Su Ye's jaw tightened a little as he forced down the memories. He flipped open his spellbook, but he didn't take the time to look at the new magic message. Instead, he looked at the lists of cla.s.ses for both last year and this year!

Su Ye stared at his curriculum. His face grew rigid, and his expression went blank.

Su Ye finished counting the long catalog. His mental state nearly crumbled.

5

There was a buzz in his head. He felt like his skull was about to explode.

He had thought that the education system on the Blue Star was terrifying enough, but compared to the Plato Academy where they were expected to complete fifty-five courses in a year, his previous education might as well have been a preschool.

And this was just the second year. Who knew how many more cla.s.ses he would have to take next year. Would he have to take a hundred cla.s.ses during his final year?

1

Who could deal with this!

At this moment, a sentence played through Su Ye's brain.

“Aunt, I don't want to work hard anymore,” he thought.

2

The curriculum pressed down on Su Ye like a giant hand. He had tried his best to survive, only for a reward like this? Plato Purgatory?

“Teachers of Plato Academy, please be humane!” Su Ye groaned.

Before this moment, he had felt that the original Su Ye had been an underachiever. However, now that he had seen the curriculum, he didn't know how much better he could have done at fifteen years old.

3

Still mentally reeling, Su Ye thought about his cla.s.smates.

Some of the students had pa.s.sed the talent test. They either had Warrior Talents or Magical Talents. Plato Academy waived their school fees and even gave them an allowance for daily expenses.

Some of the other students admitted were the descendants of powerful mages or warriors.

A third group had entered the academy using the influence of their family or relatives with powerful backgrounds.

Hort had been recommended by the military and was considered a rare exception.

The last batch were people like Su Ye, whose parents had spent a large amount of money to buy them the right to attend.

In Plato Academy, students like Su Ye were discriminated against as low cla.s.s.

However, most of the parents who had paid for their children to enter Plato Academy had also educated their children in various subjects from a young age. Thus, their grades were all rather high.

But Su Ye hadn't been educated in his youth.

Whenever he had nothing to do, he had gone to play at Piraeus Harbor. He had lived a leisurely life until he was fifteen.

3

His childhood was joyful.

His teenage years were a tragedy.

1

“I must be dreaming, but this dream is horrifying. Please let me wake up…”

Su Ye closed his eyes and thought silently for a long time. When he opened his eyes, Teacher Niedern was standing on the stage and rambling on in the Egyptian language. Su Ye didn't understand a word that the man said.

Su Ye couldn't believe that his life was this pitiful. He rubbed his eyes and looked once again at the curriculum on his spellbook. He counted the cla.s.ses one by one.

“Fifty-five.”

1

A nightmarish number.

Su Ye suddenly had a bad premonition. He tried his best to recall what he had learned last year.

Ultimately, he realized that he couldn't remember any information. All his brain remembered were two feelings.

The first was that he was too tired.

The second was that it was too difficult.

“What did you do all year?!” Su Ye screamed at himself in his heart. He wanted to drag the Athenian youth out of his memories and give him a harsh beating.

11

Su Ye's heart was filled with a mixture of fury and grief. Everyone had alternating periods of hardship and ease in their lives. However, Su Ye felt that he had been handed a tumultuous journey from start to finish. There was no end!

Su Ye wanted to return to the previous day and find Lawrence once again. He wanted to lay down on the ground, close his eyes, and tell Lawrence, “I have no money, but I do have my life! Do a good deed and cut me down!”

3

After daydreaming for a long time, Su Ye finally came back to his senses.

He lowered his head and saw that his thumb and index finger had approached each other, but they hadn't made contact.

“I still need to practice. I've let this mountain of cla.s.ses rattle me, which has made me forget the habits I've developed over the years.”

Sometime later, Su Ye once again asked the famous question by Alan Lakein. It was the same question he had asked himself many times over the years.

“What's the most important thing that I should be doing at this point in time?”

“Studying?”

“I need another option!” Su Ye roared in his heart.

3

Su Ye had suffered an unprecedented setback. Something burned in his chest, like there was a ball of flames under his ribs.

Su Ye suddenly closed his eyes and started to breathe deeply. He set aside his attempts to plan, his chaotic thoughts, the decisions that needed to be made. He focused his senses on the tightness in his chest, allowing his mind to explore the sensation in great detail.

He focused on his body.

Slowly, Su Ye's breathing got steadier.

Not long after, he opened his eyes again. His gaze was clear.

“What should I be doing at this point in time?”

“Hmm… I understand.”

Su Ye flipped open the spellbook and changed the setting so that only he could see its contents. He then started writing and drawing in the book.

Su Ye finally heaved a long, comfortable sigh after half of the lesson had pa.s.sed.

“Most of the things that the original Su Ye could have learned are lost to me, but the knowledge that I transferred over from my past life can still be used.”

1

Su Ye had begun to make sense of things. Not only had his eyes become clearer, but a new sense of purpose seemed to glow within them.

“I now have a direction and a goal. Now that I have ascertained my ident.i.ty and reviewed my situation thoroughly, I have to start scaling up from the bottom.”

Su Ye once again flipped open the curriculum. The corner of his lips twitched slightly, but it instantly returned to normal.

“If I want to pa.s.s, I have to be extremely clear about the rules of the exams at Plato Academy.”

Su Ye started flipping through the explanation regarding the examinations. He heaved a sigh of relief after he finished reading the explanation. It seemed like the inhumane teachers of Plato Academy also knew that it was unrealistic to make every student grasp all of this knowledge. Thus, they had set up many different methods that students could use to pa.s.s.
