'This isn't enough to pose a threat to the thirty elites led by Charlie… did I overthink things?' Caesar thought to himself as the cart approached the fox-kin men lying in wait.
Time seemed to stop as the cart reached the point where the fox-kin men were hiding, the elites led by Charlie ambushed the trolls at the perfect time and succeeded in surprising them.
Surprise flashed on the trolls faces as they drew their weapons in retaliation, but it was already too late, the elites without a change in expression easily cut down the startled trolls.
Each of the fox-kin elites coated their blades in some sort of flame and charged forward, the tall and lanky trolls attempted to fight back, but it was clear that they were a few levels down in strength when compared to the fox-kin elites.
Caesar, who was still on the tree captured this sight with his own eyes, 'is it possible that it was too late for the trolls to intervene… or perhaps, I'm actually overthinking things?' Caesar couldn't help but feel baffled at the current development.
As Caesar was busy with his own thoughts, the fox-kin elites made quick work of the remnant trolls… blood splattered on their faces and clothes, however, the elites stayed calm throughout the entire battle.
*pew*
*pew*
Suddenly, the sound of arrows flying through the air broke Caesar out of his deep contemplation, a few dozen arrows traveled toward the fox-kin men… they quickly hid behind the carts or raised their shields to block them.
"Haha, you fox filth… Do you really think you could ambush US?" a sinister voice resounded in everyone's ears and from the distance 30 or so trolls led by a troll on a horse entered into their sight.
'How interesting, it would appear that they were late to the party… It took them about two hours to reach this location and from the looks of it, they rushed as quickly as they could' Caesar thought inwardly as he observed the trolls gasping for breath from afar.
Caesar quietly hopped off the tree and stealthily moved closer to the fox-kin elites, he wanted to be capable of intervening at the best possible moment… he moved into a bush just a few meters away from the carts.
As Caesar got closer, he got a better sight of the fox-kin men and could easily pinpoint Charlie amongst them… he had a much shorter and slimmer physique when compared to the other fox-kin, and most apparent of all, he was shaking with fear while the others were relatively calm.
"Hahaha, the little foxes are hiding… TAKE OUT THE CEROS" the troll that was leading the others atop his horse ordered vehemently. The smaller trolls by his side nodded their head and walked to the back lines, after about 5 or so seconds, a huge armored creature showed itself.
It stood at the very least 4 meters tall, it had a compact and strong body covered in heavy armor, on its long snout it had three horns and another on its head.
Caesar who was still hiding in the bush opened his eyes with surprise, the beast was similar to a rhinoceros and elephant combined, however, it looked much bigger and deadlier.
The troll on top of the horse smiled with glee, he raised his hand and pointed to the carts the fox-kin men were currently hiding behind… "GO MY BEAUTIFUL BEAST, DESTROY THEM!" he ordered.
The Ceros sniffed the air a few times and rubbed its front paws on the ground before lowering its body and entering into a charging stance… the Ceros snorted loudly once more and charged forward with everything it had.
*boom*
*boom*
Everytime the beast's feet hit the ground, a loud quaking rang in Caesar's ears, the sound it created, made it easy to understand how heavy this creature really was.
The fox-kin elites behind the carriage all stood up and raised their shields, resolve and determination gleamed in their eyes… it was apparent this was not their first time dealing with such a monster.
As the creature got closer to the cart, the trolls smile got wider and the fox-kin men frowned, suddenly, from a nearby bush, a piercing crimson radiated out.
*SCREEECH*
The Ceros immediately put it's feet down and stopped its charge, large droplets of sweat fell from its body as it gazed at the bush.
*step*
*step*
Caesar stood up and soon became the center of attention, the elites behind the cart opened their eyes wide in surprise while the trolls smiled with disdain.
"How dare you surprise our Ceros with your petty tricks, I don't care if you're apart of the fox-kin race or not, this forest will be your grave" The man leading the trolls spoke sinisterly and ordered the Ceros once more.
But, contrary to his expectations, the Ceros didn't move, in fact, it turned its body and fled into the forest, not even sparing a glance toward the trolls.
"Haha, it would appear your beautiful beast has abandoned you" Caesar spoke sarcastically while chuckling.
"W-what tricks did you use? What did YOU DO TO OUR CEROS?" the troll leader asked with anger, he carried a heavy accent, similar to Jamaicans in Caesar's past life.
"I didn't do anything in particular, I think it was just scared of me," Caesar said with a sly smile which angered the trolls even more.
"Do you know who we are? Or perhaps, you're too idiotic to know the gravity of what you've just done, I'm going to enjoy ripping your bones out" the troll leader said through clenched teeth and pulled out his sword.
"I've been disappointed with my last few battles, you see? I'm always being restricted by not being allowed to kill or having to hide my abilities… but it's fine if all of you die, right?" Caesar asked playfully while licking his lips.
