Tomorrow was the start of the exam period. With exams approaching quicker than people would like, they were all forced to study. They all needed to make sure they would pa.s.s in order to progress to the next, and final, year. With such little time left they could all do only one thing. In a time like this, they all had one place they always met up at. The only place where they would work to the fullest, Owen's house.
"Please," Owen said begging. "One time. Not at my house."
"Where else can we go?" Ethan said. "Without this place, we would be left homeless on the streets."
"Well!" Owen said preparing a 100 slide PowerPoint. "Allow me to explain it all to you. If you studied throughout the year, you would not be in this mess. Not only are you interrupting my sleep, which I NEED for the morning exam tomorrow, but you are also interrupting everyone here. Have you asked me if I was free? Have you asked anyone here if they are free? Why is it that they all come around when you call them? Conclusion: Ethan is the dictator of the group."
Owen waited for the group to applaud his strange presentation, except no one was listening. It wasn't because they didn't care. They were all focused on tomorrow's exam.
"Listen, Owen," Ruby said. "We need to focus. As much as I wish I could talk about whatever it was you were going on about, I want to beat you in this music exam after last time. That one mark has haunted me every day since then. I have to make sure I don't have a repeat."
"Ooh," Claire said snacking on popcorn and not revising. "Lovers argument."
Those words were enough for everyone in the room to look away awkwardly and hide their faces, each for their own reasons. Owen and Ruby as they were remembering the kiss from a while back. Kaylee, Simon and Ethan as they still are awkward around each other, and then Sean and Lily, as the only actual couple.

"S-should we try and do what we did last time?" Lily suggested.
"Sure," Owen said. "Let's help each other with their weakest. If they are in the same cla.s.s they can revise together and if you are on your own then you will have to revise on your own."
With the plan set. They all separated themselves into sections of the room. Simon and Sean were the Sociology team. Ethan and Owen were stuck by themselves doing Computer science. Lily and Claire paired up and worked on English Language and Geography. Whilst Kaylee pulled Ruby to the side and the two worked on the upcoming drama exam.
Even if there were other pairs, it seemed as if fate had made them like this. It's just so happened to be a coincidence that Ethan and Simon don't want to be in the same group which caused them to study like this.
"So…" Claire said staring a Lily with a creepy whisper. "How are… things?"
"W-why did you say it like that?" Lily replied.
"Oh… you know, anything you wish to tell me?"
Claire pressured Lily into telling her about the events that occurred during the sports festival. Lily wasn't against telling Claire. The two of them weren't that close. Claire acted as if what she knew was a secret when everyone in the room except her knew what was going on. It was clear to the others for some time that things would end up like this and Claire was the only one who didn't know.
"I-i see," Claire said rather disappointed with the result and progress the two of them have made. "Have you kissed?"
"N-no. We haven't done that." Lily said as her head began to overload with thoughts.
"Oh-ho… I see… I see… How interesting…"

"Ethan, that's wrong. Change it." Owen said pointing out one of Ethan's many mistakes.
"That's also wrong. And that. This as well… change this… Jeez… what is wrong with you today? such simple mistakes."
"S-sorry…" He said defeated. "I just can't think. I want to get full marks, but I don't know..."
"Well, I'm sure you'll get full marks on something. Wouldn't it be more embarra.s.sing if I beat you."
"You're right!" he said leaving his depression pit. "I can't have that. I must study to beat you."
"I-I'm glad you got your motivation back but you don't have to be so harsh about it."

"So why did you want to work on drama?" Ruby asked the obviously sunken Kaylee.
"I just wanted to getaway. I don't really want to be here."
Kaylee twiddled her pen around her hands not focusing on the work since she arrived. She had no intention of revising and wasn't in the mood to do so. She didn't care about her results, she was too distort over everything that happened to be able to do anything. She stared into the paleness of her paper for so long that her reflection started to pop up and stare back at her.
"H-how about I try to cheer you up?" Ruby suggested.
"How? The only way to cheer me up is for you to break up with Owen."
"WE ARE NOT LIKE THAT!" Ruby stood up causing the room to have a synchronised heart attack. "At least… not yet…" She said as she sat down, now depressed about her own situation.
With exams approaching. Now was a time to prepare yourself. With the amount of pressure and stress that the school environment forces on kids. It's not always possible to achieve such dreams. If you wish to pa.s.s, the school recommends you isolate yourself and remove any fun you may have in your life. It's not an easy life studying for exams that will decide if you have a future or not. It's not easy for anyone. No matter how much you think you are prepared for it. It throws another mountain at you… just like in life.
