The next thing he knew was many people had broken through the entrance gate of the shelter and surrounded w.a.n.g Yu, Leader Mo and their troops.

Ye Xiu s.n.a.t.c.hed the sword in w.a.n.g Yu's hand with his bare hands and twisted it until w.a.n.g Yu was forced to back off, and with his sword, Ye Xiu attacked him viciously like a beast had possessed him.

Everything was in chaos.

The reinforcement for Ye Xiu had come, but nothing that could be saved. Nothing was left from this shelter.

Ye Bai led his group of spy once he heard the shelter was under attack. The only think that he concerned about was his family. However, when he stepped inside, he saw the scene that he was never ever dare to even imagine it.

He approached Su Zhang Li's b.l.o.o.d.y body and his son in her arms. Ye Bai needed a time to comprehend the scenery that he saw. He scrunched his eyebrows and tilted his head in confusion. He was in denial with himself, with his vision and with the sound of clashing words around him.

Ye Bai was oblivious with his surrounding as he stared without blinking at the woman that he cherished the most, to his only son that he would give up everything for him. His chest felt heavy and his head was dizzy.

Slowly he reached out his hand to turn Su Zhang Li's body over, and then he saw that, the wound that cutting her throat and blood all over it. Her white skin had turned paler.

"Zhang Li?" Ye Bai brushed her sticky hair which was wet with her blood and called her again and again.

This was the woman that he would turn very agitated when she slightly got hurt, this was the woman that could make his heart beating frantically when she laughed. She was the woman that made him feel completed in many ways. She was a mother of his son.

But, now she was laid unmoved in his arms. Ye Bai didn't say anything he just kept stroking Su Zhang Li's cheek while the chaos around him turned worse.

Ye Qing was also laid down not too far from his mother. Ye Bai hugged both of them in silent.

On the other side of the battlefield, Leader Mo had been forcing w.a.n.g Yu to retreat. The reinforcement that came was out of their calculation. They knew that Ye Bai was a spy, but they didn't get the information that he had his own troops that ruined their plan.

Ye Bai's group of spies were pract.i.tioners of martial arts with the ability out of ordinary and the troops that w.a.n.g Yu and Leader Mo brought wasn't their opponent.

w.a.n.g Yu still insisted to fight Ye Xiu and disregarded the turn of event as anger overshadowed his rationality.

"I will fight him!" w.a.n.g Yu roared and almost cut Leader Mo's hand which pushed him away.

Not too far, their remaining troops tried to shield him and give the two of them enough time to back away.

"We have to retreat!" Leader Mo shouted sternly.

Finally, w.a.n.g Yu realized that the situation wasn't in their favor and retreated with Leader Mo.

Both of them successful to run away, leaving their troops to be killed by the group of spies that Ye Bai had brought.

Ye Xiu tried to pursue them, but lost their track half way. He cursed and vented his anger to the remaining Golden Arrow Archers. No one from them was able to alive under Ye Xiu's wrath.

In the other hand, his brother, Ye Bai, still oblivious with his surrounding as he kept hugging his wife and son's bodies.

Slowly, Ye Xiu approached him after he gave a command to find children that were still alive, even though the possibility was near zero.

"We need to bury them…" Ye Xiu said softly while crouching down.

He shook his shoulder to get his attention, but Ye Bai didn't budge. "Ye Bai…" Ye Xiu called him again.

The sun has risen and illuminate the b.l.o.o.d.y place, it show them how brutal the way w.a.n.g Yu had infiltrated the Orphanage Shelter as Ye Bai remained in that position for long time and Ye Xiu keep him accompanied.

"Master Ye Xiu, we found 2 boys who survived." One of the youngest spy that was brought by Ye Bai came to give a report. But, because he saw their leader wasn't in good condition, he came to report it to Ye Xiu instead.

"I will see them." Ye Xiu stood up and was about to go when he turned around to face the young spy. "What is your name?"

"My name is Gu Xie." The young spy answered him politely.

"Gu Xie, look after Ye Bai and call me if he did something dangerous." Ye Xiu worried that his brothers would have done something outrageous the moment he gained his senses.

Gu Xie slightly bowed at him in acknowledgement.

After he saw his brother still hugging his little family, Ye Xiu strolled away. He walked past many dead bodies that had been covered with blanket and laid down in one long line while the other spies digging a big hole to bury them all.

Ye Xiu came into one of the courtyard room and saw 2 boys covered with dirt and very smelly.

3 Spies who was guarding the room saluted him when they saw Ye Xiu came inside. "What happened with them?" Ye Xiu slightly wrinkled his nose when he smelled the unpleasant scent from the two boys.

"Someone hid them inside the trash bin and covered them with dirt and rotten fruit." One of the guards explained. "I wanted to clean them up, but one of them will start to cry if we come closer."

Ye Xiu nodded to his explanation and strode inside the room.

The two little boys, who was around 12 years old, were hugging each other and trembling in fear. When they saw Ye Xiu came closer, they were crying again.

"Don't cry. You are safe now." Ye Xiu used his sleeve to wipe their faces.

After some time pa.s.sed and both of them slightly calm, Ye Xiu gave them a cup of water and sat in front of them. "What is your name?"

The boy with round face spoke between his sobbed. "I am Sheng and this is my brother Xun."

"Come with me." Ye Xiu held both of the boys hand and walked outside the room.
