"Hah!" hearing the voice that he would usually find a bit annoying for waking him up from sleep, Chrome almost jumped out of bed, slightly panting as if he had just went through a 1 mile run…
"Mom!"
"You don't need to shout that loud if you just want to continue sleeping, I will just leave you be… but don't come complain to me when your sleeping schedule is ruined!"
Chrome opened his eyes wide as he stared at his mother, still unsure if it was just him hallucinating, at this point and after what he went through, he didn't know what was real anymore…
"Why are you staring at me like that?! G.o.d! Did you really want to sleep that much?! Whatever, suit yourself, breakfast is ready if you want to join us though…" mistaking Chrome's frantic stare as a strange angry reaction of his, Chrome's mother, Sarah, left the room, turning off the light before leaving…
'Calm down… let's a.s.sess the situation first…'
Since he was still a believer in the fact that panicking and throwing guesses around before calmly thinking about it is just a useless waste of energy, Chrome started to regulate his breathing as he looked around first…
'This is my bed alright.'
Despite the light being off, Chrome was able to affirm that he was in his familiar bed that was situated in his familiar room, his heart felt a lot more lighter as he finally affirmed his doubt.
'I'm back!'
As far as he remembered, in the abnormal dream or whatever it was, he had cried his heart out from due to the fear of having to live through that reality alone for the rest of his life, combined with the horribly sad feedback that the strange alter thoughts his mind was giving him, as he tried as hard as possible to fall back asleep to run away from the unknown…
However, the bed he slept on was actually his parents' and not his, so alongside the appearance of his mother who came to wake him up just now, Chrome decided that these clues were enough to a.s.sume that he was back from that black reality!
Taking a tissue from the box that was on the desk beside his bed, Chrome wiped off the sweat from his face as he hastily left room to confirm one more thing…
"Oh Chrome, you actually woke up this time… I'm impressed." hearing his father's familiar voice, who was sitting on the table beside his mother as they still didn't start eating breakfast, probably waiting for him like they usually did for a few minutes, Chrome took fast steps towards his parent's side of the table as he hugged them both from behind…
"Oh my, what's the celebration worthy occasion for this to happen…" Sarah smiled lightly as used her arms to return a semi-hug to her son who seemed to be behaving unusually today…
"It's nothing, I just wanted to tell you both that I love you…" Chrome hastily retrieved his arms as he felt a bit shy about his impulsive actions and words that seemed to come out of nowhere, at least from the view of his parents that is…
"Alright, alright, just sit down and let's enjoy this breakfast together," Adam, Chrome's father, said while smiling, before muttering, "Don't forget to check if he has a fever later, Sarah…" in a slightly audible voice…
"Dad!"
"I just couldn't help it, seriously though, what's different today?" Adam asked as he put a piece of fried egg in his mouth…
"I just had a bad dream," Chrome answered as he quickly changed his response, "Actually, scratch that, it was a nightmare…" as he remembered all the abnormal things that took place in that distorted reality…
"Wow, it must have been quite a bad one if it scared our big boy Chrome to behaving this way," a slightly surprised expression covered Adam's face as he continued, "maybe I should be thankful for that..."
Knowing that it was just his father's nature to joke around this much, Chrome wasn't bothered by it that much as he instead enjoyed the family socializing which he had imagined how his life would be without it in that alter reality, as only then did he know how much was he missing…
As Chrome spent the whole day with his mom and dad who happened to be both on a day off, he realised that there was a lot that he missed out on as he, for once, felt that life wasn't just about staying most of the time in his room, reading or playing on his phone, fishing out for empty enjoyment…

'There's nothing to fear…'
As time is usually spent fast when one used it on enjoyable thing, it didn't take long before the night came, and it was time to sleep once again…
While he did try to completely forget about what happened in that dream, he couldn't totally do that, he just did his best to hide his anxiety, but with the many incomprehensible memory fragments that were still looming in his mind, even that was hard to do…
'Whatever it is, my reality is still there!'
However, with the rea.s.surance that came from him coming back to his normal life this day, Chrome believed that this dream world was no longer that scary… In fact, it could count as an interesting dream that allowed him to stay awake for more time as long as it wasn't the only 'World' that he would have to live in, as well as when these annoying fragments stopped haunting his mind…
"Goodnight, Chrome, have a good sleep!"
"Goodnight mom!" wishing his mother a good night in return, Chrome closed his eyes, totally carefree about what he would wake up to, as he no longer hesitated to fall into deep sleep…

"Ah… I'm back here as expected…"
Waking up this time to find himself in his parents' bed, it didn't take Chrome long to understand that he was once again back to this strange reality…
'It's different this time though…'
Not only did Chrome feel that he already went through some time of normal sleep and dreaming this time, but his mind also wasn't a.s.saulted with a ton of incomprehensible information…
In fact, he still had the fragments he received from last time, but they were getting more and more understandable by the second, becoming more apparent as they no longer felt like a useless amount of trash that just crowded his mind.
'I'm not sure about the memories, but the dream occurrence sequence might be related to my sleep schedule…'
Unlike the last time when he had stayed up till midnight reading, this time he had went to bed early at 10 PM just like the rest of the house did for the first time in a while, so Chrome believed that this might be the reason that he got to enjoy a bit of a normal sleep before finding himself here…
'Let's first go through some of these memories first…'
Apparently, the general understanding that Chrome had, at this point from the less broken information he got, was that he was currently in place of a parallel personality of his…
This Chrome, much like him, was just an ordinary person, he wasn't that average though, as he was still in the special cla.s.s, just like the current chrome was, being just slightly better than the normal, getting slightly better grades, and performing slightly above average in most of the things he tried… but, he was far from being extraordinary in any of the things he tried as well…
This didn't actually pose much of a problem to the current Chrome as this was how the world went, not everyone would be a genius… However, for the Chrome that seemed to be the source of these transmitted memories and feelings, this was actually close to h.e.l.l…
In this Extraordinary world, where everyone had special abilities or even a moderately high Exos rate, Chrome actually had one of the lowest Exos emission ratings along with the lowest Exos growth rate…
In the normal world, even those that had no special talents could still succeed as long as they put more effort in the right place, however, there was no such thing in this world as long you didn't have the suitable Exos rates or a decent special ability…
'I understand you now…'
After going through this short yet hazy memory recap, part of the emotions that had overwhelmed Chrome yesterday made sense now, as he could tell that was probably how he would react if he was this world's Chrome…
'Wait… right… the pill!'
Remembering the thing that made him feel so much longing for, Chrome ran out to search for it as he seemed to have thrown it somewhere the day before in the midst of his panic…
'Oh right! By the door!'
Finally checking at the most logical location he could have thrown it at, Chrome found the small box laying before the door.
'Ah… what did I do, throwing something this precious…'
Just like that big guy Fred had said the day before, the 'Awakening Pill' was actually quite the pricey resource, but it wasn't impossible to get if you put some effort into earning money and getting it, at least when compared to how impossible it was to get an ability without a good Exos ratings even if one used a pill… of course, there was also the time needed to get enough money for the pill as one of the things to consider…

Opening the box that seemed somewhat similar to a watchbox to find a medical pill that was quite similar to the normal pills with the only difference being that it gave a bit an alluring shine that made it look desirable, Chrome only took a few seconds to fast-read the small piece of paper that accompanied it before taking the pill and walking to the kitchen to grab a cup of water before…
'Here goes nothing!'
Swallowing the pill with a mouthful of water in antic.i.p.ation…
