to see her pale face once she hears the news. She must be regretting crossing us." Ye Zhouyan chortled.

"You- Have you not checked the news yet?" Chen Yazhu's disoriented voice came from the other line.

Ye Zhouyan frowned. "Wh-What's wrong?" She picked up the undertone of panic in his voice.

"Ye Zhouyan!" Chen Yazhu erupted. "You a.s.sured me no one noticed the incident! How could you be so careless? Do you have any idea what sort of humiliation I had to suffer because of you? If you had at least told me that you made such a scene, I could have done something to restrict the reporters!"

"Reporters?" Immediately, all the color left Ye Zhouyan's face. "H-Husband, what are you talking about?"

"You still don't know. Great. Just great." Chen Yazhu laughed coldly. "Just turn on your TV and you will know at once." Saying so, he abruptly ended the call. A second later, he slammed his phone down in frustration. "d.a.m.n it! Cloudly Media! Who knew they would have a reporter hidden around our Manor? Just how could they have known that Chen Yi would be making a scene in there? No, this is not just a coincidence. I bet that has something to do with Chen Yi! She must have contacted the reporters in advance! F**k, that scheming vixen is truly shameless!" Chen Yazhu could not have expected that she would use such underhand tactics.

For him, it was alright as long as he used such methods. But when suddenly Chen Yi used the same methods, it became shameless and unscrupulous.

On the other side...

Ye Zhouyan was still frozen after her husband had abruptly ended the call. A minute later, she broke out of her stupor and frantically searched for the remote. With trembling hands, she switched the channel to the media channels.

To her horror, the magnificence of what she found totally stumped her.  "This is-" She was speechless.

It appeared to be while she was being discarded by the Manor security team, some reporters had recorded the whole incident. During that time Ye Zhouyan was out of her mind, barking whatever profanities came to her head. She was screaming on top of her lungs, resembling an uncultured crude from the countryside.

Her demeanor was totally disgraceful.

All of this was recorded and being shared on media multiple times. 

Not only that but the evidence that Ye Zhouyan and Chen Yazhu had been living in the Manor attained from Chen Yi exploiting illegal means had been totally exposed.

Not a few hours ago they were still making plans to tarnish Chen Yi's reputation but now it appeared their reputation had suffered an irreparable blow. 

The scene on the TV attracted many maids running up and down the apartment. They paused and gave curious glances to Ye Zhouyan whose face was turning greener by the moment.

"F**k, what the h.e.l.l are you all staring at?! Get the h.e.l.l out of here!" Her eyes reddened as she lost her temper.

She could not believe this was happening. How was she supposed to show her face in public again? Her circle of friends must be mocking her right now.

"Chen Yi!" Ye Zhouyan's fists tightened in anger. She wasted no time and grabbed her phone. With fuming ferociousness, she dialed her number.

While all of this was happening, Chen Yi was on her way back to the Li family residence. 

"So this is the surprise he talked about." Chen Yi scrolled through the news. Articles after articles were being written, all of them targetting Ye Zhouyan and Chen Yazhu. Chen Yi's lips curled up into a smile. She was about to click on one such article when a name appeared on her phone screen.

She frowned, cutting the call at once.

A second later, the call returned. Chen Yi cut again. It continued for five times before Chen Yi got irritated. "Some people never learn, do they?" She scoffed and contemplated whether to attend the call or block that obnoxious person.

In the end, she decided to pick up. The moment, she picked up she had to move the phone a few inches away from her ears. Because the person on the other side was screaming profanities like a maniac. 

Five minutes pa.s.sed until Ye Zhouyan finally slowed down a bit.

"...you. h.e.l.lo? h.e.l.lo? Are you even there? h.e.l.lo?"

Only once the profanities ended, Chen Yi decided to respond. "Yes dearest Aunt, sorry I muted you a while later. What were you saying just now? Can you repeat?"

Ye Zhouyan felt her mouth filling with blood. She had spent five minutes screaming all sorts of insults towards her and this Chen Yi didn't even listen to a word? Was she just talking to air?

Ye Zhouyan took a deep breath to control her anger. She felt like this Chen Yi had the ability to kill her with anger. "I am telling you, Chen Yi, have this all thing sorted. I know that it was you who was behind everything. I don't care, what you have to do, but have the media stop! If you do not..."

"If I do not then what Aunt?" Chen Yi's deep brown eyes glinted with light.. Her lips curled up into a sneer.
