"Eh? Why did spatial energy suddenly become so unstable?" Abium startled.
"Hm? Someone must be interfering with the dimensional lock spell." Tabitha put her silver hair up and muttered under her breath.
"Everyone, be careful!" She warned others and stared cautiously at the demon.
During this whole time, the Susur also simply observed them vigilantly and visibly sweating outside. It was now deeply afraid of that dark-colored metal bolt and that second-tier mage. It stood there with a tense expression and waiting for its partner Hogg to quickly remove the dimensional lock.
'Hm? Spatial disturbance?' It's eyes grew wide and soon grin emerged.
'Finally! He is going to undo the spell, huh!' It felt exhausted all over and now longing to return back to the Abyss.
… … …
At the same time,
A few kilometers outside of the royal city stood a small building surrounded by trees. Inside stood a black-robed guy with a red badge on his chest, and his red pupils were looking at the royal capital's direction through the small window with bloodshot eyes. You could also see a small circular orb inscribed with multiple rune letters on his hand flickering from time to time.
"Why didn't Susur picking up the communication orb? What the h.e.l.l is that demon doing inside?" He cursed out loud while still managing to hold that rune circle spell formation under his feet. From time to time, a small spark would appear from the rune circle, followed by a slight spatial elemental fluctuation. At the center of that rune circle, you could also see a deep blue crystal laid there and appears already on the verge of breaking due to the instability.
Bzzt! Bzzt!
"Lord Hogg, what happened?" The small wooden door pushed opened by two calloused hands, and quickly, a brown-haired guy entered the room. He stopped two feet away from that rune circle and showed the anxious expression on his face. You could see he wore the same uniform as other royal knights and also have a small three snake-headed symbol.
"Ugh nothing, that demon is still not responding to my call." When replying, Hogg stumbled a bit away from that magic rune circle and soon regained his balance.
"Are you okay, sir?"
"Yeah, I think I can still hold this circle for two more minutes." Hogg gave a consoling reply and focused his concentration on that magic rune circle.
"Hmm? I doubt your time is already running out misters." A calm yet cold voice came inside that room, and the next instant, a tall figure appeared behind the knight. You could see that man looks almost crossed 40 years and wore a devil skeleton symbol that tailored on the blue robe.
"W-Who are you?" Hogg shifted his gaze towards the sudden arrival of a new enemy with a startled expression and backed away without hesitation, leaving that magic rune circle alone. Meanwhile, the Knight sensed a sudden pain came from his back and felt his whole body got paralyzed and yelped.
Yelp!
Buzzzzzzz! Spark!
The next instant, the whole rune circle started to became unstable and followed by spark flew everywhere from that circle.
Crack! Crack Crack!
"Hmm? where did you find a high-level spell scroll?" that man soon walked near to that rune circle and inspected with a surprised expression and waved his hand.
Swoosh!
Within a blink, the unstable rune circle calmed down and broke into millions of sparks, leaving that small deep blue crystal at the center.
"Y-You are that guy with those necromancers!" Hogg shouted with a trace of panic expression on his face. Hogg remembered this guy from the Orchid auction house and even informed about them to head headquarters.
'Why is he here?'
"Ho! Not bad, mister mage. Let's see who you are working for." That man walked towards Hogg with a calm expression and quickly grabbed his neck without even giving any time to refute back.
"Rilos! Why did you leave me alone in the forest all of a sudden?" Another figure who appears to be a women with middle aged suddenly kicked opened that closed door and entered inside that room with annoying expression.
"Oh, Yalya, you came after me, huh. Wait for a minute." Rilos said and looked back at black-robed mage Hogg with his sharp brown eyes.
"Oh! These two rats are the cause of that elemental fluctuation, huh!" Yalya's face soon turned into a curious expression and looked at Hogg while playing with her gray frizzy hair.
Necromancer Rilos nodded his head and soon cast an unknown death spell. Black nether energy came out from his body like a cloud of smoke and went inside Hogg's mouth. Following that, Rilos closed his eyes and soon found himself inside Hogg's mind, which was filled with nothing but blackness.
AHHHHHHH!
An ear-piercing screech came from Hogg's mouth, and soon, both of his eyes went like a doll-like expression.
"Hm? Something's wrong! I can't be able to see his memories." Rilos frowned. Soon, a figure of a snake-like appearance inside that empty blackness.
'Danger!' Rilos's brown eyes flashed in a glint of light, and the next second, he opened his eyes in the physical world.
BAM!
The next instant, Hogg's head exploded all of a sudden sending scarlet blood, leaving a mini magic bomb sound behind!
THUD!
"Eh? WHAT IS THIS SPELL?" Yalya yelped out in surprise while that headless body fell on the ground. You could see there was no fear or anxiety of the unknown. Instead, her black eyes now filled with curious and some craziness.
"Yalya! I saw a demon snake for a split second in his memories."
"Hm? Demon snake, huh? You mean this is a demon's work?" Yalya's eyes shone in glitter, and both shifted their gaze towards the south.
"Let's check it out!" Rilos said with a grave tone, and then both dashed towards the royal capital, leaving that Knight alone inside that small room.

…
Meanwhile, in the Royal castle garden, Demon stood there waiting for that spell to vanish.
Susur suddenly sensed the spatial fluctuation up above in the sky became stable and soon died down.
'He undid that dimensional lock spell!' It regained its composure. The demon quickly withdrew its black chain back to it's body that was spreading all over the places and gave Abium's group a sharp look.
Although that demon's original plan was messed up, somehow, it managed to get what was its master needed. With this final mission, it's master would reward something big like one whole divinity.
'Where is that slave run off to? He has one of madness divine shard, huh!' It furrowed it's eyes. When it searched earlier, it didn't felt any presence of divine shard near to that area
'Tsk, I have to escape here before other mages come back.' That demon thought. Without wasting any moment, it began to chant while concentrating on that divine shard in it's body.
In an instant, a small portal appeared behind, and the demon jumped into that portal without hesitation.
Next instant, the demon noticed surrounding started to distort, and slowly, it slowly fell on the ground with a loud thud.
THUD!
Even though demon Susur's body was hard enough to withstand the pressure, still it sensed internal injury all over.
Slowly, demon Susur lifted it's snakehead and stared at the lady sat on the crimson throne. Her cold pitch-black eyes glanced at Susur like an insect.
'Eh? Why am I in the throne room? Is this Her majesty Scylla's doing?' Demon Susur grew startled inside. He knew she must have waited for him to complete that mission successfully.
"Susur, did you get that stone tablet?" Her tone was chilling, and suddenly all her long black hairs were moving on it's own, made her expression to frown. If you look closer at her head, you could see every strand of hair has its own life and almost looks like minute snakes. Each of those thin snakes was hissing at each other then soon shifted all of their gazes towards demon Susur. It's like they were discussing what to do with this demon.
"Silence!" Another cold voice came out from her black lips made all those snakes shut their hissing mouths.
"Now! Take out all those materials." She coldly watched that demon and said with some impatient expression.
"Your Majesty, You have to punish that goblin once he came back from his mission. I almost failed because of that goblin's misinformation. But I successfully got that stone. Wait!" The once proud and arrogant greater demon has now shivered in front of that lady. It quickly tapped his spatial ring and checked the materials inside. But that demon started to frown, and slowly it became anxious.
'What is this? Why there are only half of the materials here?' the demon's complexion began to change, and soon, its face went white.
'No! No! No!! How did it disappear all of a sudden?! What to do?' sweats started to pour down from all over its body,
Meanwhile, the Lady Scylla impatiently waited for that demon to take out the materials.
"What are you doing? Take out those materials." She ordered.
Flinch!
Demon Susur felt it had stepped on a snake's tail even though it was a half-snake. If It didn't take out those materials, that demon knew this lady would definitely kill him or make his life miserable. After all, Lady Scylla was one of the heavenly kings who controlled half of the 45th layer of the Abyss. Demon's face went pale, and finally, it chose to face reality.
"M-My L-Lady. I-It seems someone stole half of those materials!" It stuttered while placing the other half of the materials on the ground.
"WHAT?!" Enraging voice echoed inside the castle, which almost shook all those demons in the nearby territory to quiver in fear.
Rumble! Buzz! Buzz.
The whole tower started to shake from the corrupted energy oozing out from her body, and soon few decorative gla.s.ses began to fall along with loud crashing sounds.
Next instant, the whole atmosphere began to change, and slowly, all the demons inside the castle felt a crushing power a.s.saulted them and made them kneel on the ground.
"Do you know what you have done?" Her anger soothed down a little and soon replaced with the annoying voice that caused Demon Susur to gulp, and it begged with painful tears. Blood starting to oozing out from it's bruised areas, and it panted heavily by the pressure.
"M-My lady, Please give me another chance. I will find that culprit and bring those materials back."
"You? Humph. Except for that stone tablet, I will get those materials anywhere, Susur. But I won't forgive you for wasting my energy and time on you."
"My Lady, Please!" It once again begged, but that lady waved her hand.
Whoosh!
Next instant, one of Lady Scylla strands of hair like snake separated from her head and started to expand for one meter long. It quickly arrived near to Demon Susur and bit him. Slowly that Susur's size began to reduce and finally looked more like an imp but have the head of a snake, instead of an ugly face. It now looked like a youthful Caarth demon with pitiful strength.
"Now i am going to take away all of your strength. You will be demoted from the elite squad member to foot soldier just like those pitiful imps in the death valley. I will give you one final change, partic.i.p.ate in the upcoming wave, and get those materials back. Now scram!" Her angry voice made that now demoted imp susur to shiver all over, and soon few Caarth demons ran into that hall from outside and picked that pitiful young away.
Susur started at it's thin hand with dull eyes. It never predicted it would be demoted from the rank and went back to a foot soldier. Moreover, Lady Scylla took away Susur's power, made its expression horrify!
'Who stole those things from me?' It angrily muttered under its breath and walked out of that majestic castle with an agonizing expression.
'I must be wary of those Red Caarth members now on.' It felt multiple malice gazes from everywhere and suddenly thought of Susur's mortal enemy.
'I have to rise becoming a greater demon sooner then I will deal with those three humans. For now, I will use those warriors as my slaves and will make another plan.' It continued to mutter under its breath and walked towards its next destination, death valley. It also thought of teaching a lesson to that spy goblin Grold.
