Just a few minutes before, there was security footage showing Yoona being followed by a man in black attire with his face covered. Moments later she dropped to the floor and a crowd surrounded her. The man spoke up, saying that he was related to her and said that she forgot to take her medicine. He proceeded to convince the staff by giving them Yoona's details as her purse was on her.
That was the testimony of the airport staff. How stupid could they have been? They should've called emergency just in case! Minhyun was blazing and got all those workers fired immediately. How incompetent were they to allow someone to get kidnapped in front of their own eyes?
Minhyun clenched his fists, the anger within him boiling. Whoever was behind all this was going to die. He was going to kill them with his own hands.
He knew that by publicly showing his affection to Yoona at the gala would let the enemies know about her, but he never expected for them to hit when they were at the airport.
f.u.c.k. He should've sent a guard after her when she went to the washroom. He was careless, and this was his punishment.
Ji-ho was distressed as well. His happy smile was replaced with a frown as he used the security guard's computer to search for any clues. His fingers moved like lightning. He had to do everything in his power to make sure she was safe.
If only he could find a clue. Anything. Desperation filled his body. Why did their lovely trip have to end with such a terrible event? He missed her already.
Suddenly, a call came from Minhyun's phone. It was Secretary Kim. He debated on answering as there was a more serious problem on hand, however, he decided to answer in case it had any relations to what was happening now. After all, there was a chance of the kidnappers contacting the company for a ransom. In this world, there was nothing that was impossible.
He answered the call. "h.e.l.lo?"
"h.e.l.lo sir," Secretary Kim said. "I have someone who wants to speak to you. It's an urgent matter according to her words."
Minhyun grit his teeth. Someone was trying to reach him? He had a feeling that this was definitely related to Yoona's disappearance. "Who is it?"
"It is Moon Jaeun from the Moon group and she's here to take about an urgent matter. She says that her brother had planned to do something terrible."
He froze. Jaeun? That was an unexpected answer. He could not believe his ears. Why would she want to speak to him? Even if her brother was involved in the kidnapping, there was no reason for her to help. Something was fishy about the situation. Could she have come to confuse them or was she doing it out of guilt? Although it was untraceable, the Moon Siblings could've caught on that Minhyun was the one who orchestrated their downfall. After all, he had the greatest motive out of all their enemies, plus the gala had happened. So she could be doing this for revenge.
He noted to take caution.
"Let her speak."
There was a pause. "She'd like to speak to you in person."
Minhyun thought for a moment. Then he made his final decision. "I'm at the Seoul Airport. Bring her here."
"Yes sir," Secretary Kim chirped. He could tell from his boss's tone that there was something serious going on.
After thirty minutes, the two arrived to the security room where Minhyun and Ji-ho were residing. Minhyun was sitting on a chair with a scary look on his face. All the employees around of him were scared, for although he was not talking, his eyes gave a deathly glare.
Secretary Kim gulped when he saw his boss's expression. He could tell when Minhyun was angry. This was probably one of the worst moods he'd ever seen.
"Sir. I have brought her."
"I see that." His tone was icy. He turned towards Jaeun, his fingers tapping against the table. "Speak. Now. Before I kill you."
Jaeun's eyes flickered to the ground. The CEO scared her. Although she doubted she'd actually die, especially with all these witnesses, the seriousness was enough to make her shrivel in a hole. "I-I came to tell y-you that my brother planned to take Yoona."
He cracked his fingers. "So it was Jaemin. That f.u.c.ker."
He focused his attention back on her. "And how did you know?"
She bit her lips. "We're under surveillance most of the time and we moved to a small area due to our family's bankruptcy. I -I could hear him talking through the walls. He planned to take her. Today." Then she corrected herself. "H-he already did."
"And why are you telling me this now? When we could've prevented it beforehand."
Jaeun's body was shaking. The pressure was immense. Knowing how really powerful Minhyun was, she couldn't be the same confident girl before. In fact, after her family's scandal, everything went down to the ground. She had nothing to live for. There was nothing to guarantee her safety.
"I-I'm sorry." Tears welled up in her eyes. "I know I did s.h.i.t to her. I know I hurt other people. B-but I... I'm trying to atone... I really am..."
Minhyun a.n.a.lyzed her expressions. From her past, he couldn't believe that she truly changed. After all, she'd ruined the lives of countless women for her own selfish needs. A kidnapping against a women she hated couldn't have affected her this much. Did she truly seek forgiveness after suffering from karma or was there revenge under this?
He hated to admit, but she looked sincere.
But he couldn't trust her. Never.
He leaned forward, his elbows balancing on his knees as he placed his hands together. He took a deep breath, trying to contain his emotions. "You know I can't trust you right?"
Jaeun gulped. Her voice came out tiny. "I know."
"That's why if any of this is a lie. And Yoona gets hurt. I will personally make it my goal to make your life a greater h.e.l.l. Mark my words."
The past princely image of Minhyun disappeared replaced with fear. "Okay."
"Good. Now tell me the details."
She gulped. "I believe they're still in the airport. Apparently there is a small private plane ready to take off. I-I'm not sure the exact area, but it's sound proof and its empty of people. That's all I know."
Minhyun snapped his fingers, ushering his security guards and the airport workers to follow his orders. Although he wanted to go along as well, there was one more question he wanted to ask Jaeun. Besides, he didn't trust her completely. She could be bluffing to bring people to the wrong place.
"There's something I'm curious about," he began. The sound of his fingers tapping continued to linger in the air. "For me to trust you, you have to give me something to hold against you. Do you agree?" She nodded slightly, her breath hitched at the back of her throat. "Y-yes." "Then tell me, did you kill Moon Jihee?"
She froze. Then her body started shaking, more vigorously. It was hard to breath. She grabbed her heart, trying to calm herself down. It was the constant reaction she got from Jihee's name, especially under a stressful situation.
Minhyun sat there. His eyes narrowing as he ushered one of the airport workers to help her out.
"Answer the question."
Ji-ho looked from Jaeun to Minhyun. He was curious too but seeing Jaeun's state, they might not get any answers at this rate. "I - uh - think that you might need to give her s.p.a.ce."
He ignored the boy. "Answers. Now."
Jaeun tried to calm herself down. She knew that without this chance, she could further ruin herself. It was hard to control her body, nearly impossible, especially since her mind was going blank. But she tried her hardest. Tried to follow the methods said my her psychologist. A deep breath escaped her lips.
But she couldn't say it. Even after calming herself down to an extent, she couldn't say the answer.
She closed her eyes, bracing for the shock.
"I-I killed her. I killed Moon Jihee."
