Fugaku's lungs burned. He along with his team and their sensei had been running at full sprint for far too long. As the ring of metal rang through the air, Fugaku turned and threw several shurikens that connected with the ones that were thrown. Once he completed the spin, he continued running and the Sharingan was once again put into its dormant form.

He could feel that his Chakra supply was very low, but he was responsible for watching everyone's back. The shin.o.bi from Suna were still chasing after and Fugaku tossed several kunai with explosive tags attached to them at the trees that were present. The shin.o.bi were once again delayed for some time and the team continued on their run towards safety.

Fugaku glanced back with watchful eyes before disappearing up into the trees with his team. This was already the third time they had gotten up into the trees, but each time they tried to get away by jumping on the trees, a scorching ball of flames would mummify the trees turning it into a dead husk that easily broke.

this time though, he spotted the shin.o.bi, no kunoichi that was responsible for the fire. She had black hair and tips that were orange on her bangs. Fugaku took note of her appearance before he loaded a specially made explosive tag onto a kunai. He threw the kunai and flipped though several hand seals. The kunai split into multiple before crashing down onto the forest floor and exploding with a very loud bang.

The explosion destroyed several trees in the radius and create a bunch of smoke. Fugaku silently thanked Jiro for the explosive tags before running to catch up with Duy and Teuchi who were ahead of them. He exchange smiles with the two as they vaulted on the branches. Fugaku stumbled slightly as they continued on their run. He was almost out of Chakra and energy.

Duy bent down and tossed Fugaku onto his shoulder as they continued running. With their back covered, the trio continued in hopes that their chasers would back off. There were no such hopes. A sharp wind cut through the branches of the tree they were running on as well as through Teuchi's leg.

Teuchi stumbled before grabbing ahold of his leg which had been cut off by the sharp blade of wind. He fumbled with a scroll before tossing the appendage inside. Their sensei who appeared quickly grabbed Teuchi and turned him around before cauterizing his leg wound. Teuchi fainted from the pain at this point and his face was pasty.

The old man turned to hand Teuchi over to Duy who now had to carry two people on his shoulders. He then patted the head of each of his students before heading straight towards the shin.o.bi who were clearly much more prepared and ready for a fight. As Fugaku saw him head off, tears of blood left streaks on his face as two Mangekyo Sharingan formed in his eyes.

Fugaku came to while still on Duy's shoulders. Duy was unconscious, but still running with Teuchi and Fugaku. The trio were still in fighting grounds, but they had escaped the pursuit of the Suna shin.o.bi thanks to the sacrifice of their sensei. He wriggled out of Duy's grip and hit on the head immediately bringing him into the realm of the unconscious.

Fugaku felt that his Chakra supply had increased back up during the time he was unconscious and scanned Teuchi with his new eyes. Teuchi was fine and could be awakened, but Duy had extreme muscle damage and was very low in Chakra. His state needed attention from a medic nin as soon as possible.

Teuchi came to as water was dripping onto his face. He greedily lapped it up and grabbed the bottle from Fugaku before sipping slowly. As he slowly began to recall the memories of the past few moments, he asked, "Where's sensei."

Fugaku shook his head in response to the question.

"He sacrificed himself to bring us closer to the base."

Teuchi could see the grief in Fugaku's eyes and patted him on the shoulder before leaning in and hugging him. He could see that Fugaku was having trouble dealing with the death of their sensei, but they had to get home. He got up and was about to put Duy onto his back before finally noticing that his leg was gone.

Smiling awkwardly, Teuchi handed Duy over to Fugaku.

"Let's go home."

Teuchi carved himself a stick for walking and used it to support his body as Fugaku walked with Duy on his shoulder. Opening a map, he could see that they were still a good distance away from their home base. While being chased, they had deviated slightly resulting in more distance from the headquarters of the Konoha shin.o.bi.

About several miles from the Konoha head quarters, Teuchi couldn't keep on smiling. Their pace had been atrocious thanks to him and Duy needed to get help. Furthermore, they were being stalked. He knew what had to be done, but the very idea of it was terribly scary. Despite his fear, Teuchi began speaking while facing Fugaku with his back to the shin.o.bi that were nearby.

"Fugaku. Leave without me and get help for Duy. I'm going to hide near here and hopefully you can bring some back up as well."

While he was speaking, Teuchi was signing with his hands in code. 'It was nice knowing you Fugaku. Tell my parents that they better keep on living well. I'm sorry it had to end this way.'

"Ok."

Fugaku used all the willpower he had to not reveal any emotion that might give himself away as he took off with Duy on his shoulder. Perhaps the other shin.o.bi had gotten impatient, but Fugaku swore he could hear the sounds of battle going on behind him only minutes after he ran as more b.l.o.o.d.y tears fell.
