Zhao Hua perked up, getting in a posture for receiving Direct Song words. But to everyone's shock, Director Song walked right past her. Not even stopping to look at her before halting his steps just as he approached Chen Yi.

Zhao Hua's smile froze while her entourage looked around, awkward and unsure what had happened.

"I believe someone who can pull off the role for the complex cast as this production can do a thousand times better than those famous names in the industry." Director Song pulled out his personal card. "Ms. Chen, today you have had me impressed. When talent meets opportunity, wonders happen. Someday I'll help you reach a level you truly deserve."

If it was someone else, speculations would go around that the Director had been smitten by the novice good looks to say such sweet words. All kinds of scandalous accusations would fly about. However, this was Directer Song. His reputation was cleaner than pure gla.s.s. And his eye only saw talent.

"What did she do? How is this possible?"

"Is she the one who is going to win the role?"

"Forget winning the role. It's winning the Director! If she smoothens her way to Director Song, it's a matter of time before she is cast in some big production and becomes the next big thing!"

"Don't tell me the auditioning crew didn't notice her tackiness? I mean, I mean, what was everyone saying just now?! Just look up her styling, totally lacking any cla.s.s!"

"Am I blind, how can I fail to see anything special?"

A word or two might have drifted into Director Song's ears because he said. "And I don't know how Ms. Chen managed to get Ms. Gu contact. Your profile did mention her. And I could not expect less. Gu Chiantao's countless accolades are not for show... her tastes were on point. Your makeup hits the mark. If only we could get Ms. Gu for the styling team for the production. Alas, our budget is limited and we can not afford her." He shook his head in regret.

The second Gu Chinatao name was said, the premise went silent. The next moment, it went ablaze with an uproar.

Who said Chen Yi had gotten her looks done from some third-cla.s.s stylist?

Who said she was unprivileged for not being attended by her company stylist?!

What was Fu Entertainment and who was Gu Chinatao?

If you could get Gu Chiantao to attend you, would you still spit at the small-time stylists they offer at those countless Entertainment industries like Fu Entertainment?!

Zhao Hua was still with shock. 

A few of them cast meaningful looks at Zhao Hua and stealthily distanced themselves from her. Zhao Hua who was once surrounded by a fan group soon found her alone and green with envy.

"Director Song, I'm grateful for your good intentions." Chen Yi let on a genuine smile. "However, what I want most is to work under you and make 'Dawn of Eternal Bloodl.u.s.t' into the next big thing."

She didn't say she wanted the role. She didn't ask for any favor. What she said was that 'to make 'Dawn of eternal Bloodl.u.s.t' into the next big thing.' Her words coincided with Directed Song, on point and hit him acutely at the heart.

That was what he wanted.

There were not many who realized the worth of the production. But he did. And he had a feeling that this girl also did. 

Director Song looked at Chen Yi with a different light in his eyes. He opened his mouth as if wanting to say something. But decided not to say it as he closed his mouth. He shook his head regretfully. "If fate wills, we shall work towards that purpose together." With those words, neither confirming nor denying, he walked away. 

Chen Yi didn't stay long. However, outside before she could find Zhang Yufan, Zhao Hua's entourage approached her. "Just what means you used to have gotten Gu Chiantao contact?" People who have no lower limits are predisposed to believing that others are like them.

Chen Yi looked back and smiled.

Zhao Hua was not angered. Instead, she appeared to be in a fairly good mood. "Yi Mei, you are still young, let me enlighten you on the ins and outs of the industry." She took the liberty to put her hand over Chen Yi's shoulder and smiled down at her condescendingly. "Showing off won't get you anywhere. Irrational pride would only harm you. Chen Yi's smile didn't even as much as falter as she said sternly. "Take your hand off me."

Zhao Hua's eyes narrowed. Taking her hand back, she laughed. "Since we are from the same company, I would do his favor of letting you know. Just give up. Pack your bags and go home. An attendant let out a whisper that the team has already concluded me for the role. Your efforts are useless."

Zhao Hua waited. But there was no sign of heartbreak from Chen Yi.

Chen Yi merely opened her lips and said. "If that's how it is."

Zhao Hua was stunned. She was certain Chen Yi must have utilized all her resources to get Gu Chinatao to do her for the shot. But not getting an ounce of disappointment from Chen Yi at her obvious failure, Zhao Hua was left with a feeling of dissatisfaction.

Pursing her lips she said, "The company arranged transport for me. I wouldn't mind Yi Mei tagging along. After all, it would be difficult for you to get a cab this late." Zhao Hua was obviously planning something vicious.

Chen Yi created a distance. "Thanks for your concern, I have someone waiting."

Zhao Hua looked unconvinced. At first, Chen Yi had the mind to not let anyone find out. She hoped to go for the car with Zhang Yufang after Zhao Hua left.

But Zhao Hua stood without having any signs of leaving with a determination at seeing the 'waiting' person for Chen Yi.

With a sigh, Chen Yi, knowing it would be impossible to shake off Zhao Hua, resumed her way back to Zhang Yufang.

Anyhow, Zhao Hua was just a small fry. There was no need to be so cautious around her.

Zhao Hua watched Chen Yi getting into some luxury convertible, a handsome man donned in all black opening up the door and acting as her chauffeur; her face gradually attained a shade of green as the car sped off. 

"What is this rubbish? Did you not say that this girl had a tight situation? How could she afford this?" Zhao Hua felt it was uncomfortable to breathe. To watch someone she had just walked all over casually enjoy a luxury she desired with the depth of heart left her scorched deep inside.

"That's odd. Maybe she hired them to look impressive before the selection teams?" Her a.s.sistant a.s.sessing Zhao Hua's mood said. "It's nothing worthy of concern. Just a lame attempt at looking cool. We should get back and give Manager Qin the happy news."

However, Xuan Wen stayed there for a bit longer. Looking in the direction where the car had sped off, he thought about something then turned around and left. 

Thi Chen Yi was not simple.
