The woman buried her head on his chest as if she was trying to suffocate herself by doing so.

"Qianru…" Xiao Jun hugged his wife back and brought her back to their bed.

It was so late at night and Qianru still didn't sleep yet, she would be lethargic in the next afternoon if she didn't take the rest that she needed now.

"Why don't you sleep?" Xiao Jun pulled a blanket and tucked her in while he was lying beside her.

"How do you expect me to sleep when you are away and I don't even know if you are safe or not." Qianru said sullenly.

She was really worried to death the moment Xiao Jun still not returned yet.  She was about to go outside when she found Xiao Jun had locked the door. It must be him who did that kind of thing, afraid she would run out of the room, he guessed it right after all.

Xiao Jun didn't talk back again this time and only pulled her closer toward him. "Sleep now, will you?"

"Jun." Qianru stubbornly popped out her small head from his arms and stared at him with her beautiful eyes. "Are you alright? Are you injure?" Anxiousness was clear to hear from her soft voice.

"I am alright, now sleep." Xiao Jun tucked her head back to his chest and caressed her back, coaxing her to sleep.

However, Qianru shook her head and managed to look at Xiao Jun again. "What happened earlier?" She kept asking.

Xiao Jun sighed with her stubbornness and relented. "Mo Xuan Fei was fighting with the guards to meet me." He explained curtly.

"And then, what happened? Why he fought with our guard? Where is he now?" Qianru started to shot a series of questions.

"He brought along with him the unconscious concubine Lin Xinyang and asked for my help." Failed to persuade Qianru to sleep, Xiao Jun satisfied her curiosity instead. "He was accused by the Emperor Mo Qian Yuan for kidnapping imperial concubine Lin Xinyang, and since the officials had been demanding him to be sentenced to death, Mo Xuan Fei doesn't have anywhere to go."

Qianru's eyes were widened in symphaty. "Did you help them? It's a pity for both of them to be punished because of the feeling between them." She lamented as her eyes casted down.

"Do you want me to help them?" Xiao Jun didn't answer Qianru's question, but instead asked her back.

"I hope you help them, even though it is not one of your business, but there is nothing wrong to help them if you could." Qianru answered him after gave some thought about it.

Just like when she encounterd Lin Xinyang a few days ago, she didn't want to get involve with her issues, because she was not in position to decide whether she had to help her or not, giving to their situation, it was quite wise to mind each other business, but if she could she was willing to help.

"The imperial guards came when he was pleading to save Imperial concubine Lin Xinyang's life." Xiao Jun reiterated while playing with her hair.

"Ohh…" There was fleeting disappointment that crossed in her eyes, but then she said hastily. "I understand your decision, it is not our business to involve ourselves with." She got it wrong.

"I hid them." Xiao Jun ignored Qianru's words as he smiled faintly at her, he knew that Qianru had long wanted to help, it was her nature to be so kind to each other, though sometime this side of her, Xiao Jun found a little bit off from their situation they were in right now, but he loved her because of it as well.

"Really?" Qianru's voice raised a few octave when Xiao Jun said he was helping them, it wasn't like him to give a hand for something that didn't benefit him.

Don't get it wrong, Xiao Jun didn't always very calculative, but everytime he faced his enemy or someone who he had not know for long period of time, he was always very cautios and suspicion, let alone to help them, if they were proved had the possibility to endanger his plan, Xiao Jun wouldn't bat his eyes when he turned them down.

"Surprised?" Xiao Jun raised his eyebrows nonchalantly.

One of his considerations, the moment he decided to help Mo Xuan Fei and Lin Xinyang, was her. Xiao Jun didn't know, but her face kept flashin inside his mind when he finally decided to help both pair of lover.

Both of them were indeed pitiful, they met and fell for each other in the wrong time and wrong place, the palace would never be so acceptance toward love, it was taboo and no one ever truly felt it behind this cruel and scheming place.

"A little." Qianru chuckled, it was a nice sound in Xiao Jun's ears. "What are you going to do with them?" Qianru asked.

"I don't know yet." Xiao Jun shrugged his shoulders, he didn't tell Qianru that their courtyard was already under siege the time they were talking leisurely on the bed. Because Xiao Jun didn't want to see her more panic than this. "I need to talk to him first before I arrange something for them."

Xiao Jun really needed to talk to Mo Xuan Fei and see, what things that he had that could help him.

"Hmm." Qianru hummed in understanding.

"Now, since you have known whatever you wanted to know, will you go to sleep now?" Xiao Jun lowered his head and rested his chin atop of her head and felt Qianru was slightly nodding.

The woman snuggled closer to his embrace, basking herself with his warmth.

"Good, now sleep." Xiao Jun held her small body closer to him while his mind was getting sharp the moment he thought about a crucial thing.
