She's My Girl 34 Chapter The Dinner Date

Carah was getting ready for the hearing of the case of Josh. Today Zyrine will testify .she was against it but the defense insist on this. It would be a difficult day for Zyrine. When she went out of her office. she received a call from Zander asking her if she's free the next day. He asked to have dinner with him to discuss important matters.

"What for?,,, hmmm I think I am, but I have to check my schedule, but right nowI'm going to the hall of justice for the trial,"

"Can I witness the trial?" He asked

"Sure! no problem, see you there." why does he have to asked me Josh is his cousin he had to be present to show some support. she was baffled by his inquiry.

They are already waited for half an hour for the hearing to resume but defense didn't show up and the judge decided to postpone. Carah made calls to inquire for the whereabouts of the opposing party, and was told that the accuse gone missing an so was his lawyer.

This made Carah wondered what is happening, the speculations were riding high that the prosecution has something to do with it, this made Carah p.i.s.sed off, just what are they playing right now?

She asked Zander where is his cousin gone to?

"I don't know, since the exposé with his father I didn't have the chance to meet any of them. and my legal advisers are getting ready for a lawsuit for uncle Jaime, so I was advise against seeing or contacting any of them."

"Alright, if they failed to show up it's not our fault anymore,

"But the reactions are we are responsible for their disappearance " one of his a.s.sociate said.

"We cannot control the people speculations leave it at that. If we react they will think we are guilty. " Carah said.

The following day news of Josh attempted suicide is burning on the news. He took an overdose of sleeping pills with alcohol, and was believed in coma. Just as the pictures and video of the scandal that led to the breaking up of the marriage of Zander and Carah resurfaced.

Carah contemplated on what is the purpose of all of this?

This is what she was afraid if all along that she hesitated to truly dig in the matter she is worried of the impact it will have on Lexie. She is an intelligent child question will be asked and what ever the answers must satisfy her queries. Is she ready for the emotional side of it?

Until now she believed that her father was working abroad and only calls her once or twice a year. and in special occasions Maya had her friend act as the father of Lexie. Carah never met this person but he kept his word of calling Lexie for the past four years. He sends gifts but never pictures, telling that in his location, communication is very difficult, he has to travel quite a distance to be able to call. Lexie believed in this and accepted the situation.

But if this news of her marriage to Zander will surely confuse of what she already known and accepted.

That night before leaving for her dinner date with Zander. She strictly forbid Lexie to watch television, and ask her mother to monitor her in watching TV programs and avoid watching the news.

When she arrived the venue, she was led to a private room, she got an uneasy feelings that her heart starts beating overtime, and her stomach start to grumble. She got the shocked of her life when she saw the three persons who was staring and waiting for her inside.

"Oopps ! sorry I must be in the wrong room." Then she turn to leave.
