Chapter 635: Inches Of Land
“Do you know what Spongebob Squarepants is?” Su Yun immediately changed the topic.
“A sponge.”
“What about his best friend?” Su Yun had already succeeded, successfully leading the topic to a field that Chang Yue was not good at.
All fiends were good at using their proficiency to defeat their opponents.
Speaking of drinking, Su Yun was a little unconvinced but the journey was tiring and he felt lethargic. He planned to find Chang Yue to have a big drink when he was full of energy to fight for victory.
Chang Yue was stunned for a moment before she called him childish.
“Patrick is pink. It has five corners and each corner is rounded. Judging from its appearance, it should be a sarcoidosis starfish.” Xie Yiren looked at the picture in Chang Yue’s phone very seriously and said, “Su Yun, what do you think?”
Su Yun was speechless.
He had just asked casually but did not expect to get a professional answer.
Although Su Yun had a wide range of knowledge, he really had not studied starfishes.
Su Yun narrowed his eyes and walked away.
Zheng Ren told Lin Jiaojiao to be careful. Although it was most likely that the small lump was a benign lump, she still had to make a diagnosis and arrange the surgery as soon as possible.
Looking at Zheng Ren’s confident affirmation, Lin Jiaojiao was a little absentminded.
In a large international city like the Imperial Capital, there was never a shortage of talented young people. However, the person in front of her had risen too quickly.
It was so fast that it was overwhelming and made people fearful.
Xie Yiren drove the car. Lin Jiaojiao did not overstep her authority and send them back. Seeing Zheng Ren and Su Yun get into Xie Yiren’s car and drive away, Lin Jiaojiao said, “Department Chief Kong, you have dug out a treasure.”
“Dug?” Department Chief Kong shook his head and said, “It’s a skill to be able to keep Boss Zheng. I’m worried that I won’t be able to do so for long…”
“Ah?” Lin Jiaojiao had not thought about what Department Chief Kong had mentioned.
It must be known that for a large-scale Cla.s.s Three Grade A Hospital like the Imperial Capital Hospital, the chances of their Ph.D. students wanting to stay were very low, not to mention someone gaining success in a place like Sea City.
From Lin Jiaojiao’s point of view, Zheng Ren’s standard was really high but his luck…was also really good.
Department Chief Kong did not tell Lin Jiaojiao about Zheng Ren and the others’ experiences in Sweden. Instead, he pondered over the hidden problems that existed.
The research center had not been built yet. Dr. Mehar said that a large number of surgeries needed to be acc.u.mulated. It was also why Zheng Ren was not interested in the n.o.bel Prize. If it was someone like Su Yun, it was not impossible for him to jump straight to Peking University International and take over half a hospital as the research center.
After all, the new hospital was better than any sort of hardware. It would definitely crush the old hospitals in the downtown area, where every inch of land was worth a fortune. Moreover, the project was a n.o.bel Prize project. How many benefits would it bring to the hospital?
He despised not having any abilities. Zheng Ren was too capable… It was also very frustrating.
Since Zheng Ren did not have a military background, it was impossible for him to use other means to restrain him. Department Chief Kong’s mind was filled with countless thoughts. He remained silent all the way and sat in Lin Jiaojiao’s car.
..
Zheng Ren sat in the pa.s.senger seat, feeling a little strange.
Usually, he sat alone in Xie Yiren’s car. Even if he did not say anything, just feeling the faint warmth was enough.
Today, however, Su Yun and Chang Yue were in the backseat. The two people made Zheng Ren feel like he was sitting on pins and needles.
At that moment, Zheng Ren really understood the meaning of being a ‘light bulb’.
Xie Yiren did not think much of it. She chatted and laughed as she drove back to the Golden Palm.
Her family only had one house in the Golden Palm and she did not want to live too far away, therefore, she could only rent a small apartment downstairs. The two girls stayed at Xie Yiren’s house so Zheng Ren and Su Yun could only make do with the small apartment downstairs.
As for the professor, he was sent to a hotel to stay before he went home.
Zheng Ren did not hesitate at all when he heard the snoring. He directly rejected the professor’s request to stay with him and completely ignored his pleading eyes. That kind of thing could not be discussed.
Within a few days, after going through tens of thousands of kilometers, Zheng Ren and Su Yun were drained.
After returning to the Golden Palm, Xie Yiren brought the two of them to their ‘dormitory’ before leaving.
It was a little different from what Zheng Ren had expected. He still thought that he could live together with Xie Yiren. Even if they were not in the same room, it would still be good to live under the same roof.
Su Yun was so detestable!
However, Zheng Ren did not have the energy to look down on Su Yun. After returning, the two of them washed up and went to sleep.
Although it was a small apartment, it was still a three-bedroom apartment. It was still a little luxurious for Zheng Ren and Su Yun to live together.
It was a place where the people of Chaoyang came and went. It was the Third Ring Road, and every inch of land there was worth a fortune.
Early the next morning, Zheng Ren was woken up by a phone call.
Seeing that it was a call from Xie Yiren, Zheng Ren immediately became energetic. Outside the door, the sound of Su Yun washing up could be heard. It seemed that he was also woken up by Chang Yue.
After washing up and eating breakfast, he rushed to the Imperial Capital Hospital.
It was a new beginning but Zheng Ren was not excited to start a new life.
It was just like being back at Sea City. He ate breakfast made by Xie Yiren before they went to work together. After waiting for Old Chief Physician Pan to come, he would check into his shift and make his ward rounds.
The only difference was that he seemed to be able to bring people with him to make the ward rounds.
When he arrived at the hospital and entered the intervention department, he found that Department Chief Kong had arrived early in the morning. In order to welcome Zheng Ren’s arrival and to calm down any possible unhappiness, Department Chief Kong racked his brain on what to do.
After all, he could not even keep his own doctors at home. If he were to recruit an attending physician from outside with a bachelor’s degree… If any blind person were to provoke Zheng Ren…
Department Chief Kong did not want to see his own doctor being completely abused by Zheng Ren and then slapped across the face by Su Yun.
Although he had told everyone early on that Boss Zheng had come with the n.o.bel nomination project, he still had to be careful.
After ward rounds, Department Chief Kong then brought Zheng Ren to check the ten beds that he had left for him.
These beds were at the back so that they could be managed in a unified manner.
Regarding the patients, Department Chief Kong had taken them all in. He was quite considerate. The problem at the moment was that the patients could finish the first stage of TIPS surgery quickly and recover quickly. They could be discharged from the hospital and go home within three to five days.
The turnover rate of the beds would also be very fast, but what about the second stage of the TIPS surgery?
If the patients stayed for about ten days, the ten beds in Zheng Ren’s hands would be completely inefficient.
In the Imperial Capital, everyone was used to putting efficiency first.
After all, no matter how capable they were, they could not handle a large number of patients. No matter how many patients there were outside, they could not be admitted. Some stayed in hotels for three to four months just to wait for a bed.
Many patients did not fully recover after the surgery and were just kicked out of the hospital to make room for the patients behind them.
Zheng Ren looked around the patients and was brought to his office by Department Chief Kong. He gave Zheng Ren a key as it would be his place from now on.
It seemed a little bad. Zheng Ren was about to decline but Department Chief Kong pushed the key into his hand.
