"If she did whey would she leave her stuff, her wallet, keys, clutch, and jacket are all with us the only thing that isn't here is her phone."
"Oh I know where she is!" Carol said relieved.
"What, where?" I inquired
"She probably just went outside to get a better signal for a call, there isn't good cell reception in here."
"Oh my G.o.d your right I didn't even think of that, let's go outside and look for her."
We headed outside but still no sign of her, since we were outside now we could call her. So we did, when we heard her phone ringing close by.
"There it is, it's in the street!!" Yelled Carol
We glanced both ways then quickly ran out, grabbed and returned to the curb. Her phones screen was shattered, even her case was broken it was a miracle that it even worked.
"This looks like it was dropped then stepped on." I stated
"More like stomped on" replied Carol
"I'm really starting to get worried, first those weird guys in the club and now Sh.e.l.ly's gone." I said worriedly
" listen Sh.e.l.ly was drunk, knowing her she probably went home with some guy and just forgot her stuff and dropped her phone. And her phone was probably just run over by the car she got into. Honestly this wouldn't be the first time she left a club and forgot all her stuff and headed off with a guy." Carol said
"Are you sure? I've never gone to a club with her so I don't know, but I'm still worried." I stated
"Don't worry, let's just head home for now. We are both drunk and need to catch a cab before it's too late. We'll take her stuff with us and return tomorrow when she comes to work. If she's not at work tomorrow and didn't call in then we worry."
"All right, if you say so."
We went on ahead to the Main Street and caught a cab. That night was the first two mistakes that I ever made, first leaving Sh.e.l.ly and second finding her phone. I didn't know it at the time but these mistakes would haunt me for years to come.
