"Don't you need to thank Miss Gu for appealing on your behalf?" The silver-haired Lord spoke as he walked in front of Long Siye.
Long Siye answered coldly, "I do not need her help!" He would prefer her to hate him than to treat him as a complete stranger.
After all, he had betrayed her twice. Based on her temperament, she should have taken the opportunity to stab him twice to get her revenge. Instead, she was helping him.
Long Siye knew that Gu Xijiu was no saint. She would repay someone with kindness if she had received help from them but would seek revenge if someone had mistreated her.
If she had regained her memory, she would have recognized him and taken her revenge on him. Presumably, she did not remember him now and only treated him as a failed specimen. It was probably the reason why she was so generous to save his life.
Ironically, this was what Long Siye had hoped for the most in the past. However, he never expected it to happen now when they were facing such a situation.
The way she looked at him felt as if she was looking at a defected clone. Long Siye had been erased from her memory. He felt sad and could not get up from the floor. Gu Xijiu had no interest in him. She turned and left the room without even glancing at him.
d.a.m.n! It was another test! The silver-haired Lord had so many tricks up his sleeve to try to test Gu Xijiu. If she were not cautious enough, she would have fallen into his trap!
Gu Xijiu could sense that Long Siye was staring at her, but she had lost her feelings for him.
"I want to go out!" It was the eighth time that Gu Xijiu had repeated herself. She had been staying in the underground palace for three days. In these three days, she had explored every corner of the palace except for a few rooms.
It was not too much to ask for some fresh air. Even an ordinary girl would have requested to go out and see the world. Gu Xijiu, on the other hand, was very used to having her freedom.
"Xijiu, the outside world is not safe. Your skills are still too weak, and therefore it will be hazardous for you to go out. Stay here and practice the skills that I have taught you first. You are free to leave any time you like as soon as you have gotten stronger." The silver-haired Lord tried persuading her.
Over the past two days, he had been teaching Gu Xijiu a few different skills. His martial arts technique was completely different from what Di Fuyi had taught her. It could only be described with one word - risky!
Although Di Fuyi was not always rational when it came to his actions, he had taught Gu Xijiu his skills step by step using the correct method. Once she had achieved the highest level of that skill, she was able to maintain her standards based on his teachings.
On the other hand, the martial arts taught by the silver-haired Lord was like walking on a tightrope. Though it was easy to train and improve her skills, it was also somewhat easy for her abilities to deteriorate. If she were not careful enough, she would probably go crazy after she had practiced it. Nonetheless, the effect of his training method was excellent. Gu Xijiu had improved a lot even though she had only learned for two days.
When Gu Xijiu first arrived here, she thought that the silver-haired Lord had wanted to use her to blackmail Di Fuyi. However, it did not seem like the case now. The silver-haired Lord seemed to treat Gu Xijiu as one of his subordinates, and so he wanted to help her grow stronger.
This man was very bossy. He forced Gu Xijiu to learn from him. Gu Xijiu had to accept it and reluctantly learned a few tricks from him.
Of course, she knew that the silver-haired Lord was also very cunning. Hence, she was worried that he would trap her when he taught her his skills. There were some skills that she could not stop training once she had started. If she did stop, she would ultimately be dragged to the dark side and would never be able to get back on the right track. Therefore, she was very cautious in her training and made sure that she was training correctly.
