"I'll do it," Sean said.
"What?" the other responded.
"I'll solve this murder. I'll avenge Lily and make that sick b.a.s.t.a.r.d pay."
"Didn't you see what happened to Lily?" Ruby said. "She attempted the same thing and was targeted because of it. At this point, the best option is to just all stick together and make sure we can all see each other."
"I agree," Simon said. "We don't know who it was but we can stop useless deaths by sticking together. We know they have access to poison so we can only eat and drink from sealed containers that are freshly opened."
"Simon is pretty smart," Ruby said.
"Maybe he is doing it to shift the suspicion off of him," Owen said.
"You're one to talk," Kaylee said. "You first suggested the idea of making sure it was unopened food."
"Huh? Do you think I'm suspicious? Why? We were all in the same room when Ethan died and I was with Ruby when Lily died."
"That's true," Ruby said. "But you could have poisoned her."
"No, I don't think Owen did it," Sean said. "He was watching Ethan's body and stayed with me."
The group went around accusing each other. The friendships they had previously formed crumbled in front of them.
"I'm just saying. It could be you, Kaylee." Owen said.
"What? Why is it me?"
"Yeah, why is it her?" Simon said.
"She was the one who served our drinks. She could have easily poisoned Lily."
Kaylee had no way to escape the situation she was in. The evidence was too much for her to talk her way out off. They all tied her up, making sure she couldn't escape.
"I'm telling you," Kaylee begged. "I didn't do it!"
"I'm sorry, Kaylee," Ruby said tightening the rope. "We have no evidence to prove your innocence."
"I don't think it was her," Simon said trying to put the puzzle together in his head.
"And why is that?" Owen said.
"I-i don't know."
"Well, that's it then," Owen said. "She stays like that until we can figure it out."
The room was split into two. Ruby and Owen were convinced it had to have been Kaylee. Simon defended Kaylee with whatever evidence he could find, but it was useless. He couldn't change the minds of the ma.s.ses.
Sean sat in front of Lily's dead body and watched as her face got whiter and whiter.
"What do we do." He whispered to himself, looking in her pockets for clues.
"Is it getting hot in here?" Owen said.
"It seems the radiators have all turned on," Sean said.
"How strange?" Simon said.
"Ew, what's this?" Sean said pulling out a wet hand from Lily's hoodie pocket.
"Seems like water?" Ruby said.
"Water? How did we not notice it before?" Sean said.
"Ah! It must have been an ice cube." Simon said. "She must have had an ice cube in her pocket."
"What for?" Owen asked.
"Maybe it's a clue? Maybe there is something we missed at the crime scene. I'll go check." Sean ran off up the stairs with the others begging him to stay. At the moment Sean's foot touched the top of the stairs. The lights shut off again.
"What the h.e.l.l?" Ruby said.
"Again?" Owen said before the lights returned.
"Is everyone ok?" Sean said running back down the stairs.
"I'm ok," Owen said.
"Same here." Ruby followed.
"Guys, we have another problem," Simon said standing in front of the chair Kaylee once sat on. "Kaylee escaped."
"Well, that settles it," Owen said. "It's Kaylee."
"I hate to admit it," Simon said. "But you must be right."

"No no no!" Sean said. "This doesn't make sense. How did she escape? Ruby, you tightened it right?"
"Of course. Are you doubting me?"
"Ah, this is so confusing. We have all done something tonight that makes us suspicious." Owen said sitting down. "Let's think about this logically. Starting with Ethan. How did Ethan die?"
"We don't know," Sean said.
"It was a knife." Simon interrupted. "When the others weren't looking I checked his back, he had a cut all up his back. It was small but he must not have noticed he was bleeding out.."
"Ok…" Owen said. "What about Lily?"
"Poison," Sean said. "We can only a.s.sume it's from the drinks."
"Ok, then that brings us up to the ice cube," Ruby said.
"We don't know anything about that."
"What if she knew she was poisoned?" Simon suggested. "What if the poison heats the body of the person and she had the ice cube to cool herself down. The murderer even turned on the heating to make her even hotter."
"I see," Sean said. "I have an idea. We don't know where Kaylee has gone, but we can find her. I have a way."
"What is it?" Owen said.
"I can't say."
"Very well, I trust you," Simon said.
"Me too." Ruby and Owen said.
Sean ran off upstairs wielding a weapon. He searched the area of Lily's last breath and looked closely at every spot.
"Huh?" Sean said finding something underneath a bedside table. "What is this?"
He pulled out a zip of what seemed to be part of a coat.
"Ouch, it's rather sharp."
He looked at it closely and thought back to everything that had happened so far. How Ethan was stabbed without a knife being seen. How Lily was poisoned, and how Kaylee escaped. Only for a large shadow to loom over him.
"I see," Sean said. "So it was you."
Those who remain: Owen, Simon, Ruby, Kaylee?
