You want me to go back? Catch me first!
Really, the career of a celebrity is draining.
She sighed as she thought about her previous life choices. Her naive thinking told her that once she became popular, all her hardwork would decrease.
Things didn't turn out that way though. Not only did it increase, she even had to keep up her image everywhere she went!
Now she could only visit the arcade when she snuck out.
She even needed to go to school, in a disguise of all things! The strict princ.i.p.al wouldn't let her in because she would "cause havoc in the school premises".
'What did I do in my past life for me to deserve this...?' A tear was almost visible in the corner of her eye.
Unknowingly, she ended up walking back to her favorite machine, Dance Dance Revolution.
"Hmm?" The music coming from the machine made her interested.
She was very familiar with this music. In fact, it was her favorite one.
The only problem was that it was too hard! She couldn't even get half of the maximum score. As such, she didn't play it as much as the other ones.
If she were to evaluate it, this song would be the hardest among all the songs preset on the machine.
"Just who is attempting this song?" She was curious to the ident.i.ty of the daredevil.
As she laid her eyes on the screen, she could only see one word: Miss!
"Eh..."
Lin Guiying raised her eyebrows. It was almost, no, it was exactly as if... the person playing was a complete newbie!
Just like her when it was her first time...
Watching the man reminded her of her past self. Of her past, inexperienced self...
Right now, she could be considered as one of the experts, although not quite.
If she were to compare her past and present self, it would be like comparing a dragon and an ant. To put it simply, there was too big of a difference!
She turned her eyes to the man playing the game. The movement of his feet was clumsy, he was uncoordinated in his actions, and most obviously, he was panicking!
"Erm... this is... actually not like me..." Lin Guiying was dumbfounded.
The first song she played was also the hardest one, as daring as she was. Of course, it ended in complete and utter failure, but at least she wasn't doing as horribly as the man in front of her!
What the f**k! There was no technique at all! He was purely guessing where the next arrow would be!
As she examined, she found out why. This man, he wasn't even looking at the screen!
He was too busy tumbling and regaining his balance that he had no time to raise his head and check which ones needed to be pressed in the first place...
Lin Guiying widened her eyes. Actually, if she were to compare him to her past self, they would be the ant and dragon, respectively.
She was pretty sure... that this man either did not do much, resulting in his reflexes waning, or had a mental illness! She could not think of any other possibility!
As she couldn't handle it anymore, a word suddenly appeared on the screen: Good!
d.a.m.n! Lin Guiying never thought that he would actually get a "Good!" throughout the whole song.
After all, this song was one of the few that wouldn't allow the player to rely on luck to get any score.
He really got a "Good!". d.a.m.n!
Just as she was thinking that she was underestimating him, the continuous "Miss!"es came back with a vengeance.
"..." Lin Guiying.
.....
Zhou Zhenya got off her chair and stopped studying.
For some reason, she could remember everything at one glance! What did this entail?
It was surreal for someone like Zhou Zhenya, someone who always relied on perseverance and hardwork to get results.
Of course, she did not dare get arrogant, for fear that all of this might just be a dream.
She looked at the clock in her room. It was already half past 5.
"Irk..." Zhou Zhenya was quite startled. Had she... been studying for that long? She did not notice at all!
As she turned her head back to her desk, a mountain of books filled her sight.
"..."
S**t! I have really read this much books! In just five hours!
It seems like... she had greatly underestimated her newfound intelligence.
Although she was quite smart before, it was only compared to her cla.s.smates, who essentially didn't care about studying at all.
However, if she were to compare her past and present self, it would be like comparing a dragon and an ant. To put it simply, there was too big of a difference... Why do I feel like I've used this paragraph before?!
Author, stop being shameless and use different ways to describe your characters! Otherwise, it just exudes uncreativity and laziness.
Eh, what do you mean self-criticism is also being lazy? Eh, you mean I should stop doing these useless paragraphs that don't progress the plot whatsoever, and serve only to pad words? I say you're slandering me! Slander!
Wait, it's technically libel...
