Lu Xi widened her eyes.
In an instant, she closed the gla.s.s doors back again, blocking off the scent that came from the inside. The action was so swift, it seemed like it was never opened in the first place.
'I forgot... I don't like coffee at all!'
That unbearable stench... It reminded her of her mother, who made coffee every single morning just to wake up.
Each time she woke up, she would smell the horrid odor that the liquid drink emitted inside their innocent looking cups and the elegant seeming machines.
Lu Xi herself didn't know the exact reason why she didn't like coffee. Maybe it was because its taste just didn't do it for her, or maybe it was because it reminded her of a certain traumatic event... either way, she couldn't see herself liking this drink anytime soon, or even in the furthest future.
"Miss..." The man was on the verge of giving up on getting the girl's attention. He was about to ask her if she wanted a coffee herself, since she came across as desperate to get inside the café.
At this moment, Lu Xi wasn't distracted by the antic.i.p.ation of getting in anymore. On the contrary, she repulsed that thought. She spun around, allowing the man behind her to take a good look at her face.
Even though he saw her face already, he didn't really scan it properly since the girl seemed like she was in a hurry. Now that she turned around, he blushed, a red tinge prevalent on his face.
A Grade-A beauty, definitely!
It was a first for the man to see a Grade-A beauty such as Lu Xi in real life. He could only see these types on the internet or on television.
He was stuck in a daze, captured by the infallible beauty that the girl in front of him possessed. The man even forgot what the words on the tip of his tongue were...
Truthfully, the usual appearance of Lu Xi wasn't on the caliber of beauty she had currently. Of course, her usual messy hair and the small patches of dirt on her face didn't do her any favors. It was only when she fixed her hair and cleaned her look did she elevate her appearance to another level.
Lu Xi grew impatient, waiting for the man to speak. After a solid three seconds, she clicked her tongue and walked away.
She couldn't execute her well thought out plan as even stepping into the café was a huge obstacle. The concept of her sitting inside that h.e.l.lish place filled with the smell she despised never entered her mind.
Thus, without any other options, she could only turn around and leave... and wait until the pair came out of the café.
'I can't waste the time I invested into putting on this blasted outfit! This tight waistline is killing me!'
With her rekindled resolve, she walked over to find a place to sit.
The man snapped out of his daze, but unfortunately for him, the girl he was pining for was already gone from his line of sight.
'Hai, this always happens...' The man scratched his head as he walked into the café again to reorder a coffee.
.....
The four seated on the table blissfully drank their respective coffees.
Well, not really...
Fan Xinyue had an impa.s.sive expression as she lifted the cup and sipped the coffee inside. As a regular, she was used to this particular flavor, especially since she ordered it the most in the summer season.
Even though she appeared apathetic about this drink, she was definitely enjoying it inside... probably.
Beside her, Lin Guiying struggled to continue drinking. That was because once her tongue came into contact with the piping hot coffee, not only did she get burnt, she also found out one important fact about this flavor – it was written on her blacklist.
She didn't forget about the possibility that her taste palette would be different from hers, but she didn't take into account what would happen if she had completely opposite tastes to her.
Lin Guiying thought that at most, she would find the flavor that Fan Xinyue ordered to be just "OK". Never did she expect it to be "Yuck, this is disgusting" tier!
At this moment, she was contemplating her life...
On the other side of the table, there was Zhou Lei, who had a wry smile on his face.
He, too, didn't like the taste of the coffee that much, but it wasn't really that detail that made him slightly uncomfortable. After all, even though the flavor wasn't his type, he could still bear to drink it properly, unlike a certain girl...
The detail that really got him dreading the atmosphere was the fact that another certain someone was staring at him directly.
Ma Xiaoli had her eyes set on Zhou Lei, never having moved since five minutes ago, when the group received their orders.
This was reasonable. After all, she already stated her reason for her presence – Zhou Lei, or in her terms, Leilei. What else could she be doing if not staring directly at his face, which may or may not have hypnotized her during their first encounter?
The endless abyss present in his eyes was enough to keep Ma Xiaoli busy for weeks on end...
Zhou Lei felt the urge to stand up and go home. His feet were itching to move, but he was trapped as Ma Xiaoli blocked the way off. Anyway, he couldn't just leave Lin Hanying alone...
In the end, he made the decision to speak frankly. He removed the cup off his mouth and put it down the table. "Ying. I... don't like this flavor."
The two in front of him raised their heads, one sympathizing with his situation inwardly and one confused as to why he couldn't bring himself to like the flavor.
However, the moment of seriousness was ruined by a laugh coming from the side... It was Ma Xiaoli.
