Reign Of Worm 11 Heading Deeper

Positivity and possible death, that is. Nothing I can do about it I suppose. Let's get going!

As I slowly worm my over to the nearest wall, something catches my eye, halting me. Is that a hole in the ground? Not like a hole in my sense like the pond, but I can feel heat rising from a hole over there. I wiggle over to take a look and gasp. It is a hole! Leading straight down! I can feel a deep sense of foreboding when I look down that hole, like it goes way deeper than I want to go right now. Let's not f.u.c.k with that. Don't want a huge ground beetle to crawl from down there and eat me. Yeah let's definitely just not.

Curiosity quickly appeased and a sense of fear growing, I worm my way back to the edge of the tunnel before I plunge in and start my project. I'm a worm, no doubt about it, and I'll worm myself a tunnel until I feel the tunnels around me again, then I can explore.

It's a good thing the dirt, or I guess it can be called more soil now, gets better the deeper I go. I don't stop to eat, mindlessly worming my down and weaving a small tunnel that can be easily used to quickly go back up if need be. A way out, so I don't go blank with fear of the prospect of whatever new horrors await. Now that I think more clearly, I realize it was probably a mistake to leave the upper levels as I deem them, but I don't know what came over me. Some good old human depression maybe, it doesn't matter there's no going back now.

Well hot d.a.m.n! I suspected that with better soil I would begin to get more life matter from tunneling but it feels good to prove it. The confirmation brings light to my still quite depressing trains of thought and I begin to worm happily, increasing my dirt intake at the cost of some sheer speed. It's a worthy trade-off though. Truly worm zen, the ever-elusive calm from tunneling and eating soil.

[Terraform has reached level II]

h.e.l.l yeah! My first level in my new terraform skill really brings in some nice boons, along with a sweet cold sensation that soothes my mind. It cleverly closes some gaps in my knowledge, such as how to tell the best place to tunnel, how to use my mandibles to clear harder or larger bits of rock and dirt, and so on. Pretty d.a.m.n nifty if I say so myself!

Hours go by and I start to feel lonely again. As much as I may want to deny it, those d.a.m.n acid centipedes gave me a sense of purpose, one which I now lack, beyond purely getting stronger. I have no friends, no one to talk to, and none of the human interaction that would bring me even temporary joy in my previous life. I tend to try and forget it, but most of my knowledge and subsequent sanity came from that life, and without it I feel distinctly inhumane. Sounds weird, I know, but I can't get used to being a worm just like that. Worms are too simple.

That being said, I didn't enjoy a good previous life either. I wasn't some n.o.body to be sure, but I did live a pretty pathetic life with few friends and only one relationship. And even that ended pretty terribly. Now that I think about it, how did I even die? I don't remember it at all, not even what I was doing beforehand. Hmm, I suppose some things should be shrouded in mystery. Wow this journey has truly been full of depressing thoughts.

A couple of hours once again pa.s.s, and I find myself deep into the unthinking oblivion of worm tunneling, when something blips on my heat sense. I appreciate my heat sensing gland much more now, as my range and level of precision within have received a considerable boost one I leveled it up. And what do I see? Tunnel, of course! A mega f.u.c.k ton of them in fact, with creatures as well. And so my journey on the second level begins, and I resume my path to get stronger as well.
