The Ghost Dungeon Master 25 The Goblin Lord And His Army

"My lord, my lord!" a panting and rustled up goblin came rushing into the camp, it's clothes all messed up and torn to rags. It was supporting it's entire body weight with a staff that acts like a walking stick.

This was the same goblin mage that had escape from the ghost's dungeon, seeing that goblin in tatters, a hobgoblin came out from inside and supported the goblin, as they move back into the camp.

"I have to tell the lord about what happened!" the goblin mage whispered desperately to the hobgoblin. Fearing for it's life, the goblin mage had been trying to reach this camp without any rest or water for the past half a day, as it was scared that the ghost would send a group to chase after it.

The hobgoblin supported it to the tent where the goblin lord resides.

"My Lord, my lord, the entire scout platoon have been annihilated, I am the only survival left." the goblin mage tried his best to speak out when he tumbled into the tent.

Within the tent were the goblin lord and the goblin knights, they were currently surrounding a table which had map of the entire area with different color flags on it.

Seeing the sudden disturbance, the goblin knight nearest to the goblin mage immediately grabbed it up and wanted to throw it out of the tent.

"Hold on" the goblin lord spoke out.

Hearing it's command, the goblin knight freezes it's action on the spot and drops the goblin mage on the floor.

"Speak, what happened to your platoon?" The goblin lord looked at the goblin mage and said.

"My lord, we encountered a dungeon and went in to try and subjugate it under your rule, but the dungeon master did not take us kindly and begin ma.s.sacring all of us, there was a undead that could take a full blast of my fireball, I was lucky and managed to escape while the rest of my men were being killed by the rest of his undead minions."as the goblin mage tried to explain what happen.

"Undead, huh, what kind of monster cla.s.s is it? Is it the dungeon master?" the goblin knight cut the chase and went straight into the topic.

"My lord, it looks like a skeleton cavalry. The dungeon master that greeted me at the beginning was a skeleton." the goblin mage immediately reply.

The goblin lord looks down at the map as he glance at the goblin mage before saying, "Where is that dungeon located?"

The goblin mage stood up and walked to the table and pointed at a rough location of where he believes the dungeon is, "Around here my lord."

The goblin lord took a look at the location where it had pointed at and continued speaking, "How big is that dungeon?"

"The entrance is like a small cave with 2 statues and a doorway that leads to somewhere else. There was a lit small hallway that I could see from my position when we were attacked. Please help me avenge my fallen comrades." the goblin mage tried to recall what it saw and tried to plead to the lord.

"Hmmm, you head out first, I will inform you on our decision after a discussion."

"What are your opinions about this?" the goblin lord looks towards his knights and begin asking.

"My lord, we should crashed that measly dungeon before it grows, from that description it should be just a new starting out dungeon with it's default floor. It should not be much of a problem." one of the goblin knight stood out and said.

"I volunteer to head over first and crushed whoever oppose our master." another goblin knight stood forward and said.

"My lord, we could move our army to this location," the head of the goblin mage platoon which look a scholar pointed at a location near the dungeon, "if the dungeon doesn't want to be our allies, we could make the adventurers think that we are the monster horde from this dungeon. It's also a good position as it is much closer to our targeted town of attack."

"This relocation might delay the appointed time of attack by our master." the goblin lord put his finger on his chin as he begin thinking about the proposal.

"My lord, I can get the wolf cavalry to go ahead first, while the main army head over, it should not delay the appointed time." the goblin knight (the one who is currently in crypt prison) stepped out and said.

"Alright, mage inform our master about the relocation and you, take precaution." the goblin lord commanded the head of the goblin mage before looking at the wolf cavalry's commander.

"As your lord commands!" After the both of them reply in sync, the both of them left the goblin lord's tent.

~~~ Back to the current time ~~~

"My lord, we will be arriving at the dungeon location soon." the escaped goblin mage came up to the goblin lord who is riding on a dire wolf.

Not far from the camp that the wolf cavalry setup, a group minor came dashing towards the convoy of marching troops.

"Halt!" the front goblins immediately went into a defensive stance and shouted at the incoming cavalry.

"I need to see the Lord." the goblin atop of the incoming wolf shouted back as it begin to slow down to a halt.

The troops immediately gave way after realizing it was one of their own brethren from the wolf cavalry platoon.

"What's the commotion about?" the goblin lord looked towards the goblin knight beside it and asked.

"My Lord, it seems that the wolf cavalry have send someone over." the goblin knight replied to the goblin lord.

Not long after the wolf cavalry arrived in front of the goblin lord.

"My Lord, there is an emergency." the hobgoblin said in a panic.

"What happened? Where's your leader, how come it didn't come to greet me?" the goblin lord begin questioning the hobgoblin.

"My lord, our leader have been captured." the hobgoblin got off his mount and knelt in front of the goblin lord.

"What? How?" the goblin lord was startled by the hobgoblin's replied.

"I am not sure, but there are survivors who came back from attacking the dungeon they said that our leader have been captured." The hobgoblin replied.

"Get the rest of the army to setup camp and the leaders to come to my tent." The goblin lord looks towards his direct subordinate and said.

"Your words are my command." the goblin knight responded.

After giving the command, the goblin lord said to the hobgoblin, "Lead me to them, I want to find out what happened."

The hobgoblin mounted back onto it's wolf and begin heading to the camp and towards the tent where the injured were currently at, as the goblin lord followed closely behind.

Before the goblin lord walked into the tent, it could hear groaning coming from inside. The sight of what it saw as it enter was horrendous, blood was everywhere as the injured were all laying and sitting around the floor. Most of them had opened festering wounds and there is a putrid stench surrounding the tent.

"My lord."

Hearing a weakened voice from the corner, the goblin lord looks towards the direction of the voice, it came from one of the sitting up hobgoblin, who had a bandage around it arms. It was one of the few that wasn't too badly injured.

"What happened here, why are there so many injured?" the goblin lord begin questioning the hobgoblin.

"My lord, the information that was given to us was wrong, there is a huge swamp and a fortress instead of the cave and a small hallway. Our forces were split into two by the iron gates. Arghh," the hobgoblin bang it's fist on the ground as it continued, "There were four gargoyles and many skeleton archers and skeleton mages and zombies, there was even a sinister looking knight. When we are fighting for our lives, I remember our leader calling the sinister knight a wraith knight." the hobgoblin became more and more agitated as it continue speaking.

"There were ledges all around the place where we were trapped in, skeleton archers and mages were shooting down at us. Just when we thought our forces had broken through the iron gate, zombies came flooding in. I don't know how, but the splitted up force that was trapped on the outside was completely wiped out. But for some unknown reason, the wraith knight let us escape and didn't chase us, our wolves on the other hand were not so lucky, they had killed them all. However, we were attacked by the zombies on the way out of the dungeon, these bleeding and festering wounds are cause by them."

"I see, alright calm down and take a rest." After saying that, the goblin lord walked out of the tent and headed towards it's own tent.

"My lord, what's the current situation like?" the head goblin mage asked as the goblin lord entered the tent.

"Our entire wolf cavalry is lost. It seems that this dungeon is growing much faster than we antic.i.p.ated, the information that we got 2 days ago had already changed, now there is a swamp and a fortress. Even the monsters it had have increase." the goblin lord held back it's rage as it's clenched fist trembles.

"What do we do now my lord?" one of the goblin knight glance at the goblin lord and asked.

"How long before the siege weapons arrive?" the goblin lord looks back at the goblin knight and question.

"It will be arriving in 1 day." the goblin knight replied.

"Mage, inform our master that we have a undead dungeon that needs to be taken care of, it's growing too fast. If we leave it be, it will bite back at us in the future. We will have to delay the planned attack on that human town." The goblin lord looked at the head goblin mage and said.
