That was a statement of fact more than anyone's personal opinion. Dai Zhi's army could eat them up and spit them out without breaking a sweat. Judging only from the blank spots they were probably more than thirty-two times stronger than the native fighters, not even taking into account the difference in abilities.

Henrik slammed his fist on the table snapping everyone out of their respective trances. He met Jin w.a.n.g's gaze, "So do you have anything to add? Some new information that could maybe help us?"

"Help you? Help you do what exactly?" Jin w.a.n.g asked confusedly.

"To fight of course," Henrik answered confidently.

Jin w.a.n.g could not contain his astonishment.

"You would fight for these mortals? Why? You know full well what your own people are capable of and how much can be done against them so fight to what end?"

And he had a point. It was one thing to not partic.i.p.ate or join hands with Dai Zhi but to actively move against him, that would be a death sentence for sure. After all even he couldn't just kill them if they only stayed out of his way.

There were almost 65-70 of them all put together and each one came from a relatively powerful background. They were at least capable of protecting themselves if nothing else.

Henrik shook his head without any hesitation, "Technically we are not fighting for the natives, only correcting our own internal mistakes. Our purpose was not to go for an all-out war with them but to compete against one another to measure our leadership and management abilities."

Henrik's expression contorted as he pa.s.sionately gave his reasons.

"But now thanks to Dai Zhi's demented nature that has devolved into a simple slaughter. He has completely lost his mind. I don't know what he is planning to do after getting back home but it won't be so easy, even for him."

"He has openly killed our own people, threatened and extorted others into joining his side and now this. Nothing like this has ever happened before and probably won't happen again so we would at least like to be remembered as the sane ones that stood on the right side of history...or at least that's the official statement we are going to make."

Fulke stepped forward and gestured towards Rhisiat.

"We have all seen what he is doing out there. It is killing for the sake of killing. Hundreds of thousands of locals have already died in his hands and even more are suffering daily because of his actions. We can only stand by and watch for so long."

"Every day more and more people arrive in horrible conditions, most running from his forces and others from the demons and whatnot but at the end of the day, we are the ones who caused all this. They might just be savages by our standards but they are still human. We can't just ignore everything that's going on."

Jin w.a.n.g looked at each of them and saw their resolute expressions. They were not going to back down, not from this fight.

He finally chuckled, "Well, I'm glad there are at least some of you with the b.a.l.l.s to live up to your ancestors' names. It won't be easy though, I hope you know that. Many of you will probably die."

He said that as a worst-case scenario although considering the overall situation with the plague and the potential h.e.l.l gates opening here it might actually come true.

"Doesn't matter, we will still fight," Rhisiat retorted.

"Alright then, tell me what your plan is and what you know about the enemy forces."

Henrik tapped on his spirit band and several images were brought up.

"These pictures were taken by some of the defectors that recently came to join us."

The images showed a large force dressed in all white led by three great beasts.

"This is their main force. They have managed to tame three Ether Beasts from the surface although they have not yet been brought down here just yet. But the biggest problem is the protectors that almost all aligned with Dai Zhi."

"Dai Zhi, Dima and Tian Zheng are all first protectors so we probably won't see them on the battlefield anytime soon, and from the news that I got it looks like Dima had to pull most of his forces for something else too. But both Tian Zheng and Dai Zhi are already down here, although they are not our biggest threat."

He clicked again to swap to a different image of two men.

"Xue Meng and Feng Huang. Both came from outside the continent and we have no real way to make an accurate a.s.sessment of their strength. The only thing we know for sure is that they are probably the most powerful ones here. If either of them were to join any battle they could single handily turn the tide in their favor."

"Well, I don't think you have to worry about Xue Meng that much," Jin w.a.n.g added.
