She was much more concerned with the fact her two friends were at loggerheads with each other. She could not ever remember a time when Lowks and Tira had ever actually been like this towards each other.
Vixen looked between the two who were not riding anywhere near each other, and even pointedly ignoring each other. She hated seeing this.
With a bit of trepidation, she moved to ride beside of Lowks, "Hey…"
Her half-elf friend looked at her, his eyes kinda just blank. "Did you need something, Vix?"
"Not really, I just thought you could use someone to talk to."
"I'm fine." He looked forward, ignoring her. Vixen felt annoyance sweep through her.
She lifted her head up, a trifle haughtily, "Of course you are. You're just not talking with your sister, who you've always doted on something awful."
"She shouldn't have badgered you to marry me." His words were flat. "It would be one thing if she actually thought we had… but she knows we are innocent."
"Oh, come on, you know she was joking right? She wouldn't really ruin her brother's reputation." Vixen rolled her eyes, "If you thought about it enough you would realize that, surely. Just calm down. Tira was just messing with us."
"…" He frowned, "She wasn't. Well. I'm sure we could talk sense into her, but she was dead serious when she said it. I know my sister. Don't worry, though. You won't actually have to marry me."
Vixen patted his arm, "So don't be mad at your sister, okay? She's just worried about you. She wants to see her brother married off."
"Oh, sure." He was still frowning, "She can tease me about getting married, that's fine. But she should not have pulled you into it."
"I don't mind." Vixen shrugged. "I wouldn't really mind marrying you. You're a pretty good guy."
"…" For a moment he said absolutely nothing, then in an absolutely confused voice, "What does that mean?"
"I do want to get married. And we usually get along. Would it be so bad marrying me?"
She enjoyed the almost stunned look on his face. Then he laughed, shaking his head, "I don't know. I would hardly want to marry a flirt."
"I haven't flirted with anyone in a while." She replied in her smuggest tone of voice, "Besides give me a bit of credit. I would totally drop it after marriage. It was an amusing game, but I'm done with it."
"Are you actually trying to talk me into marrying you?" There was laughter in his voice, and not a small amount of disbelief.
"I could do far worse than a guy like you. Not sure I could really do better either."
"At least I know how to handle you, at least usually." He then pressed his lips together, "How about this, we compromise with Tira. I'll court you, and even try to be open to the idea of marrying you, but she has to give us time to get used to the idea. And we get to choose when we are ready or if it just won't work."
Vixen agreed readily to his idea. It was a perfectly rational idea. And it was better than nothing really.
"So bury the hatchet with her, already."
"Fine."
When they approached Tira, she glanced over and seemed pleased to see them together. When Lowks opened his mouth she frowned a little. But she seemed to realize he was thinking fairly sensibly. "Alright. If you can promise to seriously think about marriage. Not just trying to fool me, okay?"
Lowks breathed a sigh of relief and then hugged his sister in a show of relief over no longer actually fighting with her. Vixen hugged both of them, happy to see them make up. She hated seeing these two rocks of her existence fighting each other.
