“He’s my husband’s friend.” “Oh? Su Wen, you’re married?”
“Yes.”
Su Wen parked her bicycle at the entrance of the supply and marketing cooperative. Li Xiaolian would take care of it. She would cycle on the other to school.
She had not seen Su Xue and her Fifth Sister since she transmigrated. Once she arrived at school, she could always ask campus security if they knew someone called Su Xue. Surprisingly, Su Wen did not need to provide the security guard with any details regarding Su Xue.
“Who wouldn’t know Su Xue and her sister? They have the best grades! Go on in. You can go and look for them.”
“What do you mean I can look for them?” Su Wen did not know how to.
How could she when she had never met her Fourth and Fifth Sisters? Wouldn’t she be embarra.s.sing herself if she called the wrong person her sister?

How could she when she had never met her Fourth and Fifth Sisters? Wouldn’t she be embarra.s.sing herself if she called the wrong person her sister?
“It’s fine. You look like a good person. Go on.” The security guard kept a watchful eye out for hooligans and riff-raff, not bothering the parents of students who sought entry into the school compound.
“Then… Alright!” If she had known that the security guard would answer her as such, she would have taken a less direct approach.
Su Wen pedaled on her bicycle, shuttling back and forth. She eyed the rows of large tile-roofed houses. They were not fancy multi-storied buildings, but the layout and natural lighting seemed good, though Su Wen thought it would be cold in winter.
Su Wen admired the campus and its nostalgic surroundings. The people who pa.s.sed by her would peer at her curiously.
“Eh? Is that a new teacher? She’s beautiful!”
“Hmm. That bicycle looks nice. It’s pretty new, too, from what it looks like.”
“She must be a new teacher. I’m guessing she’s a music teacher.”
Students were out and about, enjoying their afternoon break. Su Wen stopped a male student and asked him for help.
“h.e.l.lo, do you know Su Xue and Fifth Sister?”
The male student stuttered, “I…”
Just as he was about to answer, another spoke up on his behalf, saying, “I know! ”
Su Wen turned around, coming face to face with a tall, slender boy in a short-sleeved shirt. He was handsome with a little something else mixed in. She arched a brow. Seeing an ordinary middle school student with the boy’s disposition was a surprise.
While Su Wen was sizing Sheng Nian up, Sheng Nian did the same with her, his expression serious with his lips tightly pursed. He was trying to figure out whether Su Wen had a hidden agenda. He had heard of Fifth Sister’s family situation. Things were difficult, or so he heard, and it was obvious this woman had come from out of town.
“That’s great. Do you think you could call them for me?” Su Wen asked with a pleasant smile.
“Who are you? Why are you looking for them?”
“Oh, where are my manners? My name is Su Wen; Su Xue and Fifth Sister are my younger siblings. ”
“You’re their older sister?” Sheng Nian cried out in surprise but quickly regained his composure, vigilance transforming into reserve and discomfort.
“Yup! I’m their older sister.” Su Wen’s eyes glinted knowingly as she watched the young man’s emotions transform. An interesting possibility popped into her mind.
Was he in a relationship with either of them?
Who was it? Did he like Su Xue or Fifth Sister?
Sheng Nian felt Fifth Sister’s older sibling seemed rather intimidating. Thankfully, he possessed a stalwart mind, which helped him moderate his emotions. On the surface, he continued to appear aloof.
“h.e.l.lo. I’m Sheng Nian, Fifth Sister’s cla.s.smate.” The young man introduced himself politely.
Su Wen’s age made it seem like she was Su Xue and Fifth Sister’s mother rather than a sibling. If she had not said anything, no one would have believed otherwise. The male student, whom Su Wen had stopped earlier, echoed Sheng Nian’s polite greeting.
“I’ll have to trouble you to call them. If it’s a bother, I can always ask someone else.” Su Wen carefully studied Sheng Nian’s expression.
The smile he wore oscillated between cold indifference and a warm smile.
So he had feelings for Fifth Sister!
