He could easily escape from this situation if not for that hidden enemy waiting in the ambush. He also intended to help Helena from this situation.
Abium didn't know why she chose to work for that Viscount. Another problem was that she didn't even know anything about him. And he had no time to explain anything to her at this moment.
Abium saw that in front of him was Helena, and two warriors stood behind her.
Then two more warriors on both sides wielding their swords, blocking his path from escaping. And on his behind stood a bald warrior.
It was not just their strength that was scary, but their ability to cooperating was shocking.
Abium can tell only by looking that they were all professional warriors.
Abium had driven to situations like this many times. But with only his strong will and some luck, he survived those battles.
He noticed the person responsible for this mess, and she seems to be looking at him with a pitiful expression.
He suddenly found it funny when the person he had to save was on the enemy side.
"Hahahahaha"
Abium burst into laughter, and that laughter shook the area. He saw the confusion in their eyes, but he didn't wait for them to make the first move and suddenly dashed towards the bald warrior.
Helena and others showed a ridicule expression at Abium when he was rushing toward that bald warrior without a weapon.
Once Abium reached a meter away from the opponent, he started to smile. His aim was not to kill the opponent but to s.n.a.t.c.h the opponent's weapon. In the darkness, he leaped towards that bald warrior in a flash.
Without any sword, the chance of success in the fight using hand to hand combat was almost none.
Suddenly the bald warrior started to become serious not because he thought Abium was stronger but because the confident smile on Abium face made him a little afraid.
A person who had no weapon in their hand but chose to confront with bare hands were two types: one was a fool while the other one was an expert. He didn't know which one was this half-elf.
The bald warrior's expression was intense. So he began to rush forward and slash at Abium's direction crazily.
There was no fear in Abium's eyes; instead, he looked at his opponent like a prey.
Abium's eyes captured even a minute movement of his opponent, and he could predict right away what the bald warrior would do next. So, Abium easily evaded the slashes from his opponent.
He tapped his hand and suddenly took a Red elder tree fruit from his s.p.a.ce ring and threw it towards the lone warrior's face.
When the warrior noticed an object appeared out of nowhere, and it moved towards his face, he used his sword then cut the fruit. But a sudden small fire explosion happened, and smoke appeared around that warriors face. Because of the night, the fire blinded the opponent's eye, and Abium used that opportunity.
Red elder tree, a medium-sized tree and that can be found only near the border areas of the forgotten lands.
The fruits from these trees are called flame fruit due to it produces a fiery explosion.
Abium thought it might be useful in the future, so he picked it up but didn't expect to use it very soon.
He kicked the bald warrior's wrist while he was distracted.
Due to his powerful kick, the sword fell from the bald warrior's grip. Without giving him any chance, Abium caught that sword in the midair then backed away.
Suddenly he felt an immense danger coming from behind, so without hesitation, he ducked and rolled away from the placed where he stood.
A sword cut through that place where Abium stood before, and he saw a young age man appeared from behind that bald warrior.
When Abium saw that man, he suddenly remembered a face from his memory; he knew the ident.i.ty of that man even in that light darkness.
He became alert because this young man was a dangerous one who would shake the whole country.
Beads of sweats started to appear on his forehead, and he clicked his tongue.
Abium turned his gaze towards Helena, then thought of something and nodded his head in understanding.
He took a step back and spoke in a bitter tone.
"I never expected to meet the star of Roseglen city and appears to be working with the order of the dead. Nice to meet you, Mr. Vice-captain of Roseglen city guards. Or shall I call you, Mr. Watson?"
Abium words caused others to put in a tense mode, even including the vice-captain.
Vice-captain of Viscount Gauvain was a guy who always wore a mask in public. No one knew his name or his origin, even including viscount Gauvain's family members.
But Abium knew some information about him from his past and had some bad history with him.
A young-looking warrior with black hair, and had an unknown origin showed in front of the Viscount's mansion three years ago.
And Viscount itself immediately selected him as vice-captain of city guards, which caused a huge uproar. Even during his past life, he didn't know much about him besides his name.
Watson was worked for some organization and revealed his real intention to the public during the gathering of n.o.bles that would happen in six months.
He a.s.sa.s.sinated the crown prince and took many other n.o.bles' lives during that incident. After that, the Royal family found out Viscount was the one who helped Watson to kill the crown prince and put the highest bounty on Watson's and viscount's head.
But when royal knights arrived at Viscount's territory to arrest Viscount, they found dead bodies all over the whole Roseglen city! No one was able to found out what happened there.
When his name got leaked, Watson asked Abium in a threatening tone, "How do you know my name, kid?"
He grinned without giving him any reply. Then he slowly headed towards Helena's direction and asked her in puzzlement.
"Why are you working for viscount?"
Abium remembered in the past, and he met with her two months after the goblin's ambush incident.
At that time, she saw chased by Viscount's guards, and he helped her to escape from their pursuit. Well, mostly because they got help from Oliver and later both became good allies.
Abium didn't ask anything about the reason why she got herself involved with Viscount's business at that time.
When Helena noticed Abium asked her that question, she gave him a glaring look and replied.
"Why do you care? Don't talk to me like that you already know me."
There was a trace of annoyance in her voice.
But suddenly, a voice interjected their talk.
"Helena! Why are you answering his question? Capture him"
Watson ordered her, and everyone immediately took out their sword from their sheath and blocked his every side.
But Helena stared at him for a long moment and asked in a solemn tone.
"Have we met before?"
He can feel the tension between the surroundings, so he replied quickly.
"No. But I know about your sister and her whereabouts."
When he finished his reply, a sword came from behind towards his neck from his left side warrior.
Abium raised his sword to intercept the opponent's sword and retreated further. Suddenly he heard Watson's voice echoed from behind.
"Kill him."
When Helena heard the word sister from Abium's mouth, her whole body trembled a little.
And she stared at him vigilantly, then pointed her finger towards Abium and stuttered in a low voice, "Ho- How did you know my sister? No, you are bluffing, n.o.body knows about her ident.i.ty. Who are you?"
Abium didn't have time to explain, so he just said: "Her name is Camellia, and if you need other proofs I will say yo-"
Helena suddenly took her blade away and began talking, excitedly, "No need to answer. Except for some people, no one knows her name. Did she send you to look for me? How is she?"
Helena's sister left home to go on an adventure but never came back. So Helena began to look for her sister and found out Roseglen city was the last place she came in contact with the adventurer's guild.
Everyone except Watson in the battle was suddenly startled by Helena's behavior.
Abium responded to her, "She is fine for now. But first, I need your help if you want to know more about her"
When Helena heard that answer, she knew that negotiating with that necromancer or Watson was not a good option.
She might be able to convince Watson if not for that necromancer told them something about pure soul about this half-elf.
So immediately made her decision and bowed towards Watson then pointed her sword at him.
"I am sorry, vice-captain. This half-elf is the only clue to find my sister."
She didn't even show any hesitation and agreed to help Abium also though it looks impossible.
Other warriors also backed away then stared at the two of them vigilantly. For them, this mission was supposed to be helping the necromancer and follow Watson's orders. They were the most trusted warriors of Viscount Gauvain. But now they don't know how to respond at all.
Watson also stood there whole time silently and pondered. He remembered the time when Viscount once told him something about this girl. At first, Viscount didn't know anything about what Helena was looking for and confused.
But after Viscount helped her several times, he was able to guess what she was searching for must be an important person.
So Viscount promised Helena that he could help her, but she had to work for him till he found that person. Helena also didn't have any other choice, so she agreed to his requests because she didn't know anyone except Viscount.
But now Watson knew what Abium and Helena were talking about, so he issued the command without hesitation "Kill both of them! Don't show any mercy towards her, because she betrayed Viscount's trust!"
Watson also knew about Helena's strength; she might be a 2nd tier warrior but was already in peak stage. Because of that reason, viscount planning on recruiting her in the future.
Helena's combat strength could equally match with ordinary 3rd tier warriors. So Abium didn't have to worry about her being in any dangerous situation.
Fighting a monster was not very difficult because of their intellect was very low. Most of the Monsters would compete based on instincts.
But intelligent species like high tier monsters or peoples were a different matter. They would use their abilities, techniques, and tactics to fight an opponent.
Fighting an intermediate monster was easier than battle against 3rd tier warrior.
Watson's mind also was filled with some complex emotions because he felt anxious about this half-elf who stood in front of him.
'I don't know how this half-elf even knows about me! But the cost of knowing my ident.i.ty means I must kill him along with that woman.'
Abium and Helena also nodded at each other then ran towards the two warriors who stood a few steps behind Helena.
Once they within reach, Abium applied mana into the sword, then sword aura began to form.
He noticed the same type aura formed around Helena's dagger. Abium can tell just by the look that she had already mastered basic sword aura.
When Watson saw both of them using sword aura, he warned other warriors.
"Don't go near them without any protection. Both mastered sword aura."
Abium saw in front of him were ordinary 2nd tier warriors without practicing any sword techniques.
He closes the distance towards the left side warrior and raised his sword then prepared for an overhead strike.
When the warrior intercepts his attack, Abium gave a hard kick towards his groin then chopped the opponent's weapon into two. Meanwhile, Helena blocked other warrior's attack and pushing him back.
Abium thought this was an excellent opportunity, so he took a step forward in a striking form and lunged towards his opponent's abdomen. When the warrior noticed the attack, it's already too late. His sword pierced the opponent's stomach in the next second.
Then Abium used his heavy blow against the opponent's head. It is a vertical attack that contains his full power.
Within the next second, the opponent's head and body split into two, and blood splattered everywhere.
It was the first time Abium killed a human being after the transmigration. But, he didn't felt any disgust because, in his past life, he had killed hundreds of lives during the war, and most of them were humans.
Once he wiped the blood off from his face, he moved towards the right side. Both Helena and her opponent were stopped their fight when Abium killed his opponent in a few seconds.
Abium also aware of this crucial moment so, he used his sword aura, and the sword tip moved towards the other opponent's neck.
Abium saw Watson moved towards him at an unimaginable speed and blocked his sword from reaching that warrior's neck.
'clang'
Suddenly a metallic sound was heard and caused others to back away one step.
Abium felt the pressure of his opponent's strength in that single attack.
And Watson's body was covered by red-colored warrior qi energy, and his sword was also emitting intermediate sword aura.
Abium a.s.sumed right away that Watson broke into the 4th tier warrior already.
Warriors use their qi cultivation to strengthen their muscle till they reach 3rd tier warriors.
But once they reach their limit, then their body will be transformed and began to emit warrior energy or battle qi.
Once somebody achieved this stage means they broke through into 4th stage warrior.
, Abium, without hesitation, used his intermediate sword aura to block Watson's attack. Due to his mastery in sword technique, he was barely able to avoid being hit by the opponent.
