Ren Zhouyuan was so shocked that he didn't know how to react at all.

Leonid seemed to not know that Ren Zhouyuan was another father of An An.

He quickly a.n.a.lyzed the situation. Leonid seemed to have recognized him long time ago. Last time, when An An partic.i.p.ated in the compet.i.tion, he had known about his existence, and he'd recognized Ren Zhouyuan's existence as well. No, maybe even earlier, when An An attended cla.s.ses for the first time, he had known about An An, and he had then started to investigate himself.

He was probably not paying enough attention, and he's always depending on luck. Without having realized, the enemy was already taking his action. He thought that when An An had been injured at the compet.i.tion, so at that time, maybe Leonid had already recognized the fact that An An is his son.

However, as for the fact that he gave birth to An An, he hadn't told anyone yet. Even Fan Wenfeng didn't know. When An An was born, he had looked for a friend, who's working as a doctor and who grew up with him in the welfare center. There were no files, and there's no way for Leonid to check for sources. At that time, he only knew that An An was his son, but he hadn't realized that An An was born by him.

Leonid looked at him and frowned. He also pouted. However, he didn't raise any opinion to his suggestion. His determination also got a little influenced. When he saw Ren Zhouyuan shaking his head, he was a little anxious and said, "I can provide the best life for you. An An is going to primary school soon, right? He's really good at technical things, don't you want him to develop in this area?"

"And you, you have been running around all these years. You have to take care of your life, and you have to take care of An An. Don't you feel tired? I know that you have friends who can help, but how long can a friend help? An An is still so small, and there are still hard days in the future. Ren Zhouyuan looked at him seriously, he was listening to what he was saying. And he's also imagining the good life that Leonid was picturing. He couldn't help but feeling moved by those words.

He recalled what Leonid had said when he was at the base that day. He just didn't expect them to become true.

However, his rationality told him that the man in front of him was just doing so out of responsibility. He already had someone else in mind, and for that person, he had canceled the marriage with his fiancée. For An An and himself, he had to make a decision that would betray the one he loved.

Ren Zhouyuan thought for a long time, and finally shook his head.

Seeing so, Leonid's facial expression changed dramatically. When he wanted to ask further, Ren Zhouyuan stopped him, "An An is my son. And I can take good care of him." He raised his eye and looked at Leonid, "…so you don't have to worry about us."

Leonid was so angry that his head was hurting and his att.i.tude became tougher, "An An is my son too. To be accurate, it's me who's the father."

Ren Zhouyuan looked at his angry looking eyes and said something brutally, "An An is my son. If you don't believe so, do some investigation!"

Leonid was incredibly furious. He didn't think of the meaning hidden behind this sentence, and he took it as Ren Zhouyang was just being angry. After thinking for a while, he still hadn't found out what could have gone wrong. Neither of them accepted to step down. At the end, Leonid seemed to have thought about something, he looked at Ren Zhouyuan, "is it that friend of yours?"

"What?" Ren Zhouyuan was shocked.

"Is it that friend of yours?" Leonid asked again, "do you like him?"

Ren Zhouyuan was stunned for a while. After thinking, he finally understood who Leonid was talking about. His mouth was slightly open, and didn't understand why Fan Wenfeng was mentioned in the conversation. He thought along with Leonid's train of thoughts, then calmed down quickly.

Ren Zhouyuan seemed to have made an important decision. He looked serious, "yes, right. I like him." He felt a bit bitter when he said so, but at this time, he didn't have time to dig into his own feelings, "so, there's no 'together' between the two of us."

Leonid stared at him for a long time, and finally sneered. He poured himself a gla.s.s of wine and finished it.

A nice meal ended up in disappointment. Ren Zhouyuan looked at Leonid, who was excited describing their future from the beginning, to leaving the restaurant with a poker face. He felt a bit sorry.  In the end, he didn't reject Leonid when he proposed to send him home. After all, he already knew about An An, and there's no need to hide it from him.

On their way home, both people had different thoughts in the mind. The atmosphere in the car wasn't that good. When they reached Ren Zhouyuan's, Ren Zhouyuan wanted to say something to ease the atmosphere, yet he heard Leonid speak first. What he was going to say made Ren Zhouyuan stop immediately, and he only wanted to reply with a "p.i.s.s off".

He said, "I won't give up on my suggestion tonight. But before you accept it, I hope that you can first think about your education to An An. Goodnight."
