Chapter Ch102.2 - Extra 7: Little Overlord Shao SiJia (3)
Liang YanQing was nervous for a moment, but then raised his voice to say: “I broke up with you yesterday.”
After saying this, he glanced at Shao SiJia. He said this not only towards Tong SuHong but also to Shao SiJia.
However, Shao SiJia didn’t look indignant or sad like he expected. She simply looked at the both of them indifferently.
Tong SuHong ran towards them and pulled at Liang YanQing’s arm. “I never agreed to that! It doesn’t count!”
Liang YanQing shook her off. “Don’t be like this. Isn’t it better to end things amicably?”
“No! I’ll never break up with you.” Tong SuHong yelled with red, tearful eyes. “We’ve been together for so long. How can things just end like this?”
Liang YanQing’s eyes grew cold. “I have always liked Shao SiJia, and these feelings will never change.”
Shao SiJia silently took a step back. She wanted to say: Can you not drag me into this?
But the answer was clearly no.
Tong SuHong pointed a trembling finger towards Shao SiJia and screeched: “Where is she better than me? Am I not as beautiful as her? Aren’t I obviously much better?”
This time, Shao SiJia couldn’t help but say: “No.”
Liang YanQing wanted to prevent Tong SuHong from going crazy, but he also wanted to rea.s.sure Shao SiJia. Stuck between to women, he could only say: “Feelings can’t be forced.”
Tong SuHong yelled: “Can’t be forced? Then why are you telling me to break up suddenly? Was all those years nothing to you?”
Liang YanQing was embarra.s.sed by Tong SuHong’s biting questions. He turned to Shao SiJia and said: “SiJia, listen to my explanation first. Things aren’t really…”
“It’s the truth.” Tong SuHong yelled, her voice becoming sharper. “You say you like Shao SiJia? What does she have? She’s nothing but a pretty face. She’s nothing, absolutely nothing, and you’re falling for her tricks!”
Liang YanQing became angry at her words and pulled at Tong SuHong’s hand. “Don’t talk about her like that.”
But Tong SuHong ignored him, her eyes full of scorn. “Am I wrong? Liang YanQing, do you think Shao SiJia can give you resources like I do? She’s nothing but a pheasant acting like a phoenix!”
As soon as she said this, Tong SuHong suddenly found herself unable to open her mouth.
It was because Shao SiJia reached out and pinched her lips closed with her fingers.
In a flash, Tong SuHong recalled the fear she felt when she had been forced to drink coffee. Tong SuHong became so frightened that she tried to pull Shao SiJia’s fingers away, but she was unable to do so.
Shao SiJia looked at her coldly. “I don’t want an apology from you, but I don’t expect this to happen again.”
Shao SiJia pulled Tong SuHong’s lips towards her and gave the woman a long and sharp glare. After seeing the terror in Tong SuHong’s eyes, Shao SiJia smiled in satisfaction and said: “Take better care of your chicken beak.”
She then let go and allowed Tong SuHong to hastily retreat.
Tong SuHong quickly covered her lips and looked at her in horror. She didn’t dare say another word.
Meanwhile, Liang YanQing, who had wanted to help, slowly lowered his outstretched hand.
Shao SiJia yawned, feeling like she had just watched a very dull soap opera. The plot made her sleepy, but the two other actors were idiots who kept trying to drag her back in the drama.
She was tired of this s.h.i.t.
“You two can keep going, just don’t drag my name into this.” Shao SiJia clenched her fist and threatened the two, then turned to exit the stage gracefully.
“SiJia, don’t go! Listen to my explanation.” Liang YanQing ran after her and placed a hand on her shoulder.
Shao SiJia rolled her eye and turned around to punch Liang YanQing violently. Liang YanQing instantly dropped to the ground.
“YanQing!” Tong SuHong rushed towards the fallen man.
Liang YanQing felt an unbearable pain on his nose. His head was a mess, and for a while, he couldn’t think straight.
How could this happen? How could Shao SiJia be so cruel to him?
While he was at a loss, Tong SuHong began cursing at Shao SiJia.
Hearing this, Liang YanQing subconsciously said: “Don’t scold her.”
This was the last straw for Tong SuHong. She began hitting Ling YanQing, yelling: “Liang YanQing, she treats you like this, and you still want to involve yourself with her?!”
Liang YanQing initially wanted to say yes, but now, he wasn’t so sure.
He had been so confident that he could get Shao SiJia to come back to him. After all, she had shed tears for him and had only broken up with him because she wanted him to have a better future. Liang YanQing thought that Shao SiJia wouldn’t have forgotten him, despite their long separation.
But now, he wasn’t so sure.
Shao SiJia’s fist didn’t have an ounce of emotion.
Seeing his hesitation, Tong SuHong finally revealed her ace. “Liang YanQing, think. Can Shao SiJia help you catch Zheng BuLu’s interest like I can?”
At the mention of Zheng BuLu, Liang YanQing’s eyes suddenly cleared. However, he was still somewhat unwilling to give up.
Tong SuHong glanced at him, then put on a high-and-mighty att.i.tude. “You really live in plenty without appreciating things, ah. My father and Zheng BuLu have known each other for more than ten years. If my father hadn’t heard that Zheng BuLu’s son was gay, maybe he would’ve already introduced me to Zheng BuLu’s son. Do you really believe you can just treat me like this?”
Liang YanQing sighed, his expression pained.
Ever since Zheng BuLu’s son had taken over the Zheng family business two years ago, it had developed at a rapid pace. Nowadays, it wasn’t easy for others to get the opportunity to collaborate or even meet the Zheng family.
But Tong SuHong’s father, Tong De, had done business with Zheng BuLu back in the early days. If he pulled some strings and helped Liang YanQing, many things would be much easier to achieve.
It would definitely advance the development of his career by years.
Liang YanQing’s heart wavered once more.
Tong SuHong finally dealt the finishing blow. “Think clearly. Shao SiJia is someone who only depends on her looks. Are you sure you want to be with someone like that?”
……
As soon as Shao SiJia stepped back into the office, thunderous applause broke out. Her colleagues cried out: “SiJia, you’re the man!”
“Long live the great Shao SiJia!”
“SiJia, you’ve helped me reach the pinnacle of my career!”
“You’re welcome.” Shao SiJia smiled. She glanced towards Bai XiaoFei and noticed her lowered head. It seems that Bai XiaoFei no longer dared to even look at her. Shao SiJia had wanted to settle things with her, but since Bai XiaoFei was now being sensible, Shao SiJia decided no to waste energy. She simply returned to her desk and finished her resignation letter.
“Shao SiJia, let’s have lunch together. We’ll celebrate and treat you.” One of her colleagues said.
“Let’s do it later tonight. I have an appointment at noon.” Shao SiJia pressed the enter key, then stood up. “Today will be my last day working with you all. Thank you for your care during this time; I’ll happily accept your offer to treat me to dinner tonight.”
Everyone in the office was shocked at the sudden revelation. Thinking they heard her wrong, they asked: “What did you say?”
“What do you mean? I don’t understand?”
Shao SiJia told them: “I quit.”
She then turned to Deng Han and solemnly said: “Manager, thank you for your care and guidance during my time here. I’ve sent you my resignation letter.”
Deng Han had already been warned, but he didn’t expect Shao SiJia to resign so resolutely. Shao SiJia had experienced so much during her time here, and had garnered great success- yet she didn’t look the least bit hesitant or nostalgic.
Deng Han felt so many conflicting emotions in his heart and didn’t know what to say or do for a moment.
Meanwhile, Bai XiaoFei’s confidant seized this opportunity and said: “Shao SiJia, if you wanted a promotion and raise, just tell us directly, ah. Why are you doing it in such a roundabout way?”
As soon as these words were said, people couldn’t help but think about the situation in this way.
Typically, one wouldn’t even think about resigning after getting such a big contract. Compared to that, it was very possible that someone would take a step back and threaten the company in exchange for promotion and a salary increase.
Now that this thought had been said out loud, Shao SiJia’s motives had became questioned.
Shao SiJia looked at the man who spoke. She said: “I told you before I left that I’d be back. It seems that you haven’t forgotten?”
The man: “…” FML, he really did forget.
Shao SiJia suddenly reached for the dagger and tore it free from the plant.
This time, she directly stabbed it through her very had and sold wooden desk.
The bright blade could be seen on the top and bottom of the table, standing proud.
The entire office did a sharp intake of air.
Then, Shao SiJia walked towards the man, kicking a chair that had been in the way. She held the man’s chin with one hand and lifted his face. As she stared into his eyes, Shao SiJia gave him a faint smile and said: “Say it again.”
Initially, the man hadn’t been afraid of Shao SiJia. After all, no matter how tough she acted, at the end of the day, Shao SiJia was still a young woman. It was only after Shao SiJia had grasped his chin that he realized: This was someone that shouldn’t be provoked.
“Sh-Shao SiJia, what are you planning on doing?” The man’s voice shook as he asked.
“Shao SiJia?” Shao SiJia banged her fist on his head. “You better call me father instead.
The man. “….”
Everyone in the office: “…”
“Your father worked so hard to get all those business contracts signed, ah. You should act like a dutiful son.” Shao SiJia said as she hit him once more. “Do you know what you did wrong?”
The man shook like a leaf and didn’t dare resist anymore. “Know, I know.”
Shao SiJia let go of him and looked towards the rest of Bai XiaoFei’s group. “Does anyone have anything else to say?”
The entire group was silent.
Shao SiJia clapped her hands and turned to Deng Han. “Manager, it’s settled.”
Deng Han didn’t dare say anything more and quickly said: “Alright, I’ll approve it later. If you’re in a hurry, today can be your final day. If you’re not in a hurry, you can stay and work for a few more days.”
Shao SiJia stretched. “I’d like today to be my final day.”
Deng Han: “That’s fine.”
And just like that, Shao SiJia had successfully quit. Bai XiaoFei’s group shrunk their necks and began to whisper amongst themselves.
“Deng Han actually approved it, hahaha!”
“I bet Shao SiJia didn’t expect Deng Han to approve her resignation!”
“It’s ridiculous, trying to threaten Deng Han with her resignation. But I didn’t expect Deng Han to do it without negotiating.”
“Instead of a promotion, it’s direct firing. I really want to laugh to death, ah.”
“That fool was too conceited.”
“Her bonus will probably be divided amongst the office. We should ask Deng Han later.”
Bai XiaoFei and her group didn’t dare say anything to Shao SiJia, but they were all happy with how things played out. Even the man who had just been humiliated by Shao SiJia was in a good mood.
As long as Shao SiJia left, no one would dare mention that he had been beaten up by a young woman.
They gleefully cursed Shao SiJia in their minds and began to plan how they would divide Shao SiJia’s clients amongst themselves. Before they knew it, it was already time for lunch.
Suddenly, the company’s young but powerful boss, Lin Qian, entered the office. He greeted everyone, then called out: “Shao SiJia, are you finished? It’s time to go.”
Shao SiJia grabbed her bag, picked up a stuffed toy that had been a present from one of her clients, and took the little potted cactus from her desk. She hesitated for a moment. She couldn’t hold all of her things on her own. In the end, she turned to her brother and said: “My dagger, carry it for me.”
Lin Qian looked down at the military knife that had been plunged halfway down the desk and felt his eyelid twitch. “Do you want to harm my company and get it investigated?”
Shao SiJia “Stop talking c.r.a.p and just grab it already, ah.”
With a shaking head, Lin Qian walked to Shao SiJia’s desk and very easily pulled out the dagger. Then, after saying their goodbyes to everyone else, they left the office together.
Everyone left in the office was speechless.
A colleague suddenly spoke up: “S-SiJia and the boss…what’s their relationship with each other?”
Deng Han replied with a deadpan voice: “Biological siblings. A brother and sister pair.”
With a loud crash, Bai XiaoFei’s group collapsed on the ground one after the other.
With deathly pale faces, they all began to say their farewells to their careers.
……
Although Lin Qian expected Shao SiJia to make things exciting in her office, he never expected his sister to come to work with a knife and directly stab it onto her desk.
“You went too far.” Lin Qian told her as they walked. “If you don’t go back and mend the table, we’re over, ah.”
Shao SiJia wrinkled her nose. “It’s your company’s fault for hiring a bunch of unsavory people.”
Lin Qian asked: “Bai XiaoFei’s group?”
Shao SiJia turned towards him. “You know?”
Lin Qian nodded. “I’ve been too busy this past couple of days, but I was planning on talking with Deng Han on how we should deal with that group of people.”
Lin Qian once again admonished her: “But you can’t hurt an innocent table, ah. You have to go back and fix that hole.”
The brother and sister began to haggle over the fixing of the hole. As they bickered, they soon arrived at the garage, where Zheng PingQing was waiting for them. Zheng PingQing smiled and began to say h.e.l.lo but was startled when he saw the knife in Lin Qian’s hand. He asked: “Did sister-in-law kill again?”
“Again?” Shao SiJia frowned. “Kill?”
Zheng PingQing lifted his hands. “I’m just interpreting the facts presented to me.”
The trio got into the car, and Shao SijIa asked: “Has something happened? You specifically asked me to have lunch with you guys today.”
Zheng PingQing facepalmed. “It’s my dad. He wanted to ask you something.”
Shao SiJia was confused.
Zheng PingQing sighed and explained: “He’s going to visit one of the company’s branches next week in the capital city. While he’s there, he’ll be attending a party to meet some of his old buddies.”
Shao SiJia still didn’t understand. “What does that have to do with me?”
Looking quite embarra.s.sed, Zheng PingQing said: “He wants you and me to attend the party, to keep up appearances.”
Shao SiJia was befuddled. “Your family is already super-rich, and you still need me to keep up appearances??”
As it turns out, Zheng BuLu had an old friend whose business wasn’t as successful but had a son and a daughter. It is said that the son and daughter were quite good-looking. Since this old friend couldn’t be compared to Zheng BuLu in terms of business, he would often brag about his children instead.
Back then, Zheng BuLu was still estranged with his son. When it came to children, he would always suffer a complete defeat, and it made Zheng BuLu sour.
However, in recent years, Zheng BuLu had developed a good relationship with his son, and what’s more, Zheng PingQing had racked up great achievements. While studying in university, Zheng PingQing had managed to double the company branch’s capital several times in a row, shocking Zheng BuLu’s peers.
So now, Zheng BuLu was feeling incredibly smug. Before, he had nothing to show off and could only act like a dignified rich man. Now he could happily concentrate on showing off his son and silence those pompous old friends of his.
This upcoming party would be the first head-on confrontation between Zheng BuLu and his old friend in years. Zheng BuLu had to pull out all the stops if he wanted to win.
Zheng PingQing could easily crush the friend’s son. If Zheng BuLu could bring out a beautiful daughter…well, the business community wouldn’t be able to do anything but bow down to the supreme Zheng BuLu.
Shao SiJia, after listening to Zheng PingQing’s explanation: “….”
Lin Qian, who heard this truly fantastic reason for the first time: “…”
Shao SiJia, this dignified little overlord, choked. “That sounds like a reason people just can’t refuse…”
“I don’t want to do it either, but he’s been hara.s.sing me for over half a month now. My ears are ringing just thinking about it…”
Shao SiJia asked: “Why didn’t he ask Lin Qian to go? Isn’t it better if his son and son-in-law came together?”
“He invited me, but I need to go on a business trip, so I can’t attend.” Lin Qian answered.
Shao SiJia looked at her brother. “No wonder you deliberately arranged your business trip for next week.”
Lin Qian was determined to act clueless and replied: “Coincidence, it’s just a coincidence.”
Then, Shao SiJia suddenly realized an important point. “Wait, I’m not his daughter, ah.”
Zheng PingQing was silent for a moment, then said: “…he’s resourceful.”
Shao SiJia: “???”
In the end, Zheng PingQing promised to eat chicken b.u.t.t for a week in exchange for Shao SiJia’s attendance.
One more part for this extra, hang tight!
Also, lel chicken b.u.t.t makes a comeback.
