World Gate Online Volume 2 Chapter 10: Real Fight

Everything has finally been settled.

The trash King was thrown out of the Kingdom.

A new King will take his place.

And the pure-blooded vampire's honor has been regained.

All that's left is to save the rest of the captured vampires.

Freya was greatly relieved about this.

Now, her worries are slowly decreasing.

She also felt somewhat proud when Lucas received his rewards and the t.i.tle of Marquis.

Although she hadn't met Noir directly, she's still grateful to him for finding the Prince, if he hadn't then Lucas may have really been the one to replace the King and she didn't want that.

After settling their rewards, they all decided to pay a visit to the cave where they were once imprisoned.

Honestly, Freya still feels scared coming along.

Even though Lucas already told her that they're safe, she still hasn't trust that somewhere deep in her heart.

Perhaps to her, it was just too good to be true.

Mastering courage to go, they rode a huge wyvern.

Though it wasn't as big as the dragon gatekeeper, nevertheless, all 6 of them were able to fit comfortably.

It was a new experience for Freya to be up in the clouds and very much wanted to shout. But seeing Lucas and Noir laughing and shouting so loud, she felt it was stupid to join them.

Instead, she just enjoyed the sight of watching the two talk loudly.

"Haha, do you not have wyverns in your world?"

The Prince asked Lucas.

"No way, though we have a machine called an [Airplane] which we ride to fly, but in the end, it's just a machine and we can't feel the wind as we are inside of it. Having a living being to fly is still more amazing!"

A machine that can fly!

Freya is not that familiar with machines but she knows that machines are often heavy. For a machine to fly, and even carry a person, it was a mystery to them.

This made her recall something.

"Ah, speaking of machines. That, Lucas, the black box thing you brought out before, can I borrow it?"

"Ah! Young Princess! I was about to ask that myself!"

It seems that the Arch-bishop was about to ask that himself, it was a good thing that she asked first.

When Lucas handed her the [Cellphone] she was bewildered.

"Oh? Hm? Where's the light and pictures from before? It's all black now…did I break it?"

After all, unlike before, there were no bright light or any pictures moving. Seeing that, Freya became scared and was about to tear up.

"Ah, there it is! Haha, it's moving it's moving!"

After being told by Lucas to push the b.u.t.ton on the side, the light appeared.

Whenever she swipes her finger left or right, the pictures move as well.

"Ah that's right! Let's take a picture!"

"Ooh! A picture on top of a wyvern! Not bad Noir!"

"Hehe, you better send me a copy later! I'll give you my e-mail as well!"

Noir seemed to have suggested something but Freya didn't understand it.

However, Lucas suddenly took the [Cellphone] and was manipulating it.

"To be suddenly taken right after I borrowed it…"

Though Freya complained in her mind, she did not dare say it out loud as it would be rude.

"Hm? What are you doing?"

"Here, I'll show you."

Suddenly, Lucas moved to the furthest back and stretched out the [Cellphone] with the light pictures facing us.

Looking closely, she can see herself displayed there and was small.

"Fawkes! Turn your head around for a bit will you!?"

Hearing Lucas, Fawkes who was driving the wyvern, looked back in confusion.

"? What's that?"

"Ohh, Is that a miniature me?"

"? A mirror? But I'm small…"

Though many of them asked, Lucas ignored them and pressed his thumb on a red dot on the right side.

Afterwards, a number symbol was displayed in the center.

"All right! Everybody smile!"

Since it was too sudden, everyone followed and smiled followed by some sort of mechanical sound.

"There, now see."

Lucas showed them the display of the picture.

Displayed on the [Cellphone] was none other than a miniaturized version of them.

"Oohh! This is amazing! That's me right!?"

"I see, this [Picture] is a portrait of sorts is it?"

After that, Lucas gave it back to them so they can have fun with it.

They kept taking pictures of everything they see, the clouds, the wyverns, the birds, the horizon.

Soon, Noir joined them and taught Freya and the others about [App Games].

The Arch-bishop especially got hooked with [Angry Birds]. A simple game where you avoid obstacles, yet for some reason, it was oddly addicting.

The Prince's favorite was one called [Tetris]. You stack different shaped blocks and when they form a line, you get points. If the blocks reach all the way to the top, you lose.

For Freya however, she found joy in taking pictures.

Just the simple act of capturing a moment in your life was thrilling enough for her.

In fact, once she discovered the existence of [Gallery], she looked through photos of Lucas.

"Black hair and eyes…so this is his home world…"

There were pictures of him with his friends and other people that she doesn't know about.

"So Lucas actually had friends…"

Though she thought of something rude, she continued to look through the photos.

There was some where Lucas was in front of a cake with candles, some in places that seemed fun to go.

But there was one that intrigued Freya, one picture had a circle with a triangle symbol in the middle of it but it didn't seem that it was supposed to be there.

Driven by curiosity, Freya touched that symbol.

To her surprise, the picture behind suddenly moved.

It was very fast, like Lucas was in some sort of vehicle that made very complicated movements.

She can also hear screaming in the background but it didn't seem to be one that is filled with terror, rather, it was like they were enjoying themselves.

Actually, what she just watched was a video of Lucas riding a rollercoaster but there was no way of her knowing that so she looked at Lucas and was about to ask him.

However, the words didn't come out of Freya.

She just continued to stare at Lucas who seemed to be looking at the horizon slightly smiling.

It was a calm smile, probably the first such smile Freya saw on Lucas.

Without noticing it, she had already started taking pictures of him.

And soon, they reached the cave. And she was no longer scared.

As soon as Freya saw her family, she ran and just hugged them.

They continued like that for a while, until her father broke off and wanted to hear the story.

After telling the story, her father was at a loss on how he should reward Lucas.

Even though Lucas said it was fine, her father still insisted. Of course, Freya as well wanted to repay the favor Lucas did so she didn't complain.

She decided to let them discuss on their own.

Right now, she just wanted to hug her step-mother and step-little sister.

After a while, suddenly, Freya noticed Lucas walking towards them so she broke off.

Never in her dreams did she think what Lucas would do next.

"Freya, the other end of the ring. Will you wear it?"

"Fue!?"

Suddenly being presented by a ring, Freya let out a weird sound and blushed.

"C-calm down me! This is Lucas, he probably has something else in mind! This is the [Ring of Connection] right? Then he probably only wants to use my skills!"

Freya continued to convince herself from thinking that this was not a proposal.

"That's right! With this, I can return the favor for helping me!"

But as expected, she was still embarra.s.sed about it.

"I-if you're alright with me…I don't mind."

Just after he handed over one ring and was about to wear the other one himself, Freya's father intersected.

"Stop! That's no good Lucas, not good at all!"

"Huh?"

"You can't just hand it over like that! You have to be the one that places it to her finger! Tell him Master Arch-bishop!"

"That's right Lucas, there are proper procedures for this to work."

Well, none of this entered Freya's brain though.

She was still figuring out herself whether she should wear the ring after all.

"Uuuu…I accepted but…can I really wear this? Don't we look like a couple now if we wear matching rings!? What am I going to do if I can't stop thinking about him whenever I see this ring!?"

But soon, that trail of thought was forcefully stopped by Lucas who suddenly kneeled in front of her.

"Freya, I entrust my everything to you."

Right after that, he inserted the ring he was holding to Freya's left ring finger.

"Eh? EH!? EEEHHHHH!!!??? W-wha-…was there any need for that!? Wait, is he actually proposing!? Eh!? He placed it in my left ring finger! And what's with that cheesy line!?"

Now, Freya's face turned beet red.

Her mind was now dizzy due to what had just happened so suddenly.

"I-I as well…entrust my everything to you…"

Unknowingly, she had already answered him and even inserted the ring to Lucas' left ring finger.

Her own body and mind was now too confused which made her do actions the same as Lucas.

"Next! A blood contract!"

"F-father!?"

Now her father wants a blood contract!?

"A-at least let me sink in what just happened!!!"

However, Lucas had already dropped his blood on one of the contract fields and handed it over to Freya.

"It's fine if you don't want to. Like I thought, you wouldn't want to be a slave again right? Well…this one is a familiar so I guess it's different?"

After hearing him say that, Freya was able to calm herself down to some degree.

"Even after all that…you're still worrying about that?"

So she shook her head.

"No, I'm fine. I will be your familiar! With this, I can repay everything that I owe you for helping me!"

And so began their Master-Familiar relationship.

"Uuuu, no fair elder sister…I want to Sir Lucas to also give me a ring and be my master!!!"

"Li-Lilith!?"

Freya was surprised to hear that from her little sister's mouth.

"Just what did you do when you were here Lucas!?"

Unknowingly, a new emotion sparked from within Freya's heart.

"Now then…I still have 4 hours to spare in real life before we continue our talk…guess it's too late to go to school…"

Lucas sighed as he exits his room to eat lunch.

After eating a simple meal, he decided to call Trask.

"h.e.l.lo? Is this Sir Trask?"

[[Yes Lucas, congratulations again for completing the quest.]]

Lucas seemed to have heard clapping sounds on the other end of the phone.

"…Am I on speakerphone again?"

[[Ah, no no. You're not. So, I'm guessing the reason for your call is about the interview?]]

"Ah, yes. Sorry, as I thought, I won't go."

[[Well, I kinda knew you would say that. But can you tell me the reason?]]

"Ah, the rewards giving had just ended, however, there are still a few things to discuss so…I'll be logging back in about 3 hours again."

Though actually it was 4 hours, but Lucas decided to log in early anyways. There was actually something he wanted to ask Denneth.

He didn't ask before since it didn't seem to be the right time.

"Speaking of which, that guy...though I initiated on replacing him with his revenge...I still got a quest...Does that mean that he was planning on that the whole time?"

[[Rewards…do you mind if you tell us about it?]]

"Hmm…I wonder about that?...Just kidding. Why did I suddenly feel a chill? Well, before that, is this going to be another movie?"

Lucas eyes turned into money when he asked. After all, making another movie means more money for him.

"And I still haven't got my payment from before…guess I'll swing by tomorrow after school."

[[Yes, if you wouldn't mind. Please send us the video so we can edit it.]]

"Alright, I might visit tomorrow after school. For the payment of the previous movie and the contract of the new one. Though I guess this time, you can tell my in game name…well, not like it was any different than in my real one but they don't know that. Also, I will only send you up to the Arch-bishop's and Prince's reward."

Since the rest of the world seemed to already know of the name [Lucas], hiding will be pointless…now, the problem is the people close to him.

They will definitely know that it was him.

"Haah…not like I can do anything about it…I'll just feign ignorance. This is all because of that Arch-bishop…"

[[The rewards, is it fine to tell us now? Frankly, these guys are dying to know about it and won't stay quiet.]]

Though in truth, the office was quiet and that Trask himself is the one who wanted to know immediately.

"Hm? I think you can view at least one of my rewards in my status though?"

[[? What do you mea-…Ms. Bristow, can you show me Lucas' status?]]

[[Right away sir. There's really no changes thou-…oh my G.o.d.]]

[[W-what is it? Quickly! Show it to me!]]

Lucas smiled wryly at their exchange.

Though Lilianne's voice was not clear for Lucas to hear, he was still able to more or less guess the situation.

[[M-Marquis!? Not just that, you were given a land! And it's Watervliet!]]

"Yeah well…at least I was not made into a King."

[[You'll still rule a city though, are you fine with that?]]

"He said I'm more of a mascot, he has a trustworthy person act as my Reagent or something, kinda like an a.s.sistant. Anyways, what I got from the Arch-bishop is an item called [Arch-bishop's Bracelet] which is like a VIP pa.s.s of sorts."

[[Those are quite the rewards…and when you said that you'll only reveal theirs…does that mean you still have more rewards?]]

"Yeah, from Sebastian. I won't be telling you guys though. Haha, it would be bad if I didn't have a hidden ace up my sleeve."

[[…d.a.m.n you, now I'm more curious.]]

"Well, we have our own secrets right? I'm sure you have plenty of your own as well."

Lucas revealed a grin as if he knows something…well, he definitely knows he's hiding something from Lucas, but he has no idea what it is.

[[True…well, in any case. You have brought upon a huge change in WGO, no, in [Horus]. To think you'll reveal something like that…]]

"Well, it's fine right? There's no rule saying we shouldn't tell them that we're from a different world."

After a few more talks, Lucas hung up the phone and went to the next course of action.

Turning the TV on, he saw the local news showing the rally of the Anti-virtual reality faction.

They argue that the virtual world may cause more bad than good.

Like that people may get used to killing or getting hit. Maybe even trying out sword skills in real life.

Those kinds of things.

And in the news showing, his own mother was at the very front of the rally group.

"…She definitely should not know…"

As he said that, he turned off the TV and went out.

"Hmm…should I try buying some sweets and store them in the inventory? I bet those guys would like them."

"…Hey, what do you guys think?"

"Lucas is absent right? He rarely does that…"

"So it really is him?"

"No doubt about it."

Gavin, Kanin and a few of Lucas' friends were discussing amongst themselves as they watch the TV in the Student Lounge.

Displaying there, is the news about the events happening in [Drachedge].

"So Lucas actually plays WGO…and to think he's the [White Haired Adventurer]…no wonder he has those VIP tickets from before."

Gavin sighed.

He cannot believe his own friend lied to him like that.

"Why did he not tell us though?"

"Is he making fun of us?"

"Or does he want to hog all the glory?"

"Maybe it's not really him? I mean, who names their character their real name?"

"You're one to talk Kanin, you basically translated your name into English, [Rice]."

They no longer know what to think of Lucas because of this.

Each of them had different opinions on the matter and could not make heads or tails on it.

"No way around it. Let's just ask him tomorrow."

"I guess…"

Lucas logged in once more after 3 hours in real time went by.

After logging in, he immediately looked for Denneth.

"Ah, there you are Denneth."

"Hm? You looking for me boy?"

Denneth was still in his human form when he saw him again.

Around him was Sebastian, the Prince, and the Arch-bishop.

"Yeah, there's something I want to ask."

"Speak."

"Warren, you here?"

["…Oh, I thought you've forgotten about me"]

Upon his call, the shadow swelled up and Warren materialized.

"W-whatever may you be talking about?"

["…So you did forget…"]

Well, there was a lot that happened and Warren himself already has a thin presence so he naturally forgot about him.

"Oh? What sort of being is this? It's the first time I've ever saw something like you."

"?"

"I as well, boy, what is this creature you brought with you?"

So it would seem that the Arch-bishop and Denneth can see Warren. Though the Prince can't and was confused as to what is happening.

"So I'm right…"

["My name is Warren Black of the Phantom race. I've been sealed in the ruins not far from here and it was Lucas that freed me. With nowhere else to go, Lucas offered me to join his journey."]

"He actually helped Noir when he was searching for the Prince and also did recon when I was infiltrating the castle."

Lucas added.

"Phantom you say?...Did such a race exist?"

"Hmm…this one has no recollection of such race as well."

The Arch-bishop and Denneth seemed confused when they heard of the Phantom race.

This was the reason why Lucas wanted to find Denneth.

He searched for the Phantom race in the website before, but there was no such thing.

So he wanted to make sure of it.

["Please don't joke around esteemed masters. We are beings of shadow, we live only in the dark places of the world. Such is a Phantom."]

"No, no. I'm not joking. This is the first I've heard of the Phantom race."

The Arch-bishop shook his head clearly not knowing anything.

["? Then Sir Dragon must've heard of it right? Dragons are known for their intelligence after all."]

"Sorry kid, first I've heard of it as well. If you ask me, that race doesn't exist."

Clearly denying Warren, the cave was filled with silence for a while.

["H-hahaha…I see, Lucas told me about it. You were brainwashed for quite a while right? Then you must've not learned of our race in that state. That's why you didn't know about us."]

"Kid, us [Great Dragons] are the first beings created in this world by an Almighty Being 1 million years ago. We know everything there is to know in this world. Including how many race the Almighty Being wished to create. That has long been decided, long before I was brainwashed. And there is no way that there is someone, or something, out there that can create a new species. Even half-breeds are already within the Almighty Being's calculations. We are the guardians of this world. Therefore we were made to know all the races."

"…It's the first I've heard of this world's beginning, so it was like that…"

For the world to start 1 million years ago…so Denneth's real age is 1 million plus!?

"Hm? But Lvl 300 for 1 million years?"

Suddenly being doubtful, Lucas tried to ask.

"Denneth…what was your level again?"

"Hm? A little over 700? Why?"

"S-seven hundred!? Wasn't it just 300 before!?"

"Bah, the demi-vampire was restricting my heart so of course I won't be the same. It was really annoying to fight back at lvl 300 you know?"

"I-it's a good thing we're not enemies…"

Lucas felt grateful from the bottom of his heart that they were not enemies. If they were, there is no way Lucas would be able to win.

["B-but that's…impossible…then what am I? What are these memories within me!?"]

Warren collapsed on his knees and was holding his head with both arms visibly shaking.

"What do you mean by memories?"

["…Actually I…didn't know how I came into being…it just started one day, I suddenly became aware of myself. In my mind, I know what I am. A Phantom. I know my name, and other basic knowledge…I never thought who my parents were…I don't know why I was alone in that ruin…I don't know why there's a barrier sealing me…I don't know…I don't know…I don't…I…"]

Warren was slowly breaking.

It's only natural, for everything you believed in to suddenly break apart.

He no longer knows what's true and what's false.

Though he knew that Denneth is somehow right, somewhere in him believes he is wrong as well and Warren was stuck by these two forces.

"…Then, is this a form of curse?"

No longer standing seeing Warren like that, Lucas asked Denneth.

"It's possible…however, I do not know of such curse that caused this...the thing about magic is that it is omnipotent…with the right studies, you can do anything so not even us [Great Dragons] know the full extent of magic."

Hearing the word curse, Warren's shaking stopped.

["So you're saying…someone did this to me?...Then how about my family…are they cursed as well?"]

"It is possible that someone indeed caused this, as to who or why, I have no idea. As for your family…you're the only one who knows the answer."

["I see…"]

Warren was in deep thought.

Just by looking at him, Lucas can guess that he wanted to roam around the world to find for answers.

But if he does that, he will be alone again.

"That's that. Warren, are you still willing to accompany me to travel around the world?"

So Lucas gave him an opportunity.

And opportunity to find for clues without being alone.

"Should we start at the ruins I found you first? There may be clues left behind."

["Lucas…"]

This time, Lucas didn't intend to hide the fact that he wanted to help.

["Geez…you never know how to mind your own business do you?"]

"What was that!? I'm offering you my help here you know!?"

Soon, the atmosphere changed back to being lively again.

After a few hours, dinner came and the whole village celebrated.

Female pure-bloods sang, male pure-bloods did stunts, everywhere was lively with the songs and cheers of the pure-blooded vampires.

It came to the point where Fawkes was challenged into a drinking compet.i.tion by Sebastian and was starting a tantrum.

"Lucas! What kind of swordsmanship was that before!? It has no elegance at all! There are no styles and every swing is predictable! It's trash! Trash you hear!? How dare you call yourself a swordsman! Come here and I'll polish you up real good!"

And so began Lucas' harsh training.

He was made to swing his sword for 100 times, run around the cave 100 times while swinging the sword, and a couple more. Though since Fawkes was drunk and could not count properly, the actual amount was over 500 times.

"Good, we're done."

Because of that, [Sword Mastery] was able to reach Intermediate Lvl 2 [Warrior's Presence] into Beginner Lvl 5, [Dominant Arm Mastery] to Beginner Lvl 8, [Weak Arm Mastery] to Beginner Lvl 3, [Two-hand Mastery] to Beginner Lvl 2.

[Dragon Eyes] has also reached Intermediate level and now, aside from farsight and night vision, he also gained thermal vision.

STR and SPD upped by 5 as well.

"I forgot stats can also increase like this…should I try training when I'm free?"

Though he said that, unlike in the training room, he's seriously tired right now and was lying on the ground with his limbs stretched out.

"Huh? What are you resting there for!? Stand up! We're not even starting yet!"

"You just said we're finished!!!???"

To think that Fawkes would immediately forgot everything that happened earlier because he was so drunk…Lucas wanted to log-out so badly.

"Ughh…that d.a.m.n birdy…"

In the end, they repeated it 2, 3 times until Fawkes finally collapsed.

Since it was already night time in the game world, everybody went to sleep and so did he.

Though as players, sleeping isn't really a practice for them since their real body is resting while they're playing so they hunt day in, day out.

However, Lucas' game character is already worn out and a message displayed saying that he won't be able to move his body for 12 hours due to over fatigue.

"Hm? I feel like I forgot something…bah, I'll remember it somehow…I'm too tired to think right now…"

Reluctantly, Lucas also slept in a house that he was allowed to borrow.

The next day, even though the system said he can move after 12 hours, his muscles still ache and he can barely move.

It seems that the Prince wanted Lucas to visit [Watervliet] today but since Lucas was still in that condition, he told him to visit when he's able move properly instead.

At noon, the Prince, the Arch-bishop, Noir and Fawkes went back to [Drachedge] as there are still things to do.

As there was nothing to do with his body like this, Lucas decided to let his character body rest and spend his time in the real world.

"Ughh…finally, I can move without my muscles aching…"

Though he said that, it was now currently 1:00 AM and in 6 hours, he has to attend college.

"I can't be absent anymore…"

After wasting 6 hours on reading mangas and light novels, watching anime and movies, and after eating breakfast and preparing for school, Lucas went out.

Cla.s.ses went by without any problems, however, after school, there stood the last boss!

"M-mom…is there something wrong?"

That's right, Lucas' mother was at the lobby on the first floor clearly waiting for him.

"Luke, you tell me. Your professor contacted me asking if there is something wrong for you to be absent for all of your cla.s.ses yesterday so I became worried and decided to stop by your condo this morning. But since you seem to have already gone to school, there was no one there so I let myself in and did you know what I found?"

Luke, Lucas' nickname that only his family calls him by.

Though Lucas probably knows, he still asked.

"W-what is it?"

Upon being asked, his mother took out a familiar looking visor. The [Portal].

"Tell me, was this the reason you were absent yesterday? Thank G.o.d I asked your teacher to contact me when you miss even one cla.s.s. I heard you miss one before as well but I let it pa.s.s since the other teachers didn't call so there may have been a problem but was this also the reason why you missed that cla.s.s?"

"U-ughhh…"

Lucas, the man who fearlessly fought a dragon, killed a Black Hand a.s.sa.s.sin, a Marquis, and a world renowned character, was now shrinking back as he listen to his mother's nagging.

He was forbidden for any kind of entertainment like this.

The only way he was able to keep it a secret for so long was to keep it a secret even to his friends and at the same time, perform well in cla.s.s.

"Well?"

"Y-yes…I was playing…"

"Y-you-!"

Lucas shut his eyes tight and prepared himself to be slapped, however, it didn't come.

More like, an explosion was heard from above.

*ririririririririririiiiing*

The fire alarm went off and the sprinklers came to life drenching everyone in water.

"W-wha!? What's happening?"

"A fire!?"

"Was that an explosion!?"

"Huh? Did someone bring a bomb!?"

"Yeah it's the end of the world!!!"

Around them, all sorts of noises were heard and some even rejoiced for some reason…well, there are those kinds of idiots.

"Wh-wha…Lucas, quickly! Let's evacuate!"

As if the previous fight never happened, his mother grabbed his hand and was about to pull him out when Lucas suddenly heard a student screaming as she came down the third floor.

Lucas knows she came from the third floor since there's a different staircase to reach the second floor and the door to the second floor from the staircase where she came out was only teachers or staffs are allowed to enter.

"R-run away! There's a psychopath spewing flames from his hands!!!"

After hearing that, Lucas let go of his mother's hands and quickly asked the student.

"What do you mean by flames coming out from his hands?"

"I meant literally! He was wearing weird clothes as well!"

"L-Luke!? What are you doing!? We need to go to safety right now!"

But Lucas didn't listen and ran upstairs.

"L-Luke!? That's not the way out! Hey! You hear me!?"

Like that, his mother also followed him.

When they came to the third floor, it no longer was the same as Lucas knows it.

Everywhere is engulfed in fire and students were scrambling about, no idea how to get out.

In the middle of all that, a lone person with red hair, wearing a robe, was stretching his arms where fire came out.

"…A player…"

As if the red haired person heard that, he turned around and saw Lucas.

"Haha! Someone finally noticed!Ha-haha-hahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! BUUURNN!!!"

Directing the flame towards them, Lucas grabbed his mother and threw themselves to the right to dodge.

"HAHAHAHA!!! THAT'S RIGHT! FEAR! FEAR MEE!!! ALL OF YOU! STUDENTS! TEACHERS! THIS d.a.m.n SCHOOL! EVERYTHING SHOULD JUST BUUUUURRRNN!!!!!"

This guy probably stacked up stress too much that he became a homicidal maniac.

As expected, there was a golden key hanging from his neck.

Though Lucas doesn't know how he was able to get a [World Key], he has no choice but to fight him since he doubts that the police can handle him nor will there be another person who a [World Key] nearby.

The problem is the other students and his mother.

Lucas isn't sure whether he can protect them at the same time fight him.

"W-what on earth is that!? L-Luke, let's quickly get out of here. I'm sure the police can handle this monster. Now, let's stop playing hero and quickly get out."

"Despite how annoying she is when she nags…she's still my mother and still cares for me…"

Lucas sighed and stood up.

"G-good! Now, let's get ou-"

"Sorry mom, but the police cannot defeat this guy. That robe is a rare equipment that has a high speed enhancement and beneath it is an armor that also has high defense enhancement, normal bullets wouldn't be enough. And even if it does. .h.i.t, his HP won't drop that much."

"W-what are you talking about!? This isn't a game! Now, let's-"

Lucas let go of her hand and held the key necklace that is hidden inside his shirt.

"Sorry, but please listen to me just this once."

"W-what are you…"

"[Character Fusion!]"

As light surrounded him and vanished, where Lucas stood, a familiar white haired, red eyes character was seen instead.

"Let's hope this works. [Summon Freya]!"

A blood red magic circle formed in front of him and there, the silver haired vampire emerged.

"E-ehh? Ah, I was summoned? It's the first time I felt this…hm? The whole place is burning!?"

"Freya!"

"Y-yes!?"

"Protect my mother and the other students! I'll handle the flaming guy over there!"

"A-ah yes! Hm?...So this is your world? Ah! Sorry, I'll be right on it!"

Freya was too relaxed…

While sighing inwardly, Lucas moved towards the other key holder.

"What's this? So there was another person who has a [World Key]? AND IT JUST HAS TO BE YOU! YOU'RE ALREADY POPULAR ENOUGH SO DON'T GO STEALING MY FAAAAAMMEEE!!!!!"

Since he seemed to have already killed a few people, his name was displayed red above him.

"Brandon huh? If I were you, I'll stop this madness right now. If I kill you here, your [World Key] would definitely drop, you know that right?"

"Huh!? The f.u.c.k are you saying!? It's your key that will drop! AND I'LL DEFINITELY GET FAMOUS FOR KILLING THE WHITE HAIRED ADVENTURER!!!!"

"Looks like there's no reasoning with this guy…fine, if it's a fight he wants, a fight he will get."

Lucas brandished his sword and swung it towards Brandon.

Though he can win easily if he had activated [Dragon's Wrath], he was still afraid that he will lose his mind and attack other people as well.

If that happens, then stopping him would be harder.

"[Fire Wall]!"

"[Freeze]!"

When a wall of fire emerged, Lucas countered it with Freya's [Freeze] magic and shattered it with his sword.

"K-kh, [Flame Shot!]"

"[Reversal]!"

A ball bigger and stronger than [Fire Ball] emerged from Brandon's hands only to be brought back to him using [Reversal].

"Freya's magics are really handy…and I don't even have to waste Skill Points for them! Free is the best!"

When the fire reached Brandon, it dispersed as if he did receive any damage.

"H-hah! Though I'm surprised you knew magic, fire attacks won't hurt me! And your ice magic will only melt with my flames! [Fire Pillar]!"

"So that robe also has Fire defense enhancement!? And those rings look like they will fetch for a high price as well!"

Lucas didn't even see Brandon as an opponent anymore and only wanted his items even though now he is surrounded by fire.

"H-huh? Why does this feel warmer than normal? Whatever, [Water Pillar]!"

"W-water magic as well!?"

"[Tornado]! [Wind Cutter]!"

Lucas used the same combination magic that the demi-vampire used before.

"W-wind magic!? I-it hurts! Why does it hurt!?"

"…So the pain control is removed since we're not in game? Is that why I felt the heat from the fire to be stronger?"

"D-d.a.m.n! [Blink]!"

Brandon teleported a few steps away from the tornado.

"A Scout cla.s.s skill!"

"[Blink]! [a.s.sa.s.sinate]!"

Brandon teleported to Lucas' back and activated another skill as he lunged his knife on his back.

"[Reversal]!"

As soon as the knife was deflected, Lucas kicked Brandon's knee and turned to slash him.

"[Dragon's Roar]!"

To stop him from moving, Lucas shouted and Brandon flinched in fear.

"It's over!"

Finally having the chance, Lucas swung his blade on Brandon's neck completely decapitating him.

Though he probably has high defense or HP, as long as Lucas strikes on the right spot, those are nothing.

Besides, Lucas' current stats are like that of a Lvl 100+ player due to only picking a job when he's Lvl 100+ Novice.

Brandon disappeared into white smoke and the items he dropped were the [World Key], his robe, and 2 rings.

Due to being a red player, he dropped more than normal.

Lucas looked around to see whether everything's ok.

Most of the fire has already been extinguished by Freya and the students are also safe. His mother too.

"Lucas!"

"Oh, you did well Freya!"

Freya immediately came to him as soon as the fight is over and Lucas praised him.

Then he saw his mother.

"L-Luke you…no, you saved us. Thank you."

Surprised by the sudden hug, Lucas became embarra.s.sed since Freya and the other students are also watching.

"I-it's fine already mom, anyway, I'm sorry that I skipped cla.s.ses yesterday. During that time, I was…well, busy saving her so..."

"Her? Oh you mean Freya? Fufufu, I see…then there's no helping it, looks like you've grown already while we aren't looking. Be sure to treat her well you hear?"

"E-eh? Uh, sure?"

Not sure what his mother meant, Lucas just nodded.

Beside him was Freya covering her face that was tinged with red obviously embarra.s.sed.

On her left hand clearly displayed the same ring Lucas now wore.
