The Story Of Dusk 41 The First Morning

When the first ray of the sun fell on his face, Xiao Jun woke up with headache . He barely remembered what had happened . The last thing that was in his mind was Qianru beautiful eyes under the moonlight .

He looked at the place beside him and it was empty . The coldness told him that his wife had woken up for long . He sat up straight as he put his head between his palms .

Trying to recall the memory of last night, but since Qianru wasn't beside him, it almost like a dream . However, when his eyes caught the crumpled bed linen beside him, a faint smile made its way on his lips .

It wasn't a dream after all .

Last night could be counted as the first night they were sleeping together after two years of their marriage .

Yet, his small smile disappeared and replaced with concern as he wonder; why Qianru wasn't there when he woke up?

He couldn't figure out what was wrong . Thus, he got off of the bed and freshened up .

After he redressed with dark blue robe, Xiao Jun decided to pay a visit to his Master . But, before that he needed to find Qianru first .

He walked along the hallway and asked the first female maidservant that he met about Qianru whereabouts .

She told him that Qianru was in the kitchen, making a breakfast for him . It was clear that even the servant was happy for their mistress because of their relationship ran smoothly .

Recently, there was a rumor among the people, that Xiao Jun had sent her away, because Qianru was still not pregnant after two years of marriage, the rumor was getting wild with the mentioned that Xiao Jun wanted to take a concubine that was a taboo thing for people in Azura .

Xiao Jun knew about this false rumor, people could question why Qianru was still not get pregnant, but if she did pregnant he would be the first person to question her .

With a slight nod Xiao Jun dismissed the maidservant and walked toward the kitchen .

As he near the kitchen, he caught a whiff of delicious food in the air, smiling he opened the kitchen door and walked in .

There were four old female servants who were accompanying Qianru, while his wife laughed lightly to whatever those servants talked to her .

It was quite a sight .

"Can I have a moment with her . " Xiao Jun opened his mouth and startled all of them, especially Qianru who was looking elsewhere except of him .

The four people bowed their head respectfully before excused themselves . After the last person walked out and closed the door, Xiao Jun approached Qianru .

"What are you making?" Xiao Jun stood beside her, appreciating the tinge red that spread on her cheeks .

"Breakfast…" She said, not louder than a whispered .

For a long time, both of them stayed silent .

"Why don't you wait in our room…?" Qianru asked sheepishly, feeling uncomfortable with Xiao Jun's gaze .

"Alright," He agreed, but then he bent slightly and kissed his cheek . "Thank you . " Was all he said before he walked out of the kitchen, leaving Qianru blushed furiously and her heart beating frantically .

This was a rare occasion where Xiao Jun was eating with Qianru harmoniously without someone interrupted their meal .

For Qianru, she was very contented with what she had now, no one between the two of them who started a conversation as they ate their food, but it was a comfortable silence .

It was almost like a silence agreement to not recall the event last night, Qianru also didn't know what to say if Xiao Jun started to talk about it . However, from the looked of his calm expression, Xiao Jun was in good mood now and Qianru was glad for that .

After a silent meal, Xiao Jun dropped his chopstick and said . "My confinement has been revoked . " He started and Qianru dropped her chopstick as well, so she could give him her full attention . "I will visit my master Ye Xiu . "

With that, Qianru's elation depleted . "How long?" She asked dejectedly .

"Three months . " Xiao Jun replied briefly as he looked at her expression closely and Qianru's defeated expression was clear to see .

"It's long time…"

"Yes, but… will you come with me?"
