Translator: Soldier
There was a red light.
Li Zong steadily pressed down on the brake pedal, twisted his head around and looked at He Zheng. "You really want to know?"
He Zheng rolled his eyes. "Keep the answer if you like it so much."
Li Zong chuckled. As if he seldom chuckled and was not familiar with this movement, the curve of the corners of his mouth was not very observable, but his voice was deep and magnetic. "The first time was when you kissed me."
"Um?" He Zheng fell confused. It was not until after a while that he realized what Li Zong was referring to.
"The second time was when you stood naked before me early in the morning."
"The third time was when you called me husband."
The corners of He Zheng's mouth involuntarily twitched. He was just about to contradict him when Li Zong calmly asked, "Do you still remember the occasion when you implored me on the flight?"
Of course He Zheng remembered. On that day, he besought Li Zong to do him a favor, which was the first time that he had used the word "beseech" before somebody else over the past twenty plus years. He had thought that Li Zong would want something from him in return, but Li Zong had agreed to help him without saying anything else.
He didn't have that much time to find out about other people's thoughts.
But at this time, Li Zong said, "To me, a marriage like this won't have any significant influence on my life. Besides, you're a pretty interesting person. But I've changed my mind."
He Zheng knitted his eyebrows tightly together. In a manifestly displeased tone of voice, he asked, "What do you mean?"
A click was heard. It was the sound of the seat belt being unbuckled. He Zheng knew Li Zong was a very powerful cultivator, but he had never actually felt it. Before he could react, his chin was clamped, and his tongue was pinned in his mouth. He couldn't move an inch.
His mouth was full of the smell of another man. The sound of the kiss was amplified by numerous times in the enclosed vehicle. Li Zong's long fingers were pressed against the back of his neck, icy cold. As a result, even in this circ.u.mstance, He Zheng could still hear the slightly hoa.r.s.e voice of Li Zong.
"This is what I meant."
He let go of He Zheng whose breathing was somewhat irregular, whose lips had grown crimson due to the rub and the suck. He Zheng heavily wiped his lower lip with his finger pulp and the crimson spread to his cheeks. For an instant, there was perplexity gleaming in his eyes.
Li Zong briefly closed his eyes to conceal the possessiveness in his eyes.
He Zheng was a clean man, and he hated kissing anybody the most. In fact, the occasion when he kissed Li Zong in front of Zhen Ni was the first time that he had made physical contact of such intimacy with another person, and this was the second time.
What He Zheng hated was that neither kiss felt bad.
"This is what you want in return?" He Zheng loosened his collarband. With all b.u.t.tons up, he felt somewhat hot. With a cold face, he observed, "Never will I let anybody f.u.c.k me."
As anger rose in him, He Zheng's wording fell rude.
Li Zong felt that this guy was merely an angry paper tiger, that if he stretched out a finger and poked a tiny little hole in the tiger, it would instantly deflate and became obedient.
So he said, "It's not a price. The choice is still yours. But you won't be able to stop me from doing whatever I feel like doing."
Many years later, He Zheng suddenly understood why Li Zong could make this remark in such a conceited manner. It turned out that people like him cared about so few things, which was why they chose to follow what their hearts were telling them, to act as they truly were, and to do whatever they felt like doing. And maybe the reason why he took Li Zong's fancy was the mere unruliness showed in his eyes at the instant when he lifted his eyebrows.
He Zheng leaned against the back of the seat. The traffic light turned green and the automobile started again.
He fixed the front with an empty, horizontal stare, his mind in a whirl of miscellaneous thoughts.
In his life, Li Zong was the first person that he had encountered and found unpredictable. Li Zong had more than willingly agreed to help him but expected to be paid this way...
Somewhere along the line, a small blue velvet box had been placed in front of He Zheng. After a brief trance of surprise, He Zheng reached out his hand, picked up the box and played with it in boredom. As a man having little experience of being loved, He Zheng felt that Li Zong was very good to him.
This silent greeting was like the first knock on the door of He Zheng's heart, leaving He Zheng powerless to resist.
If all this was based on affections, He Zheng would indeed find it unfamiliar. However, deep down there, as if involuntarily, he also faintly felt a yearning for it.
n.o.body would try to escape from the courting of someone whom they found attractive.
He opened the box. Inside it was a pair of Cartier platinum man's rings. The design of them was not too dramatic. It was totally okay to wear them every day.
Was Li Zong proposing to him?
A surprised look flashed across the bottom of He Zheng's eyes. 'Is this man serious?'
And with that light seemed to dawn on him. He believed that there was nothing about him that could have caught Li Zong's fancy. Though unwilling to admit this, he had nothing, except for money, that anybody would deem worth any trouble. Besides, Li Zong had no lack of money, and it was totally unnecessary for him to do so.
Given that the two of them were already in a relationship of this kind, it was very unlikely that there would be any worse outcome, no matter they took one step forward or backward.
Having come to realize this, He Zheng felt a sudden sense of relief and with that he gave a languid smile. He himself was also a man who always did things at whim, and as one of the few that hit his fancy, Li Zong was actually a pretty good choice as husband.
He casually fished out one of the rings and played with it. In a seemingly unconcerned tone, he asked, "How can you be so sure that this ring fits me?"
"You may try it on." In Li Zong's voice was utter composure.
He Zheng curled his lip and casually put on the ring. Remarkably, it really fitted his ring finger perfectly well, as if it could never be removed. For some unknown reason, He Zheng suddenly felt that something he had never felt before had been struck into his heart. Previously, his impression of Li Zong had been that he was the most hateful person in the world, but unexpectedly, this the most hateful person cared about him so much.
The off-road vehicle had arrived at the residence of He family. He Zheng never took off the ring after putting it on.
'There is no harm in having a try,' he thought.
