"We're going to Tot right now!" Joe screams.
"Are you an idiot?" Kay asks. "What if she's being chased or something? That would put her in danger."
As soon as the sun went down, Joe called us. We followed him to the forest, he had told us he wanted to talk about Mary. I thought I would be forced to tell her about her problems, but that was not the case, her real desire was to go after her right now. Yeah, the idiot ended up telling me where she was going.
"If you're not just gonna stay." Joe talks by raising his voice even more. "We're going after her."
"Go ahead, you r.e.t.a.r.d, it won't be the first time you've f.u.c.ked everything up. "Kay speaks in the same tone.
They both put their hands on their guns at the same time...
"Let's stop this nonsense now." I can't keep my mouth shut, and I end up screaming too.
~POV Lucio~
I feel the wind in my face. Every time I leave the demonic continent, I'm struck by a strong nostalgia.
Today we are heading for the human port city. Let's look for the tributes that were offered to us by their rulers. Humans seem to be trying to have a friendly relationship with us.
"And to think that humans would simply sacrifice some of their own." A soldier standing next to me talks.
His clothes were white with some details in gold, representing that he was a first cla.s.s soldier of the vampiric kingdom.
"Humans are like that, they harm someone of their own kind to be favored." Another soldier says arriving on deck. "Grab the covers, I don't want to see anyone turning to dust."
He throws a black cape at the other soldier and then hands me over to the other one.
"You guys talk like you've never been human," I say as I look up at the sky.
However, they're right. Today for example, they are sacrificing several people for us, a simple 'offering', doing something like this is unthinkable for us vampires, actually at least if 'really' they are vampires, we can be called in the same way, but transformed are a subspecies.
"We're coming." The soldier who delivered the covers talks.
When we got to the coast we didn't see anyone, but I can hear them, they're close. I concentrated a little more on my hearing, several people in the east and three in the west, I can hear their heartbeat.
"Let's do like last time." I answer it by taking the lead.
~POV Chloe~
When I try to separate them I feel that something is wrong, I couldn't explain it right, but sometimes I have these feelings before something bad.
"Protect yourselves!" I'm screaming at you both while I'm down.
Something's flying towards us. The two little things. .h.i.t the swords of Kay and Joe, causing them to let go.
"What was that?" Kay asks by taking a step back.
"What the f.u.c.k?" Joe shakes his hand.
Kay goes down and grabs a rock, that's what hit them.
"Do we have such a good aimer?" I end up talking my thoughts.
"You don't, but our side has some." A voice comes from the dark.
We turned in the direction the voice was coming. There was a tall and muscular man, used to think Joe was the strongest person I know, but near that guy he was tiny. He wore a white uniform with black details.
"Now, what am I gonna do with you?" The man says he's getting a little closer.
"Who... Who are you?" I've decided to ask a question so we can have time to prepare.
I put my hand on the hem of the sword.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," he says looking at me, "We vampires are known to be well-balanced, but they say I'm the exception to the rule."
A vampire? So soon?
"Don't make me laugh." Joe talks in advance.
I can't see what happened. In the blink of an eye, the vampire would lift Joe up by the neck.
"Easy there, kid." The vampire says as he smiles. "I'm not someone you can face."
"That's what we'll see." Kay speaks.
He was already standing, aiming at the vampire's side, where he shoots two arrows. However, the vampire was much faster, plays Joe on Kay while deviating from the arrows, soon after he turned to me, who had taken the sword.
"Are you sure about that?" The vampire keeps his guard down. "I didn't come here to fight, you're already exhausting my patience."
Since he was focusing on me, he didn't notice the other two. At this moment it seems that our minds connect, we have been fighting together for a long time. We all attacked at the same time, Joe threw himself and held on to the vampire's legs, I hit him with my sword hitting his chest, Kay shoots two arrows towards his head.
"You're boring." We can only hear his words, but his body was no longer where it was before.
In an instant he's holding my sword and Kay's arrows.
"How did the soldiers fight these things?" says Kay.
The vampire starts laughing when he hears.
"What are you laughing at?" I talk about looking around, try to find someone who can help us, but...
Without backup, everyone must be in combat.
"That's a funny story they made up for you." The vampire says as he swings my sword like a conductor. "We vampires have never been in this town!"
He shoots Joe away and throws the arrows near Kay's feet, they enter the ground as if they had been shot.
"Joe!" I scream when I see him being played.
I try to run to get it up.
Kay is silent after the vampire's speech, he was probably angry that the vampire was lying to his face. That was your town.
"Don't kid yourself, Kay." I try to talk to my partner, after all, we've seen the damage. "The bodies that were here..."
"Bodies?" Once again our enemy begins to speak. "Did you by any chance see bites on their necks? Besides, you've seen the yeasts, it's not our custom to tear our enemies apart."
"Vampire victims do not usually have these wounds, they are usually clean blows that destroy hearts or rip their heads off. At least that's what I've heard." Kay speaks by looking at the ground.
"We keep the cla.s.s even during the fight. Fast attacks, fast deaths. Why would we rip off arms or break them in half? Waste of blood." He says smiling, right now I can see his prey.
Thinking of the bodies I've been carrying, I see. The bodies were completely destroyed, but...
"Why would we believe you?" I try to ask, I need something that says he's lying, anything.
"It's true, Chloe..." Kay interrupts. "I've been thinking about it for a while. It wasn't the vampires who killed these people."
"So... who killed them?" I mean trying not to think of the most obvious answer.
"Isn't that obvious?" The vampire smiles one more time. "It was you yourselves. Humans always kill each other, you start wars with each other, all after power. You are sacrifices that have been offered to us."
"Sacrifices..." I kneel on the floor listening to your words.
Kay also releases his bow. We have no chance of winning.
"You've got to be kidding me." Joe says getting up. "I'll never accept that."

"You have no human choice." The vampire approaches him talking.
"I'm a hero, I've come to rewrite the history of this world, I can't just fall here." Joe says he's panting.
A red aura begins to envelop your body. Your veins jump. The emitted aura makes the surrounding air warmer, even distant it could feel.
"A hero?" I speak, even though I know the term, your words do not seem to get into my head.
Those were the vampire's last words. When I noticed his head was in Joe's hand and his body was on fire on the ground.
"Joe..." Kay slowly lowers towards his bow. "Can you hear me?"
Joe's expression has completely changed. His eyes opened to the maximum, but it was not possible to distinguish his irís anymore, everything was red.
"Run Chloe!" Kay screams and takes the bow from the ground and rolls back shooting an arrow.
But his arms come off his body, one of them falls near me. I'm paralyzed, my body doesn't move even if I try as hard as I can. Kay was screaming in pain as Joe stepped on her neck.
"Joe, stop it!" I try to scream.
But it was too late, Kay wasn't moving anymore.
I look to my right. My sword was just inches away from me. I try to reach out and grab it, but I feel something in my belly. Looking down I see Joe's hand entering through it.
"You..." My words are interrupted by coughing.
"I'm sorry." Joe says.
A tear drips from his face. His aura begins to dissipate as he looks at his hands bathed in blood.
"You..." I try to talk, but I'm interrupted by the cough.
"I didn't make it in time." A voice came from behind.
I can't look at who it is, all I can do right now is hold on to my belly as hard as I can, trying to stop the bleeding anyway.
"Who are you?" Joe was talking to the unknown person.
"My name is Lucio. I'm a n.o.ble vampire." His voice was calm, even in that situation.
Joe seems to be trying to go towards the vampire, but his speed isn't the same. Your aura is weakening more and more.
"You have two options." I hear the sound of a gun coming out of the vampire's sheath. "Fight or flee, if you choose the first option, we'll probably both die here. Even if I win, there are still more vampires around."
Joe changes his look from his hand to me. After a few seconds of thinking he turns around and starts running.
After he disappears from sight, the vampire comes to me. My vision is darkening, but I can feel the presence of the man behind me, he was close, but still I can't see his right face, everything is blurred. His voice is kind and he touches me carefully so as not to hurt me, he is examining my wound.
"You won't make it to the camp like that." Lucio speaks by looking around. "We lost one of our..."
I can't hear your voice anymore. Am I missing my hearing?
"I'm still here, don't worry." He's holding my arm so I can feel it. "Now I will give you an option to live. It will be difficult and painful for you, but you will have a chance to meet your friend... or your family."
How did he know that? I have no idea, but... I think of Mary and my family that I had left behind, Joe, have you managed to regain consciousness? What was that aura? I want to know, I want to see Maria again, apologize to my family.
"I... I..." But once I start coughing, I can see the blood coming out of my mouth. "I'll do anything."
"Then come to our side." His voice sounded firmer. "Become a vampire."
"I accept."
I feel a bite on my neck, your fangs entering my skin. After that Lucio moves my head gently, looking up, then drips two drops of blood into my mouth. For some reason the taste of blood begins to change, increasingly sweet, like a dessert that my mother used to make. The wounds begin to regenerate and my status appears in front of me.

My status fell, my magic, which had learned the basics of each element, if they stayed, and I gained new skills.
"Sorry, I forgot to warn you your status would fall." Lucio apologizes.
Now, with the vision returning to normal, I can see the man in front of me. He was tall, almost six feet tall, grey hair and red eyes, his skin was white. Somehow I feel a certain tranquility being transmitted by him. Probably understanding my look gives me a smile.
"Am I a vampire now?" I ask him.
"Not completely," he says. "It's gradually becoming, I think you can still walk in the sun today. It'll bother you a little bit, but enjoy it."
"I see." I answered low head.
I open and close my hand, I'm alive. I remember Kay, he was nearby. I stand up and run towards him, coming closer I see him. His neck had been crushed, his eyes were open, his expression gave an impression of terror. Same face as when Joe attacked him.
"Can you do anything?" I say turning to Lucio.
"I'm sorry." He's approaching. "I can't bring someone back to life."
The hope I felt momentarily is completely crushed. Kay was dead. Tears begin to fall down my face, I kneel beside you and close your eyes.
"I'm sorry I'm not strong enough," I'm sorry.
"You couldn't do anything." Lucio sighs. "He was a hero."
"Hero..." My words seem to travel in the wind.
Joe was a hero? How was that possible, I've known him forever and I didn't know it...
Lucio helps me bury Kay. We buried him with the other vampire. Lucio told me that all the other adventurers were fine. When they got there, they looked at me with fear.
"Her eyes are red." An adventurer talks.
"Someone undercover?" Another question.
"She's covered in blood, she must have killed someone."
I could hear the whispers from far away.
"I'm sorry I made you do that." Lucio says approaching.
"All right, I don't think Kay would mind..." I keep it down.
To become a complete vampire I had to drink some of her blood. At least I didn't have to hurt anyone.
"It's dawning." He gives me a black cape. "This is a special cape, if the sun bothers you too much to put it on."
"Thank you."
As he had said, the sun's rays began to appear behind the tree. I felt a slight pain in my skin, which bothered me a lot, but it didn't hurt. I look at the sky, it's the last time I'll ever see him that blue.
