The Story Of Dusk 269 Still A Little Girl

Gong Xu reached Senja's wrist and checked her pulse, she didn't get any better from before and still not conscious.

"Troublesome." Gong Xu flicked Senja's forehead lightly before he stood up and walked toward the door. Senja would be fine for a couple of hours, but she still needed a doctor.

Gong Xu stepped out from the hut and ordered something to the first person that he found.

"Bring me warm water, towel and clean clothes." He said to a middle age lady, who hurriedly ran the errand for him.

Gong Xu only needed to wait for sometime before the lady comeback with the stuffs that he needed. He took them from her hands and turned around only to see that this hut didn't have door to keep the privacy.

There was only a lousy curtain to prevent someone to see the person inside the room.

Gong Xu frowned and turned toward the lady again. "Don't let anyone come inside."

The lady didn't understand what Gong Xu was trying to imply, but she nodded nonetheless. She stayed right out of the door when the stranger man came inside the hut to look after his sister.

Inside the hut, Gong Xu stood still for awhile as she a.s.sessed Senja's lifeless body on the dilapidated bed. Her dress drenched with sweat and her face flushed red because her fever still high.

With steady steps Gong Xu approached the little girl and without thinking twice he started to undress her.

He did that with impa.s.sive eyes, as if this was nothing.

Of course this was nothing. Senja was still a little girl and he was, at the very least, a doctor himself. He had done the same thing to Luna, his deceased sister, when she was too sick to take care of herself.

After Gong Xu undressed her, he soaked the clean towel into the bowl of water and squeezed it dry before he wiped Senja's body, from her face, neck, down to her flat chest, her arms and legs, cleaned her from dirt and sweat.

After that, he put on clean clothes on her and draped his cloak on her, as he couldn't find a quilt.

"What a troublesome little girl." He said with frown and then cleaned up everything before he stepped out from the hut.

The lady was still dutifully standing outside the door and immediately received the dirt clothes from Gong Xu.

"When the doctor will arrive?" Gong Xu asked while staring at the dark sky. It was almost night again.

"Probably early in the morning sir." The lady said politely. "I will bring your dinner sir."

Money changed everything, before the villagers of this place were very unwelcomed toward Gong Xu and Senja, but now they even offered them a dinner.

"A soft porridge for my sister please." Gong Xu said before the lady left.

"Yes sir."

Senja needed to endure another night.

Gong Xu didn't have a good sleep while taking care of Senja, she kept startled him with a soft whimper or talked incoherently in her sleep.

When he was awake again, the sun had risen and the hut became humid. The first thing that he did was to check on Senja.

Unfortunately her condition didn't change, her fever was still high.

Gong Xu couldn't do anything except to wait for the doctor, because there was no medicine in this abandoned village neither they have the right medicine plant for a simple fever like this.

However, outside of the hut had turned bright and no one came to inform him that the doctor had come.

With frowned, he rearranged Senja's sleeping position and pulled the cloak until her chin before he walked out of the hut.

"Where is the doctor?" He asked coldly to the first person that he could find.

There were not many people in this village, probably it was only over forty inhabitant that dominated by the old people. Hence the news about Gong Xu could easily hear by them, they knew the reason why he stayed there.

"At the very late, the doctor will arrive around noon sir." The old man answered Gong Xu politely.

"Noon?" Gong Xu frowned, didn't happy with the information.

If Senja was left like that for much longer, she would get another illness because of the fever still not broke out yet.

"Prepared cold water for me, please." Gong Xu needed to do something that he could before the doctor arrived.

For now cold water would suffice.

"Yes sir." The old man hurriedly went to complete his task.

Gong Xu went back into the hut and found Senja was awake, she was in groggy state and a little bit at lost while staring blankly at her surroundings.

"How do you feel?" Gong Xu asked softly and sat down beside her. Only when Senja looked at the familiar face, she stopped to wonder her eyes.

"Where are we?" Senja asked in hoa.r.s.e voice, her throat was so dry and felt like she had just eaten sand.

Gong Xu knowingly gave her a cup of water and propped her back so she could sit down and drink her water more comfortably.

"Stranded in abandoned village." Gong Xu informed her casually, but his weird explanation made the little girl laughed before she was coughing hard. "Drink or laugh. Don't do two things in the same time." He slightly reprimanded the silly girl in his embrace.

"My head hurt." She complained when Gong Xu laid her back on the bed.

"You have fever. What do you expect?" He asked her back slightly harsh, but then he put his palm on her forehead and checked her temperature again. "The doctor will come soon." He informed her.

"Hmm." Senja mumbled as response and curled her body, she felt slightly better in this position.

When a comfortable silence descended upon them, someone called out from outside the hut.

"Sir, I bring the cold water." A heavy voice sounded.

Gong Xu stood up and retrieved a bowl of cold water and towel, then said something that Senja wasn't able to hear before he went back inside the hut.

"We need to wipe your body, so your body could slightly cool down." Gong Xu sat back in the same spot like before and was about to undress Senja like what he did when she wasn't conscious.

Senja's eyes widened when she realized what Gong Xu was trying to do. She was only a little girl, but she had never been naked in front of anyone, not even the female maids inside the mansion.

Startling, Senja swatted Gong Xu's hand away and rolled her body further to keep a distance between them. "What are you doing?"

"Help you of course, what else?" Gong Xu frowned, didn't like Senja exaggerated reaction.

"You can't touch me like that, you are a man." Senja glared, but her attempt failed miserably. She was more like a little girl throwing tantrum.

"I am a man and you are a little girl, so stop act like you are a grown up woman." Gong Xu said agitatedly.

What she thought he would do with a little girl who had not even have breast yet?
