Ned had all his weapons on him now, except the the staff. He had his two daggers on his back just above his belt, his sword on his waist ready to be drawn in a second. Plus all of his armor, as when he is usually walking in the city he would be wearing normal clothes he had bought from a store.

The old man seeing Ned change gave an approving nod, although he would be using a wooden sword it was because he was rank 8. But Ned would have to come up with everything he has if he wanted to impress him.

He looked at Ned and said " My boy, although I'll be using a wooden sword, it doesn't mean I'm looking down on you or anything. I can coat my wooden sword with my battle force to make it stand against your weapons, but if I use my sword then I'm afraid I will heavily injure you" he gave him an apologetic look, as he didn't want to hurt his pride, but he had no choice as he knew Ned wanted to fight against the demons. And the fight was tomorrow so he couldn't injure him badly.

Ned however didn't mind, he knew that a rank 8 with a sword or even with his hands alone will beat him easily. Therefore it was fine with him. And so he gave a nod and said "I'm not such a narrow minded person, I know that even without any type of sword you could still beat me easily"

And the old man gave a small smile. "Ay, you never cease to impress me my boy. When will you agree to be my disciple?" He said sighing while a sword appeared out of nowhere. And Ned noticed that the ring on the old man had glowed a bit.

He drew his two daggers as it was his strongest close combat art, but he still didn't charge at him and waited for the old man to make his move.

The old man once again gave an admiring nod. Before swinging his sword in an almost lazy manner, but Ned felt the killing intent directed on him. And so he rolled to the left side and started running at him. He didn't bother to look at the 2m gash on the ground that appeared where he was standing moments ago.

Once he had broke through rank three he knew why there was a difference between rogues and swordsmen. Depending on the attribute. If you were a rogue, meaning you would be focusing on speed, but had an attribute of earth, it just wouldn't do. As once you infuse earth mana into your body, you will get stronger but also slower.

Ned was currently, doing exactly that, he was infusing earth along with wind mana into his body, successfully getting his body much st.u.r.dier and stronger while still keeping his speed. He didn't have the limitations of the normal warriors.

But even so he felt that if he had took that slash then he would with no doubt, suffer greatly. It just goes to say how strong is a rank . If he did this with a wooden sword then there is no need to think of what he'll be able to do with a real sword.

Reaching near the old man in an instant Ned swung his daggers at him, and the old man easily guarded against them, after which Ned jumped to the back, evading the counterattack coming his way.

Ned nodded his head as thanks. He had a plan he wanted to use. Therefore he used his elemental body, and made both his arms under the gauntlets crystal based. And once again started running in Alaster's direction. Once he swung his daggers the old man negated his attack but Ned had already expected as such therefore he used his magic and made several crystal spears appear from the earth out of nowhere in a second.

The old man dodged them easily, but he had a surprised look on his face. Not because Ned caught him by surprise but rather that he used his magic without chanting.

Ned antic.i.p.ated the moment the old man was distracted by the spears and gathered mana in his daggers as he swung them from a distance from the old man. And just right in front of Alaster's chest there appeared a slash, and the other one near his left leg.

But he wasn't fl.u.s.tered, he just coted his body with a thin layer of battle force and let the attack hit him. He could have dodged it but he wanted to measure how strong it was.

And he was surprised as that slash if it caught a rank 5 by surprise would be able to claim his life. He was once again amazed. But he was also getting exited. He wanted Ned to show him more. To amaze him more.

(A/N: incase you have not noticed, when I speak about warriors I say battle force. But since Ned is both a mage and warrior I just say mana. Also warriors train by infusing normal mana into their bodies, but in a fight they can infuse mana with their attribute to strengthen themselves. For example a rogue would infuse Himself with wind mana making him faster.)
