The big fish that took the bait

“I’ve seriously read each word that kid Xu Yi wrote in that article and I could understand what each word meant, but the meaning of the article itself, I couldn’t understand it no matter how I looked at it.”

Arch Magus Ofalian raised his hand to stop Arch Magus Laduca from talking.

“But even if I can’t understand it, I know in my heart that what the article was talking about is very logical and wasn’t something thoughtless that kid Xu Yi came up with. In light of the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s achievements over the years, I must admit that what that kid Xu Yi said to us before makes a bit of sense.”

“What Xu Yi said before?” Arch Magus Laduca was surprised before remembering that when Xu Yi fought with the two of them, he had said that their magic theories had fallen behind.

Arch Magus Laduca didn’t feel that way and Arch Magus Ofalian had snorted with contempt.

However, in less than half a year, Arch Magus Ofalian’s att.i.tude had changed. Not only did he take the initiative to study the new magic theory that Xu Yi mentioned which he had looked down on, he had even acknowledged that his magic theory had fallen behind.

“Then you mean……” Arch Magus Laduca looked at Arch Magus Ofalian with a doubtful gaze.

Arch Magus Laduca had always worked with the Candra Empire army headquarters, listening to their orders most of the time.

When the news of the Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards invading the Candra Empire and capturing Mero City reached the headquarters, it immediately created a stir.

The army headquarters attached great importance to this. Not only did they send the most elite magician squad, they had even asked Arch Magus Laduca to personally act immediately.

Arch Magus Ofalian was different from Arch Magus Laduca. He had worked with Arch Magus Laduca to deal with Xu Yi before all because he wanted to give Marshal Sudman face.

When the army headquarters wanted Arch Magus Laduca to fight the Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards, it was unknown where he received this information, but he took the initiative to join the battle.

Naturally the army headquarters couldn’t ask for more, so they had the two of them come together as the core of this magician squad.

However, as soon as they made contact with the Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards, Arch Magus Ofalian had said these words that hurt their own morale and raised the might of the enemy. This really was something that Arch Magus Laduca didn’t expect.

“Don’t misunderstand. I was just feeling emotional, there’s no other meaning.” Arch Magus Ofalian let out a sigh as his face became calm, “What we need to do right now is simple, we just need to take care of those fellows from the Frestech Chamber of Commerce. It’s best if we can capture some of those Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards alive while also seizing some military magic machines to study, this would be very helpful to us.”

“Un, the headquarters had the same idea.” Arch Magus Laduca gave a nod, “In the last fight against the Rudson Kingdom, the difference in performance between the empire’s Magic Cannons and other military magic machines and the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s military magic machines were clear. The headquarters isn’t happy with this, so they need some of the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s newest military magic machines to study.”

Arch Magus Ofalian suddenly gave a laugh, “Laduca, if you read the «Frestech Magic Machine Weekly», you wouldn’t be saying this. That kid Xu Yi said several years ago that military magic machines aren’t that simple to imitate, it’s related to the entire magic machine industry. Without a good enough technological base, it’s impossible to make military magic machines that can contend with the ones from the Frestech Chamber of Commerce.”

Arch Magus Laduca knitted his brows to look at Arch Magus Ofalian.

“Ofalian, why do I feel…..that you are more and more on the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s side?”

“I’m only on the side of logic.” Arch Magus Ofalian softly replied, “Of course, this doesn’t hinder me as one of the Candra Empire’s citizens. Alright, stop wasting words, let’s go. Based on the current situation, the normal magicians won’t be of any use, so how about we bring along some Great Magicians first?”

“Un, I had the same idea.” Arch Magus Laduca nodded in agreement before picking some people out.

Arch Magus Laduca was one of the Candra Empire’s nine Arch Magi and was the commander of the headquarter’s magician squad, so he had a very high place in the hearts of the magicians of the squad.

With his order, thirteen Great Magicians were picked out to form a small squad with him and Arch Magus Ofalian that flew off towards Mero City.

The rest of the magicians were left behind by them. After they retreated a bit, they grouped up with the reinforcement army.

The small squad with the two Arch Magi and the thirteen Great Magicians quickly caught the attention of the Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards.

As soon as they flew out, there were several dozen light blue beams of light that came from Mero City’s city walls.

However this time, the rippling light blue light that came from the explosion of these beams didn’t affect the fifteen magicians that much. They still maintained the same speed as they headed towards Mero City.

“It seems like we finally caught some big fish.” Chief Hart on the wall revealed a faint smile, “Noons, send down the order. We’re moving on to the second plan.”

“Yes.”

There were countless weak sparkles that came from Mero City that filled the sky like stars, looking quite beautiful.

However, when Arch Magus Ofalian and Arch Magus Laduca saw these, they instantly became wary.

They had seen these sparkles when they fought Xu Yi before.

Xu Yi had released these sparkles from those strange shaped magic parts to create a strange magic domain. Not only had he been able to escape from the two of them working together, he had even penetrated through the Magic Domain Sealing Array of Wimbledon City. It really had a strange effect.

When Arch Magus Laduca had chased the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s Magic Airship squad, he had encountered something similar.

But those Magic Airships had used these things to stop him from releasing Forbidden Spells.

Although they had also escaped, the principle behind this was very different.

Now that the Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards in Mero City also released these things, what would they be used for?

“Everyone be careful, prepare to react at any time.”

Arch Magus Laduca had just warned the thirteen Great Magicians beside him when he saw the two Great Magicians at the very front slam into something before being sent flying back.

The other Great Magicians behind them made their move and helped the two of them stabilize themselves. They looked forward in a daze and saw that there were faint lights that were glowing in front of them.

Arch Magus Ofalian and Arch Magus Laduca looked at each other with stunned looks.

This was clearly the exact same phenomenon as the Magic Domain Sealing Array around Wimbledon City!

“It can’t be that kid Xu Yi has already learned the principle behind the Magic Domain Sealing Array after seeing it once and now he can even copy it?” Arch Magus Ofalian’s eyes couldn’t help popping out as he said this.

“That is impossible!” Arch Magus Laduca immediately shook his head to deny this guess, “The Magic Domain Sealing Array around Wimbledon City was carefully built by many Arch Magi over several hundred years. Even if Xu Yi is talented enough to understand the principle, it isn’t that easy to imitate it and it’s impossible to lay it down outside Mero City in such a short period of time.”

“Un…..that’s right.”

Arch Magus Ofalian thought about it before flying forward and releasing a wisp of magic power to test it. As expected, the feeling of the change in the magic s.p.a.ce in front of him was a very similar feeling to the one that the Magic Domain Sealing Array in Wimbledon City gave him.

After thinking about it, he wildly released his magic power and activated his unique magic domain, attacking the magic s.p.a.ce in front of him.

When his magic domain touched this strange magic s.p.a.ce, the magic s.p.a.ce in front of him was like a pot of boiling oil that had water splashed over it, causing the elemental magic energy to become even wilder.

Arch Magus Ofalian was caught off guard and almost lost the control of his magic from this wild elemental magic energy.

It was a good thing that he had very precise control of his magic and once he felt that something was off, he immediately pulled back his magic power.

Arch Magus Laduca and the other thirteen Great Magicians weren’t normal people. Naturally they could feel the strangeness with the magic s.p.a.ce in front of them and their expressions changed.

A casual move from the Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards could create such terrifying changes in the magic s.p.a.ce, it was something that far exceeded their expectations.

“What do we do now?” The thirteen Great Magicians all turned to Arch Magus Laduca.

Arch Magus Laduca didn’t say a thing, he just raised his head to release his magic power and investigate all around him.

After a while, with him as a core, his magic power had already gone two kilometers away from him.

The investigation showed that there were no problems with the other directions, there was just this strange magic s.p.a.ce that was in an arc in front of them, covering all of Mero City. It was clearly to stop them from approaching Mero City.

“There’s no other way for now. Everyone, use all your power and attack this strange magic barrier.” Arch Magus Laduca thought about it before saying, “As long as we break this barrier, I don’t believe that Frestech Chamber of Commerce guards in Mero City will have a way to stop us.”

“Alright.”

The Great Magicians all agreed.

When they were about to make a move, a Great Magician suddenly pointed to the air to the right in front of them.

Everyone looked up and saw that in the southern skies of Mero City, there was a cloud made of several dozen Magic Airships that was flying towards them.

When everyone’s eyes had just fallen on these Magic Airships, there were countless dazzling milky white lights that came from the Magic Airships, instantly appearing in front of them.

Feeling the terrifying power contained in these lights, not only the thirteen Great Magicians, even Arch Magus Laduca and Arch Magus Ofalian’s expressions had changed.
