Chapter 1

A candle flickers in the quiet room even though there is no wind. But the weak candlelight casts the room even more into darkness as it is about to give out.

Layers of silk veil hide the bodies inside the canopy. The veils move along with the subtle sounds of the bodies and their warm exhales. Yi Yun Zhai's mind has flown out the window; his senses are in disarray.

His handsome and carefree face is tinged red from the effects of the drug. His breathing becomes steadily heavier and even his pupils dilate as the drug bursts through his entire body.

He needs someone to help relieve him of the drug's effects, no matter who it is.

Xiao Lan Xun lifts the curtain and enters the bed. Her face has lost all color and is pale like paper.

Like a young girl, like a beautiful flower that has just blossomed in the morning, her body vaguely carries a delicate fragrance with which no common scent can compare.

But she is nervous; even her hand which closes the curtains tremble as if the struggle in her heart will rip her apart into pieces.

Recognizing the lady's scent, Yi Yun Zhai immediately crushes her beneath his body and tears open her clothes.

"Yun Zhai," she cries shakily in fear and terror. But despite the fear in her heart, she doesn't run away.

It seems like for a second Yi Yun Zhai's senses return. He gazes blankly at her beautiful face, then explodes in anger: "Who let you in here? Get out…Get out…"

At the second "get out," his voice has become hoa.r.s.e like the roar of a wild beast.

The violent drug is like a thousand knives and ten thousand swords on his body, each slice an unbearable pain. He almost wants to bite off his own flesh to stop the pain.

Xiao Lan Xun takes off her clothes and reveals her smooth snow white skin. Yi Yun Zhai groans like a wounded animal.

"Do you know what you are doing? Go back! Go back!"

"No…don't make me leave."

As Xiao Lan Xun takes off the last of her clothes, her delicate voice shakes unsteadily.

The candle is too dim and it is almost impossible to make out her pale skin but just her fragrance is enough to make Yi Yun Zhai moan. If she wasn't the woman he loved, he would have thrown himself at her without restraint.

"Yun Zhai, I…I really love you."

As if she has just expressed her heart's deepest secret, she leans forward, letting Yi Yun Zhai embrace her naked body. These days that she has known him, she always feared telling him about her love for him but today, she finally has the chance.

"I'm about to go crazy, about to…"

Xiao Lan Xun wraps her arms around his neck shyly and mumbles almost indistinctly: "Hold me, I don't want…I don't want you to have other women, Im scared you'll…"

There is a deep worry and fear in her eyes that she cannot express. If she tells him, she knows her heart will break. She is scared that day will come but she knows it is only a matter of time.

"Im scared you won't want me anymore."

"Nonsense! I will marry you. Once I return home, I'll immediately propose…"

His voice rises and falls. His strong arms wrap tightly around her. Even though he knows he should push her away, his body's desire is more violent than anything.

Besides he already loves Xiao Lan Xun. Only, she is so fragile. He has been waiting for their marriage night, not like this type of violation in this poor run down shed.

He wants everything with her to be perfect, not like this.

"Hold me, hold me tight, don't say anything."

He smells the familiar scent of her body. His desire like a wild stallion and his rationale like mud, he cannot control himself anymore and crushes Xiao Lan Xun on the bed. Other than the desire in his body, he cannot remember anything else.

But even if he doesn't remember anything else, he still remembers that the women beneath him is Xiao Lan Xun.

"Lan Xun, I'l marry you, once I… ahh…" Helplessly, he kisses her like he wants to crush her into himself to better cherish her.

In the dark night, two bodies meet. Tears run down Xiao Lan Xun's face from the pain of the first time.

She bites down hard on her lip but doesn't cry out in pain. As she holds on tightly to the man of her heart, she knows that she will never get a second chance to do this.

Each time he promises to marry her, transparent tears drip down her face; each time he tells her "I love you," she kisses him like she wants him to stop saying it so she doesn't have to hear it.

"Lan Xun, I'll marry you, definitely…definitely…"

"I'll wait for you to come, Ill wait for you."

Xiao Lan Xun's tears fall steadily. Even though she knows they are a lie, she gently agrees despite her breaking heart.

And her lover will never know why.

She will keep this secret forever. If only this secret could stay buried deep at the bottom of her heart forever.
