She walled over to where the Amriel princess was admiring an ornate dagger, "Have you seen Zylvia?"
The princess looked up and around, blinking her eyes, "What? Has she gone missing?"
"She's probably fine," Even though Fayre was saying this there was obvious worry apparent on her face. "I'll go look for her."
"I can come with you. Or send Asrar"
"Stay, Asrar too. She might come back. If I can't find her in two hours I'll come back here."
"Alright." Hazel's brow furrowed, "Be careful."
Fayre nodded. As she left to look for Zylvia she kept herself to the more busy places. People nodded to her as she went by, some were old friends from before she had married Jayesh. She asked several if they had seen Zylvia. She finally found someone who had seen her bolt pa.s.s.
Puzzled, she headed down the area the man had seen her best friend go down. She kept an eye out for the brilliant red hair of her friend. How had she managed to lose someone who always stood out in a crowd?
After searching for a while, she finally saw her friend coming towards her. She had some snack foods in her hands. Fayre felt both relieved and at the same time annoyed. Zylvia had really worried her and all she had been doing was getting food?
Zylvia started guiltily as she saw Fayre coming towards her, "Did I worry you? Sorry, I didn't mean to. I just got a little carried away."
Fayre noticed that her friend was a little red in the face. 'Zylvia must be embarra.s.sed about giving me a fright.' She smiled, "I'm just glad you're okay. Next time let me know before running off, okay?"
"Alright," Zylvia laughed, a little bit embarra.s.sed at what had happened. "Where's Hazel?"
"I left her in case you came back. Come on, let's go back."
When they arrived back at where Fayre had left the princess, she was nowhere in sight. Fayre felt a little panicked. First Zylvia and now Hazel. At least she would have Asrar with her. Fayre didn't know much about the knight, but it was pretty clear he took his job seriously.
She looked around trying to find the girl. Her heart felt a lot more at ease when she saw the two coming back. Well she saw the knight anyway, Hazel was a bit short to make out in the crowd. When she caught sight of their facial features she frowned. It looked like they had been in an argument. Hazel was frowning, and Asrar had a worried look on his face.
"Is everything alright?" Fayre looked at the two.
"Yeah everything's fine," Hazel smiled, though her eyes had a thoughtful look to them as if she wasn't fully there. "You found Zylvia?"
"Yeah, she went on a snack run." Fayre shook her head.
Zylvia let out an embarra.s.sed laugh, "Heh, want any?" She held out the snacks in her arms.
Hazel accepted a few, "You have a good eye for excellent food."
"Don't encourage her."
Though all three girls laughed at this, Fayre noticed that the other two seemed distracted. Especially Hazel. While Zylvia seemed mildly distracted, she was paying attention to her surroundings. Hazel, however, was so distracted with whatever she was thinking of that she would have walked into someone if it wasn't for Asrar yanking her arm.
Fayre wondered what had happened to the two. She hadn't been gone that long. Zylvia though snapped her out of these thoughts by asking her what she thought of a nice looking chain with a dragon pendant on it. They spent a few more hours in the marketplace and no one else wondered off or got lost, much to Fayre's relief. She wasn't sure she could handle it happening again.
They headed back to the castle. Fayre couldn't wait to tell her love all about the trip. Most of it had been fun and she would like to do it again.
It was dinner time, so they just headed to the dining hall. Fayre immediately headed to her husband's side. She gave him a peck on the lips as she sat down beside him.
"Thanks, Zylv." She heard Kaldrek say as he accepted the journal Zylvia had gotten him, "I actually needed a new one."
Fayre found herself smiling. Kaldrek and Zylvia really did suit each other. It would be wonderful if they only agreed.
After they finished dinner, Zylvia immediately bolted off. Hazel retired to her room, leaving just her husband, Kaldrek, and her.
She listened to the two men talk. Zylvia must have been tired. Not surprising, it had been a long day. Finally, her husband bid Kaldrek goodnight, picked her up and headed to bed.
