Since the time he could remember he was raised by the maids. They were nice to him but none of them could give him the maternal love he wanted. He got what he wanted only when auntie Sofia had entered his life. It was like she was his mother all along. He had that love, respect and trust in her that he believed was between a mother and her son.
Being the kid he was, he wanted everything to go his way. This ment that when he called out to auntie Sofia, he wanted her to pay attention to him. This natural mentality of his was what lead to the traumatizing event at the pool he believed. He could only seem to replay the fall in his mind over and over again. Each time he would get scared even more.
What if Daddy was not there to save her on time? Did that mean that he did not deserve a mother in his life and that was why Auntie Sofia had almost died too because of him?
Was he a bad boy?
Johnathan could not stop looking and being near Sofia. It was an unconscious action that showed how much he depended on her. How even though he thought it was his fault, he still could not distance himself from her.
The whole way back to the house he did not say a word out loud. He followed Sofia, who was in his father's arms, all the way back on his own. He did not speak a word of complaint even though he was tired from swimming and walking for a long period of time.
The whole time Sofia was unconscious, Johnathan was next to her, holding her hand not wanting to lose her.

Vincent was in no better shape. He had only remembered that she was scared of the pool when he saw her falling in the water. A lapse in memory he could not forgive himself for. How could he forget such a crucial detail. A detail that could have cost him her life.
The minute he had seen her lose consciousness, he had completely forgotten about the world around him. Not even his son, who was still in the water, was remembered. The only thing on his mind was her safety. How to make sure nothing happened to her.
The moment her breathing stabilized, he bolted to the house with her in his arms.
A day that was supposed to have been spent happiness and laughter, was instead spent in tension and self blame.
