Eunha and Lucas continued to contact people on Yoona's list. There was a lot of people to go through and they needed to reach out to as much as possible to extend their network. Every little chance that Lucas could get had potential to spark into something larger.
Of course, while calling, they would run into a few problems, specifically rude people who did not take their calls seriously. Most of the rude people were just snippy and easy to handle. Of course, at the end of the call the two weren't in the best mood, but it was expected in this cut throat world.
At the moment, the show they were currently trying to call was the biggest cooking show of all. If they could land a deal with this place, they would be immediately be on the road of success!
Therefore, the phone call was on speaker mode so that both could listen. However, since Lucas was busy with an email, it was Eunha who was speaking.
They were currently calling one of the directing team members. He was on the lower end of the hierarchy, but still, an important connection to the show.
"h.e.l.lo?" She greeted. "My name is Eunha. Is this Kim Seungho that I am speaking to?"
There was a pause before a loud grunt. "Yes? Why are you calling?"
"Ah yes, I would like to call you about the cooking survival: The Fridge is Yours. We have "
"Wait, how did you get my number?" He said, cutting her off.

Eunha widened her eyes and tried her best to hide her yelp. She cleared her throat and tried to continue the conversation as politely as possible. It was her fault for not saying after all. "Yes, I got it from an acquaintance I knew from the MH division of entertainment. Her name is -"
"f.u.c.king b.i.t.c.hes giving away my number," the man muttered, dismissing her answer all together. He didn't even bother to let her continue! "Anyways, yes I am a staff of the show but if we haven't called you in as a guest then that clearly means we are NOT interested. We only hire the top chefs, not some third-rate cart owner f.u.c.king h.e.l.l."
She could feel the rage pile up within but she tried her best to breathe. She could do this. Exploding on someone in the entertainment industry would not be a good look to Lucas and she was representing him.
"Alright. Thank you-"
"Not only that," he interrupted again. "But if you have to scavenge around for shows, clearly you aren't famous yet. Don't want anyone's time like this. n.o.body wants you. It's the real world. Deal with it."
Shocked by the clear malice, Eunha didn't know what to say. She could be professional, but at the same time, she was absolutely furious. How dare he say this to her! All she had done was ask nicely. Also, this was common in the business realm.
Suddenly, she found the phone taken from her hand. She turned to find Lucas speaking into it instead.
The blonde haired boy had an angry expression on his face. "Hey listen you f.u.c.king a.s.shole. You don't speak to people like that. Ever. If you have your own personal problems, explode on someone who deserves it, not someone who is trying to be polite."
Afterward, Lucas immediately hung up, not caring about the consequences of his words. Normally, being professional was expected however, the man stepped over the line. And Lucas was not going to let any person under his wing be treated like this.
Besides, for some reason, when he spoke those harsh words to Eunha, he felt a burning sensation in his chest.
He was angry that Eunha was being hurt. This was a first.
On the other hand, in Eunha's mind, a whole series of thoughts were whizzing around. First, that guy was an absolute a.s.shole and he deserved everything Lucas said to him. Secondly, did Lucas just stand up for her? After all the mean things he said everyday, he actually talked back to someone who said worse words? And finally, oh G.o.d. They were just rude to an directing staff member for a very famous show, this might bite them back in the a.s.s.
She didn't know what to say so in her murky mind, she decided to lighten the mood. Or attempt to anyways. "At least I said my name not yours? Your name isn't tarnished thankfully."
Of course, it didn't work. The other person was Lucas after all.
"I don't care about that," he said flatly. "I can call him back right now and tell him to f.u.c.k off for all I care."
"Lucas!" She exclaimed, grabbing onto his arm. A feeling of warmth filled her chest but he really shouldn't say that. This was the real world. "You're career is on the line now if you f.u.c.k up okay? Don't say that!"
He pushed her arm away and angrily growled. "Then what the f.u.c.k am I supposed to do? Let him speak to you like that?"
Their eyes met, Lucas's full of fiery while Eunha's was frantic. She bore her gaze into his and suddenly, her heart skipped a beat. As his words registered in her mind, she couldn't help but think...
Why did Lucas look so attractive for a split second?
Was she going crazy? She placed her hand on her heart. Yeah she was going crazy. Why the h.e.l.l would she feel this way for such an a.s.shole.
For a pretty handsome a.s.shole.
Snap out of it! She shook her head before crossing her arms. "Yes! You are. I mean, thank you for standing up for me but this is a part of my job alright! Don't interfere."
For a split moment, Eunha regretted her words. She should be thankful to him. But due to the mixed emotions in her chest, everything was spilling out of her mouth.
Something in Lucas flipped. Anger and disappointment washed over him.
"Fine," he said before standing up. "Don't expect me to do this ever again then."
He gathered his belongings and left to his desk.
Eunha, completely taken aback by the situation, sat in her seat. It took her a moment to process everything that had happened. Oh no. What has she done?
She had the urge to grab his arm to stop him from walking away but she couldn't move her body. In the end, all she did was make him angry.
How was she supposed to fix this!
